We used the on line system through this company's website to reserve a taxi for an early morning airport trip. We had a confirmation email and a confirmation number and a quoted price, but no taxi turned up. We called their dispatch who said they had no record of it, and their only driver was finishing his shift so it was just our bad luck. I would NEVER recommend this cab company to anyone I remotely cared about. The owner is completely unprofessional and WILL rip you off. There are terrible reviews for a reason. The owner even told us "Leave us a bad review, we don't care about the reviews." That is an understatement. They clearly don't care about any of their customers or providing good customer service. We needed a few cars for our wedding day and they told us to call back the morning of, since they couldn't confirm how many cars they could give us. They told us it could either be a sedan or a van (which would fit 5 people) and they would know for sure that morning. We were okay with that. When we called back the on the day of our wedding, he told us a both sedans and vans could only fit 4 people due to some California law (HA! Why did you tell us 5 initially then?). We had to check with our group, and when we called back a second time, he changed the rules again and said sedans can only fit 3 people. What an absolute joke. We pushed back because he was clearly making things up as he went, and he berated us, told us to find another taxi company, and hung up on us. I would NOT recommend DeSoto Cab EVER! I have tried to use their services twice. Both times I needed transportation to the airport. I called several days before my flight to book a cab. They took my information, etc. And both times the taxi never shows up, and when I call to check on the status they never have record of my call. I won't be fooled a third time. I reserved 4 taxi vehicles a few days before my wedding event. Kimberly was respectful and helped with my request. There was a chance that my request could turn into 3 vehicles, since they have minivans that can seat more passengers. I was told to call back the morning of my event, so they can confirm their fleet of vehicles and finalize my reservation - everything seemed good. On the morning of my wedding, I called and spoke to a guy with HORRIBLE customer service. He said they had minivans, but I still had to pay for 4 vehicles, even though I only needed 3 now. He made up rules that there was a maximum allowed in each vehicle. First it was 4 passengers allowed, then the rule changed to 3 passengers allowed (because the driver counted). He was trying his hardest to make me pay for the fourth vehicle. We were already willing to pay a premium (aka we were being ripped off) of $100/vehicle for only a 15-min drive and he was STILL shady AF. Things got worse as the guy started yelling at me over the phone. I asked to talk to his boss, which he claimed to be. If he really was the boss, I can see why this company has a bad rating and bad reviews. The "boss" really knows how to run a company. At the end of his yelling, he told me to write them a bad review because he does not care and to also look for another taxi company. Absolutely the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I found them to be the most reliable and they even helped out when a Lyft ride didn't show and I needed to get to the airport that same morning. I use them for business and personal and always for local rides to the airport because I know they'll get there (and usually will be waiting outside early). I learned that they also regularly drive kids to school bringing some great help for families with long commutes. read more

Just had an interaction with driver in cab 52 that was utterly appalling. He was dropping off an elderly woman and instead of pulling into one of the MANY parking places available at the front of the store, he chose to then stop in the middle of the aisle, holding up five other vehicles as he filled out paperwork and argued with me. I then called to let the owner know how their employee acts and that was as useless as arguing with the cab guy himself. A cab company that can't follow simple traffic laws is one I wouldn't want anything to do with. Horrible customer service. Accusatory that I was wrong. You won't ever find me in a cab. I have ridden with this company before and had a good experience. This is the first time I did not have a good experience. I did write to the company while I was traveling to complain about their driver. They did apologize to me. During this pandemic I was concerned about traveling in a taxi. I had called the company to be sure their drivers wore masks and would open the window. I was assured that they follow protocol. When I was picked up the driver was not wearing a mask. I asked him about this and he replied that he didn't have one. Fortunately I had a new unused with me that I requested the driver to wear. Although he put the mask on he refused to wear it properly. Also he would not roll a window down partially. I still took the ride, but I have feared the possibility of contact with the coronavirus. I'm not sure I want to use this company again. read more

Hit or miss. Sometimes you get a good driver, but mostly you don't. I've called cabs in the area many, many times. A lot of the cabbies know me, even. This cab company has some serious issues. There's a few younger dudes who drive for them and they couldn't really give a rat's colon about where you're going or when you're going there. They may answer the phone, they may not. Sometimes they feel they want to show up at your door and sometimes they only want to come down the street and expect you to walk down to meet them. The older dudes tend to be totally deaf, dumb, blind, and don't speak a lick of English (assuming they even know I'm speaking at all). They attempt to up-sell you in a cab. Is that even possible? Honestly. If they deign to pick you up, consider yourself lucky. If you don't get a younger guy or an older guy or one of the very large ladies with incredibly stank cabs, consider yourself lucky again. If you somehow come to your senses and choose to walk on broken glass to your destination, consider yourself making better time. Also - don't be fooled. The younger dudes who work with these cab companies know to come to yelp and boost their ratings with glowing reviews. Often times, the review is in broken English, for what it's worth. read more

RUN away from this business. I called for a taxi from my house to the Bart station. I didn't have any cash on me so I made sure they accepted credit cards beforehand. After my 15 minute ride ended and I whipped out my credit card, the driver went berserk. He started driving me backward towards the nearest gas station, which was 10 minutes away (near my house), and demanded that I take out cash from the atm there. Finally after I gave him a tip that was half my fare, he let me out. A horrifying ordeal. I also missed my train and had to take the next one. read more

I decided to make a reservation to have this company take me to SFO airport from San Ramon and I made my arrangements online on their website 1 week before my departure. Afterwards I called to make sure that my reservation was made. The representative assured me that I would get picked up on time. On the day I needed to go to the Airport, the company did not show up and I called them only to find out they didn't have it. They sent out a cab immediately and it took roughly 20 mins. No big deal We made it to SFO safely and I made my payment with my company card. Afterwards I have the driver a good tip. Then... The driver said he needed another 5 bucks for the bridge toll. Why didn't he ask me when I swipped my company credit card? I think this company is a rip off and it's too bad they are ripping off their customers because they will no longer be doing business with me. Worst taxi cab service ever. I never even actually laid eyes on one of their cabs. I was in Pleasanton on business and needed a ride to the BART station. Went with Dublin Taxi 'cause it had a good review. Lies. PawanM (first poster) had it right. I was told the cab would arrive in 10-15 minutes. At the 15 minue mark, I called and was told it would be another 10-15. At the 40 minute mark, still no cab. I ended up begging a ride from someone from the office I was visiting. The dispatchers for this taxi service suuuuuuuck! I requested to be picked up at 609 House in Livermore, but the dispatcher thought I said 649 even after I loudly, clearly, and slowly said "six oh nine" (seriously, say it just like that out loud to youself and tell me if it sounds anything like six four nine). She also got my phone number wrong. She thought there was a seven in my phone number and there's not. I'm baffled as to how she got everything so wrong. She should've recited the information I gave her back to me to avoid this mess, but she didn't. As a result, the cab was over an hour late because he got the wrong information. At least he was really cool. I wish I got his name so Yelpers know which driver to ask for. He was very kind when my party of three including myself requested to make a couple extra stops on our way to our destination and made for great conversation. One star for the dispatcher and five stars for the cab driver. read more

Scheduled a cab to the airport for 4 am. The cab didn't show up. At 4:10 am I called DeSoto and was told that "they didn't have my reservation". A credit card is required in order to place a reservation. I was charged $63 for a ride that never took place. I was told a refund would be issued. It's been 4 days since I was wrongly charged and I haven't seen a refund despite calling every day to check status. I can't seem to get ahold of a supervisor. The cab is not only unreliable but also not prompt in issuing a refund for wrongful charges. read more

Easy to make reservation online, and they confirmed promptly. Pick up was on time, got to the airport at the right time. His driving and interactions were professional. Drop off was right outside appropriate airport door. He helped with my bag, and was very polite and sensitive to my disability. Booked them for the return trip two weeks later, and again everything was great. The fees seem competitive but would be nice if it could be lower, especially for repeat customers. I've used this service a few times and have had it pretty easy, sorry to those who got crazy drivers :/ My cab arrives in about 15 min. But I will add, getting a cab in rush hour is harder. The cab is clean, and so is the driver (ie. they don't smell or smoke) I prefer to just get in and go, no small talk, so the less chatty my driver is the better for me. So far the drivers I've had have been pro's. TIP: I always pay with cash, small bills. It's faster and easier. read more

I generally consider cabs, in general, something of an expensive last-ditch to begin with; and it was as such that I hired DeSoto Cab. But these guys give prompt and friendly service in a clean vehicle at a reasonable charge--all in all, as much as one can ask of a cab company. But in my hurry, I forgot an item in the cab; and the company promptly shipped it back. So I'm going to have to give them some additional credit for being trustworthy. read more

But apparently it wasn't our cab and when we went to get in his car the driver yelled at my friends and I using very bad language and threatening us! All I can say is Wow!!! Was picked up at dublin bart station by a driver that was so funny but very polite.I Think his name was Daniel...I needed to go to safeway and he waited for me . He was courteous and he gave me the benefit of helping out and he also carried in 8 bags of groceries for me up two flights of stairs ' ...this is the second occurrence I've been treated well by the driver . Great company! They get my wife to work at 4AM daily without any issues, never late, she says the drivers are nice. Also my wife left her phone in the car this morning after being dropped to work. She just replaced her phone from being stolen! I called into De Soto and they told me unfortunately the driver did not find it. I made a final attempt to call her cell again and another driver answered he was now in San Francisco! She was picked up in Dublin and dropped to work in Dublin. Long story short the driver returned the phone to me at work here in Dublin. What a company! No charge! He dropped it with a smile! Never again will I call them! Last night to get there was fine, the lady was cool with my pitbull in the taxi. Next morning a different lady was driving and the second she saw my dog she flipped out and said "no way , thats not a little dog. No way not even a maybe .!".and starting backing out said she was going to call to see if anyone would come and left. I needed a cab ride after having a few many beers one day, so google listed de soto cabs as one of my choices. The only reason I called them was because they said a driver would come pick me up in 15 minutes, so I said that will fine. Anyway 40 minutes goes by and still no cab, WTH! I called back and the dispatcher says he already left when you first called here. The dispatcher tries to radio the driver and no answer. He tried several times and finally he answered and said he did not know where I was at the location I needed to be picked up at. Mine you I am waiting outside in front of a small sports bar. After another 20 minutes the cab shows up and I jump in. The cab smelled of smoke, it wasn't the legal kind. At that point I didn't care and told the driver where I needed to go. The driver was very rude and cut me off every time I was talking to him. I finally got to my desination and handed a smaller tip than usual for the lack of good service. The cab driver said "that's it, do you need change to break a larger bill?" At that point , I am so angry and said Yes. I should have snatched back his tip but I am the better person. I called for a cab to take me to the BART station. The driver was prompt on his arrival but hesitant on the location my my apartment. I was waiting on the sidewalk to make it easier for him. He was slightly unfamiliar on how to get to the BART from my side of town. It was all cleared up with a few words of instruction. The ride to BART was safe and timely. Used De Soto's van service to the airport earlier this year and it was perfect. Nice van with plenty of space for family and luggage. Nice driver who got us to the airport quickly and smoothly. Price is just a tad bit more than the major ride share providers, but I feel much more confident that the taxi will arrive, especially at odd hours, than the ride-sharing services where you sometimes get canceled with no notice. Really kind and friendly, but also tactful enough to leave us to our conversation (I'm kind of an introvert, lol). The driver got us to our destination quickly and helped us load/unload our bags. He was very polite and apologized for the inconveniences and agreed that we should be told the exact wait time. I appreciate him calling and it shows that he cares about his customers.
