Spoke with Johnny who answered all my questions and concerns regarding OptoCoat and what to expect/not expect. After talking in detail with him, I decided to book an appointment. Because of my schedule, the soonest I could book was a month out. Johnny does 1 car a day, and after getting mine back, I can see why. His attention and pride shows in the quality and detail of his work . I couldn't believe the amount of swirls that my car had already picked up. The Piano Black finish and my rear lights were probably the worst. Johnny took them all out and then proceeded to apply the OptiCoat which should help prevent future swirls. I wanted to get my car ceramic coated and after shopping around a bit, I stumbled upon Johnny's page here. Checked out his website and got to see his portfolio and some of the work he's done and decided to hit him up for a quote. Received a very prompt and detailed response, outlining what would suit my needs and explaining the differences between all the different product offerings. I decided to stop by on my lunch break and chat with Johnny a bit. We went more in depth with the coating options and what goes into the prep, and I came out of there feeling a lot more educated about the whole process and the products themselves. The knowledge, in depth explanations, and zero pushiness led me to setting up an appointment. Fast forward a few weeks later, I bring my car to his shop in the morning and Johnny dropped me off at my work. I left it there a few days to allow time for prep, application, and for the coating to cure. Once he gave me the green light to come get my car, Johnny actually came to my office to pick me up reunite me with my car. I was absolutely blown away when I picked up my car. All the swirl marks on piano black (the worst!!) were polished away, and I had a hard time spotting any sort of imperfections. The car looked cleaner than it did the day I picked it up brand new off the lot. Johnny answered any follow up questions that I had and he wanted to make sure I would be able to quickly remove any dirt, poop, etc. off my car for the first week so he also sent me away with some quick detailer (some diluted ONR in a spray bottle) and a microfiber rag. He told me to come back in a few weeks for my first wash. Fast forward 2 weeks later and I bring my car back to his shop to get its first wash. This part was important to me because I wanted to make sure that there were no issues with the curing and that the coating was good to go. I also wanted to take this as an opportunity to ask more questions I had regarding maintenance of the vehicle now that its coated. When the car was being washed, I was able to truly see the coating get to work and the car again looks flawless. We did find one tiny high spot but Johnny buffed that out immediately. Detailership is a one man shop and Johnny being an enthusiast himself shows a lot of passion for the work that he does and the resulting quality of work definitely shows that. Johnny's a TSX guy, and I understand he got his start by working obsessively on his and other forum guys' Acuras. He soon moved on to other enthusiast crowds, including the 8thcivic si guys. That's actually how I learned about his services- he did some very impressive recovery work for my former car, a 2008 nighthawk black pearl fg2 si. My girlfriend also brought her lexus is250 here shortly after. Next up will be my Nissan 370z this summer. Detail details: I had Johnny do a 15 step detail for my si, which took the better part of a day. I won't repeat the step-by-step details, as they can be found in the write-up Johnny does for each of his customers (with high-res pix). I will say that he was able to remove some relatively major scratches, and got rid of all the swirling. Impeccable work. I found/met Johnny aka Wong05tsx through a car forum. He quoted me a very reasonable price and took him up on the offer. Johnny was very polite and professional. He offered to drop me off somewhere if I didn't feel like waiting in his garage, but I decided to stick around and chitchat with Johnny and browse the internet on my laptop. Truthfully I've work in automotive industry for awhile and I always had my car clean by the detailers at the dealership. However I really never like the works to much I always see more scratches than shine. I was recommended by a friend who had his STI detailed by Johnny so I shoot him a phone call and gave it a shot. I love seeing my baby all nice and clean and when I brought it to him he was like wow how can i let my ISF have swirls and hard water stain on there. We are all hard workers never get to really clean it but gave it a shot since he was highly recommended. Prices is very reasonable! And truthfully a lot less than what I expected so that is a plus 1 already. He has excellent customer service skills and seriously went into a lot of detail about paint I never knew before except for washing it with soap and dry it with towel. Came back about 6 hours later. My god I swore Johnny went to Lexus and picked me up a brand new car because the paint was amazing and it shined like no other. i took a picture of my car and it seriously look like its been photoshoped. My car was the victim of paint overspray from some building painters. Because the painters were to pay for the cleanup, I had to get a couple of paper or email quotes from local detailers. I called/visited a handful of places and was really disappointed with the customer service of many of them. One seemed shady while another chose not to respond at all. Why would I want to trust my car with some of these characters? On the opposite end of the range was Johnny. I called him to discuss my problem and felt like he was an honest, straight-forward guy. He explained my options and was very prompt in sending me a detailed written quote. I'm always hesitant in trusting my car with just anyone. I tend to watch while my car is being worked on, if possible. Talking with Johnny and reviewing his previous work on his website make me confident enough to leave my car with him. I called Johnny in the month of March 2015 and got an appointment in the Month of May 2015 and this was my first detailing ever. I got his reference through Yelp and knew all his work through yelp reviews. I was little nervous about my car. I have Mercedes E350 2012 model and which is black in Color. When I met Johnny I found him very cool guy and he explained me what he will do. Let me tell you he is an artist and a perfectionist in his work and that is how I will describe him. Detailing is not his profession but he does it because its hobby which in my opinion makes him different from others. I had always dream about getting that pitch shiny black color which should be deep and reflective and I explained him that why some black car shines a lot and are different from rest of others and he explained me and to my surprise , he made my mercedes exactly like what I had asked and dream for. Its the most deep black color on the road and it shines a like a black diamond now. I could feel the difference by looking at it. He worked on every minute detail on my car. I got my car fully coated with opti coat pro , plus opti coat gloss . He is perfectionist in his work .
