Devil Dog Energy is the type of company that is proficient at failing to deliver on what they promise. Expect major delays on agreed upon installation dates. Expect lack of customer service and post installation issues such as roof leaks, wrong equipment, etc. And worst of all unethical business practices including placing a mechanics lien on your property if you decide to cancel because they do not deliver on what they promise- complicating your finances and property ownership. This is a company that is barely surviving the solar industry exploiting unsuspecting clients. If you are looking for a company that will take responsibility for maintaining post installation service you should look elsewhere, these guys won't be around for long. read more

I'm deeply disappointed with the ethics of this company. After a homeowner signs the Palmetto PPA agreement, if they decide to cancel, Palmetto has the right to charge a cancellation fee if it's past 10 days. When I reached out to Palmetto, they assured me no cancellation fee would apply. However, the installer, Devil Dog, went ahead and placed an invalid lien on the homeowner's property--something they had no right to do. This action has resulted in the homeowner being unable to refinance their home. If the company does the right thing and removes the lien without charging unnecessary fees, I would be happy to recommend them as an installer and remove this review. However, as things stand, I cannot recommend this company, as they appear to be focused on extracting as much money as possible from customers who cancel and switch to another installation provider. read more

The devil dog team provides excellent service with the best value in the industry! Besides installing solar, they do roofing, window install and more to prepare your house for the solar installation. We have a very custom-made house in Costa Mesa with multiple flat roofs mixed in with tile roof. They redid our flat roofs with the best system available! They then installed the solar panels, and a car charger all with permits. We didn't have to deal with the headache of hiring a separate Roofer, which gave us peace of mind. It's been over a year now that we've been very happy with the system and we're saving a lot on our electrical bill.. Also as an attorney, I check the background and insurance of all contractors before hiring. Devil Dog checks everything off! We have now hired them to install solar on a second home! I started researching solar panels in 2022 and had a clear idea of what I wanted before receiving quotes from a dozen companies. I spoke with neighbors who had solar panels to learn about their experiences and conducted research on the companies to set my expectations. After receiving offers from various solar companies on Yelp and other platforms, I chose Devil Dog Energy, which was recommended by a neighbor who had their solar panels installed by them. I decided on premium Panasonic panels with Enphase microinverters, and Devil Dog Energy's quote was considerably lower than others for the same system size. I had extensive email conversations with Aaron, who always responded promptly to my questions. In December, I met with him in person to discuss details, including a warranty that was better than what other companies offered. We signed the contract the same day. The installation was initially scheduled for January but was delayed until March. It took about 4-5 hours, and everything has been working as expected. However, I later discovered that the installed microinverters were of a lower grade than agreed upon. I take responsibility for not catching this detail in the contract. When I pointed it out to Aaron, he agreed to replace them, even though he wasn't legally obligated to do so. My advice: read your contract carefully. In April this year, the IQ combiner failed. While the panels were still producing energy, I could no longer see the production numbers. It took three weeks to fix, but DDE installed a consumption CT monitoring at no cost. I recommend Devil Dog Energy because they are an honest company. They did a great job and offered me a good deal. Additionally, Aaron is a Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq, which adds to my trust in the company. read more

I am pleased to recommend Devil Dog for your solar project! I live in a modular home and was told multiple times nope it can't be installed on a modular! Aaron and his team were all very positive it could be done and walked it through the whole process with out a hitch! Their is extra permitting but it can be done! I am pleased with the outcome and now make almost 30 KWh of electricity daily! So Cal Edison has been very slow in processing everything and I am still waiting to hear how this will shake out with my total bill. My electric bill has never been higher I was sold solar to save money on electric bills I was told that I would save money now my bill is higher after they installed my solar . I'm A senior citizen on a fixed income and need it to save wherever I can they came to me and told me if I would save a lot of money on my electric bill. But they really don't understand how my local electric Company works which they should have. I have called about this problem several times Aaron the proclaimed owner has no clue of what he is doing he just wants your money . I searched his name on Google and found he was involved in a mail fraud case selling oil wells that did not exist in Orange County. I have asked for help to get this resolved and Aaron told me he can't help me because he's not the installer he's a middleman .
