Worst experience ever. He seemed very interested in my concrete project, calling and texting to get information and negotiate price. It turned into something rather pushy and aggressive, however I thought I would give him a chance. There was a timeline for the project, that was of no concern to person/company. It took him 5 days to sign and return a simple contract. We agreed to an installation date, and sure enough last minute cancellation excuses. Agreed to another date, and sure enough the day before contacts me with even more excuses. After that I fired him on the spot. They totally destroyed my sprinkler, and did a HORRIBLE job replacing my driveway and never came back to make it right.

I would run, not walk away from this deceiver. He'll let you know he's a veteran but not all veterans are upstanding, moral people. He over charged by about $4000, took way too long to do the job, would be away from the job for days and used the cheapest concrete he could get. He didn't pour the correct color and poured over my walkway. He did no leveling before pouring and now, less than 6 months later, the concrete is cracked all the way from one side to the other. HE WILL NOT RETURN CALLS SO I WILL BE CONTACTING THE TEXAS ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE AND AN ATTORNEY FOR HIM TO REMOVE THE CRAP HE DID, TAKE DOWN A NEW PERGOLA, RETURN MY MONEY, AND PAY FOR MY PERGOLA TO BE PUT BACK UP. Horacio and his team at Devil Dogs did a fantastic job! I needed a 1200SF pad for a new metal building, and the site required a lot of prep and dirt work to ensure it was properly leveled. From start to finish, Horacio was very thorough and professional, and he made sure the work was done right. They use quality materials (4000PSI concrete, 18' rebar, etc) and they don't cut corners. Devil Dogs Concrete was and is a total joke! My wife and I received several bids for our 12' by 24' colored concert patio. We decided on Devil Dogs Concrete because Horacio sounded like he knew what he was talking about. I'll just cut to the chase... The work was sloppy, they left my yard a complete mess, did not order enough concrete, had not near enough color in the mix thus making the colored concrete a light ugly color, not at all what we ordered. Days after the job was finished the slab broke down the center, not cracked but broke in half! We contacted Horacio and tried to work out some way to fix this. All we have received is a bunch of empty promises, in other words nothing but lies. Do yourselves a huge favor and research your contractors. We are now going to have to have a repair made for $1,100 at 100% our own expense. read more

He and his crew arrived promptly and constructed an 8 x 10 concrete slab for a backyard tool shed. Horacio asked good questions to understand the project and he and his crew completed the project with care and attention to detail. He and his crew cleaned up everything before they left. Horacio is a liar and they massively screwed up my concrete stamping and then tried to act like nothing was wrong. Poured the concrete in the middle of summer and waited too long to stamp so it didn't take. Then lied about refunding money and strung me along for months. I gave the guy a break since he was a marine but reality is he is a liar that does not stand behind his work. Don't hire him and don't trust him. He may get lucky sometimes and do things right but the mark of a solid contractor is to make things right when you screw up. read more

I don't know how a company can have a 5 Star review when they have some customers who were not happy with the work! Horacio damaged the sidewalk portion of my driveway, while replacing the driveway portion. This happened because they decided to back the concrete truck down into the driveway bed, rather than move the concrete using wheel barrows; it saved them work, but damaged my property. Horacio noted on my receipt that he would return to repair the damage, but never did. The last time we talked he was still trying to get insurance, which is required by the city for him to fix a sidewalk; can't believe I did not check his insurance before hiring and paying Horacio. I guess you should never trust a US Marine! read more

AWFUL!! I spent weeks researching & reading reviews before choosing Horacio Parral. When he came for the estimate he sounded like he knew what he was doing. I had a 6x8 slab I was expanding to 10x20ft & he advised he could do an overlay with no problem. He told me he would have to dig out the grass because you NEVER pour concrete over grass he said. He told me the outermost part would be thicker because my yard slants some so it would be about 5 inches at the highest point. He also asked if he could use all the 12x12 inch concrete pavers that I was getting rid of to use as fillers that they crush down. For starters he didn't do any of that. He didn't dig out the grass. He told me the concrete would be thick enough & it didn't need to be dug out. As far as the pavers he was going to crush down & use as filler, he simply set them out randomly all over the area & set the rebar on top of it, never crushed a single one of them. The porch is 7 inches high instead of 5...he simply sd "oh and I made it thicker". The porch literally comes right up to my back door & I expressed my concern of what is going to happen when it rains! He sd it slopes so nothing to worry about. The frame & rebar that he set up was about 2 inch off of the ground, instead of being inside the supposed to be dug out ground, so when they poured the concrete from the truck it just poured out the bottom around all 3 sides. He just walked around the outside of the frame & shoveled it back in where Joe was. I had no idea the extent of how bad it was until Tues morn after it had started to dry & turn white but I have concrete around all 3 sides coming out about a foot into the grass & then there is concrete all over the back of my house, windows, doors. He told me all I had to do was get a wire metal brush to clean it off the brick. I have spent hours every night for the last week outside scraping brick & hammering all the concrete off the ground, and picking up huge concrete nails left in the grass, which is very unsafe when you have kids around. It doesn't end there...to top it all off I had just had a brand new fence installed about a month prior that he sd they would take a panel off so the concrete truck could get through to the backyard. Instead he pulled off like 6 pickets, without taking the nails out first & broke them all! Then he decided it might be better to take the whole panel off instead. Then the chute of the concrete truck took out the top of more of the fence and Horacio just looked at me and shrugged. When they were planning on leaving I walked arnd & told them they needed to do something to fix the piles of concrete literally that formed svrl inchces all around the bottom on all sides. The guy went around with a hammer knocking it down & by doing so it would show the bricks and pavers underneath the slab. The entire 20 ft across the front looks AWFUL! It looks like a 3 yr old went to town molding the sides & there is grass and dirt all stuck because they just took the concrete that spilled into the grass and added water and slapped it on there with their hands. Oh and I have a perfectly formed handprint (probably from his young son that he brought along to help) right out in the open that I can't hide. As of the next day the top of the concrete when I got home was all starting to crack already. I will also mention that Horacio does about 10% of the work. He basically let Joe do the other 90%, while he complained how hot it was, even though I pointed out that Joe was doing all the work. Then after being guilted into getting him "cash" for the job, he sends me a text before they left not pay him in front of Joe and his son. He promised me an invoice if I paid cash in which I have been waiting 8 days now for. Yes that is my mistake for even paying him w/out getting it but I thought he was an honest man and would stick to his word. He hounded me several times that night after he left to do a review after I had already told him I would the next day. However when the next day came and I saw the extent of the mess I now had & he sent yet another text asking for my review I finally told him what the review was going to say if I did it & told him everything that was wrong & that needed to be fixed. He promised up and down that "he would make it right" and "he would never do me wrong". I have gotten multiple texts telling me he would email the invoice or bring it by. Still waiting but not holding my breath and frankly I'm not waiting for him to come "fix" anything. Maybe he doesn't do this to men, but women beware... I will post this review on EVERY site I can find his name on in hopes of preventing one homeowner the frustration I have been going through. These guys were awesome!!!! Horacio and his crew showed up on time as promised, kept his word on the work they would do, and last of all communicated the entire time. I had three companies scheduled to come out and lay a pad for my hot tub and all of them bailed because it was a small job. Not Devil Dog Concrete. They know how frustrating it is and they were the ones that can be counted on. He ensured my pad was even, that the cost were down, and that the landscaping was off so more concrete would be needed or it would crack. Instead of doing a half ass job like most would he communicated the challenges of my yard for the pad and was fair in his estimate. I will use them for any other job I have and recommend them to anyone I can. read more

The worst company I've ever dealt with. We were great when we were paying customers but once the work was done and we had a huge crack in our patio...we weren't important! His customer service is the worst! He lies and pretends he cares, says he's going to fix things. Never shows up to look at the crack, then proceeds to tell us again and again he's going to come by. Then he says he'll stop by and give us money towards getting the crack fixed...and still never shows! DO NOT hire Devil Dogs to do anything for you!
