He was very helpful at for our return back to the MCO Terminal. He had given us a bunch of snacks for our train trip on the Brightline and dropped us off without any issues for our train. So far, we will be using their services again because it was just so easy, and Sam was very professional and nice. My apologies.), and he told me that he was aware of the early flight as he was tracking us and he was waiting for us at the baggage claim entrance. He was very pleasant and a good driver. He had my two year old's car seat ready and six year old's booster seat in the very clean black Lincoln Navigator (SUV). He took us to the grocery store for a quick pick-up before we went to our hotel. As we entered our hotel driveway he arranged a price quote, for a round trip, from one of the hotel's SUV drivers for an outing that we had planned the next evening. He confirmed that the price sounded fair. We appreciated that extra help. Our second driver, (Ash) arrived a little earlier than scheduled as per my request without any question. He too showed up in a very clean black Cadillac Escalade (SUV) with car seats at the ready. He got us to the airport safely and on time. Pricing for both of these trips was terrific. Approximately $78 including tip pre-paid. We tipped a little extra on top of the pre-paid amount to each driver for their exceptional service. But you won't have to and they don't expect it or pressure you to do so. We definitely recommend this company and it's drivers if you are in the Orlando area.

We've done this for years. This specific trip, we'd already done Epcot and to our hotel (Waldorf-2.8 miles away) five times. Never over $13 with a taxi. We usually just go with the first taxi that approaches us and confirm that they are metered and a taxi, versus a chauffeur or something else. NEVER in years have had an issue. We get into the Blue Horizon car: not advertised anywhere: just says "Taxi." And I asked if he was a metered taxi driver, he said yes. We started noticing the meter was over $37 when we turned onto the main road our hotel is on. I asked wtf was going on and who he worked for. He made up some excuse about fees and high meters on Friday. I said this is a huge scam and he acted as if this was my first time and told me "he'd get me if I couldn't afford it." We paid him $37 in cash and told him to quit scamming people and lying. I also reported him to our hotel and made a written complaint to Disney to, hopefully, ban this company from entering the property. I really hope this helps someone. We're pretty seasoned world travelers and big Disney goers and I've never been scammed like this after asking if someone is a metered taxi driver and they gave a sign stating so.

I used Lyft a couple times when Uber gets a bit too expensive or unavailable. I used the app last…read moreweek to get back home from downtown Orlando. I was finished with my dinner and I took a ride back to Metrowest area for about 22 dollars. Since I have Dashpass, I was immediately upgraded to priority status for pickup. Right after I requested a ride, I found out that it was ready for my in an instant. Stunned, I went outside only to find the driver was ready and waiting. I went inside the van and the driver knew where to go. We had a nice conversation while heading home, and the driver was friendly and professional. The van was clean and spacious. It was an excellent ride and only cost me 26 dollars after tip. I normally find Lyft a bit more expensive than Uber, but sometimes you can get great deals. Another thing I like about Lyft is there live notifications on the lock screen works on the Always On Display, so don't have to keep your phone awake to see the progress. Always be a nice passenger and be aware of your driver as well. Normally if you have higher passenger rating, your chances of getting a better driver is greater. I consistently had a great experience with Lyft, even though I don't use it as much as Uber. I find it a great alternative when Uber is unavailable. It may be a bit more costly, but still in great quality. Overall: A-

I've watched Lyft go downhill over the years, but this experience officially convinced me it's no…read morelonger a service I can rely on when I actually need transportation. After getting off my cruise at Port Canaveral, my family and I spent nearly three hours trying to get back to Orlando. Not because there weren't drivers nearby, but because no one would accept the ride. Lyft loves to advertise all these pricing tiers, Wait & Save, Standard, XL, Priority, etc., making it seem like transportation is just a tap away. In reality, the drivers appear to decline rides that don't pay enough, leaving passengers stranded while the app pretends it's still searching. I attempted to book rides multiple times. One was under $77, another for $85, another for $93.94 (see attached screenshot), and every single request just...sat there. The app repeatedly promised, "Just a few more seconds," for what turned into hours. At one point it even estimated a driver could arrive in 1 to 83 minutes. Eighty-three minutes. Who thought that was an acceptable estimate to display to someone standing in the Florida heat trying to get home? To make matters worse, we weren't just using Lyft. We had Lyft, Uber, and another rideshare app all searching simultaneously to see who could find a driver first. None of them did. We were literally among the last people left at the cruise terminal, watching everyone else disappear while our phones kept spinning in circles. Lyft's only helpful suggestion? "We'll waive your cancellation fee if you choose to cancel." Choose? That's cute. You can't cancel a ride that nobody is willing to accept. The irony is almost laughable. My ride to the cruise terminal from Orlando cost around $56. Coming back? Lyft and Uber suddenly wanted anywhere from $120 to over $300, depending on the moment you checked the app. That's not surge pricing, that's highway robbery disguised as an algorithm. Thankfully, we eventually gave up and grabbed a taxi. A huge thank you to Willie Pierre Louis, our cab driver, for doing what Lyft and Uber couldn't: showing up. He got us safely back to Orlando without the drama, endless waiting, or ridiculous pricing. Based on what he told us, it's no wonder drivers weren't taking these rides, many of them simply aren't worth it for the drivers under Lyft's pay structure. That's a business problem, not a customer problem. If your platform depends on independent drivers, but your pricing model is causing those drivers to reject legitimate rides for hours, then your service has fundamentally failed. People don't open Lyft because they're bored. They open it because they need transportation. This wasn't a Friday night bar crawl. This was transportation from one of the busiest cruise ports in the country. Instead, Lyft abandoned us without so much as a meaningful update while pretending help was always "just a few more seconds away." After the cruise I had, all I wanted was to get home. Instead, Lyft made sure the vacation ended with one final headache. Do better. Or stop pretending you offer reliable transportation.
