I had an issue recently--two separate ones, actually with both of my computers. I called Laguna Hills Tech Access both times, because I am simply just too busy to fix them myself as my life is way too busy with taking care of my kids and having a full work schedule. Let me just say that these guys know their stuff!! The first time I called, I needed to have my motherboard replaced and new RAM (those are sticks of memory that go on the motherboard) installed on my HP laptop. My computer was constantly freezing and sometimes failed to get to the startup screen, along with a couple things more. One of the owners, Matt, came out promptly and treated me very well. I actually pretended I didn't know anything because I didn't have the energy to speak tech with him (lol sorry!). Not knowing that I know much about computers, he in no way belittled me for my "lack of knowledge." He was very cordial and encouraging. He really does know what he is doing and I speak from experience here! The second time, my Dell Inspiron was having problems stuttering while playing videos of my kids and husband playing together, among some other issues. This time the other owner, Michael, came out very quickly to look at the problem and took great care of me and my computer! We had to order some parts, and as soon as they came in, he was back to install everything and fixed my computer right up. Superior service! Don't let the youthful ages of these boys fool you. I can tell you from both experiences that they really know their stuff and not only that, they are super professional and have EXCELLENT customer service. They are truly running their company with YOUR best interest in mind. They really seem to care a lot about us and our satisfaction with their service and they really want to see us having our computers up and running again! I highly recommend Laguna Hills Tech Access to anyone, regardless of your knowledge level, be it knowing absolutely nothing or someone like me who knows a lot. It took two weeks for him to get the part as one company had it and then became backordered. The communication from Troy could have been much better through email, call or even text. My screen took 4 weeks and he missed a few deadlines. But when you see him in person he is nice and friendly and we had a great conversation. He is very knowledgeable about this craft. When I came down, he took my machine apart just to confirm his suspicions, and was correct. These guys may not look very fancy, but they know their stuff and are very friendly and NOT greedy. My poor old HP would cost me $150 to repair (melted solder of GPU) or he would give me $50 trade in towards a reconditioned one in his shop. I walked out of there with a newer HP with all the same bells and whistles and a six month warranty for only $200. He even transferred my hard drives onto the new machine at no extra charge. My situation is that my computer works fine but I wanted to get it ready for MS Flight Sim 2000 as the hardware requirements have just been published. They offered a free diagnostic and would charge for any upgrades that are required. I brought it in and Henry the owner called me the next day and said the computer is fine just as it is. He did have suggestions for a high refresh rate screen and to be sure to download the game into the SSD rather than the hard drive and to use the DisplayPort of the video card to connect the screen as that is faster than the HDMI port. It turns out he is an ex military pilot as well as an airline pilot and is an avid Flight Sim gamer when he is not actually flying his own plane. How cool is that? So the man knew exactly what my needs are. He suggested some upgrades for the future such as converting the system to an all SSD device. I felt bad that I made them do all that work for nothing and offered to take him out to lunch but he declined. He explained that he views our interaction as building a relationship for the future and a way to grow his business. I would for sure refer everyone I know his way. Could not be happier. In life, one needs a good wife/husband, a good lawyer, a good accountant, a good doctor, a good financial consultant, a good mechanic and a good computer/IT guy. Now I know a good computer/IT guy.
