They did a great job on my remodel in 2019. About 2 years later a kitchen drawer started thunking when closing. Not too bad so I let it go. Year or so later it continued to get worse and I needed some cabinet touchup, so Aaron sent someone to remedy the issues. Drawer was better, but still lightly thunked. Last year the drawer thunking got really loud and slightly crooked, and I needed more touchup paint. Contacted Aaron, making it perfectly clear that I fully expected to pay for whatever was needed, and asked how to get drawer repaired and some touchup paint. Positive response from Aaron, and since needed but not urgent, agreed to meet next time he was in my area. Couple months later Aaron came to my home and inspected the drawer. Said he would get it taken care of and get me some touchup paint. Several more months have passed and Aaron has ignored my follow-up calls and emails, even though I specifically stated several times that I fully expect to pay, and would appreciate a reference to contact on my own if he could not take care of it. No response is not only rude, it is very bad business. I have lost all respect for Aaron and this business. Good work but bad follow-up. BEWARE if problems encountered down the line. read more

My Aunt purchased a new kitchen through this company and the installation went well however I went to look at the work later and noticed that the cuts were not clean and had frayed. I also noticed that the shelves in one cabinet weren't square. I called Aaron and sent him pictures. I just asked for a call to discuss. He did not respond. We had two bathrooms remodeled - complete gutting and remodel. We/I thought I knew what I was doing from granite counters to tile and vanity selection and if not for Barbara's expertise my bathrooms would have resembled a 1970 discotheque. The most important lesson in remodeling is patience and trust. Our projects had minor issues while at the same time the company was expanding - patience. Barbara stated on day one that she will always guarantee workmanship long after project completion - trust. Barbara sticks to her word and ensures the customer is satisfied. We have never had an issue with any questions or repairs. She will repair and/or replace workmanship and material items as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction. Barbara does not create a new contract or invoice for this and as previously stated - she stands by her word - trust. If you worry about quotes with respect to whether a particular company will be around in a year or two after project completion and honor warranty work, or after warranty expiration, rest assured Barbara's company will take care of you. Barbara runs one hell of a business! She is not only a licensed contractor but a designer as well. Is she busy? Of course she is, and personally I think that's a good thing! We had several companies come out for estimates on our kitchen remodel. Unfortunately all of them were limited with what they do. "We only do cabinets", "we only do countertops", "we only do tile". Barbara is a one stop shop that does it all. I love that she handles every aspect of a remodel. She made our old outdated kitchen modern, contemporary and functional. She did everything as promised and all of her employees did quality work as well as being on time and respectful. Barbara did such a great job with our kitchen that we also hired her to completely remodel our master bath as well as gut our guest bath to do a tub to shower conversion. Everything came out exactly as we had hoped in a timely manner. No remodel will go exactly perfect, but any minor issues that arose were handled quickly by Barbara or her project manager George. Designers recently finished our bathroom remodel. It is beautiful!! Barbara listened to our ideas and suggested ideas of her own. We were able to meet with her to shop for tile, faucets, and countertops. Rob, her Superintendent, is great! We were given a printed schedule of day and time each phase of the remodel would occur. I didn't buy countertops from Designer Kitchen and Baths but they were very helpful and provided me with a company that could repair my problem. I purchased granite countertops from Lowe's and the wrong color was delivered. It's been a month waiting for the correct color to be ordered and installed so I wanted to use another company. Even though Erin could have a sale, he was kind enough to suggest that I use another company to repair the overhand on all the cabinet tops. This is above and beyond great customer service. Barbara Turns from Designer Kitchen and Baths went above and beyond to help me with repairs to a leaking shower that was well past any normal warranty period. I mean way, way, way past a time frame that any other contractor would honor. When the shower started leaking through the wall a handyman had come in as a favor to me and quite honestly made a mess of things by ripping both shower tiles, the shower surround, and a water damaged cabinet out. When he saw how involved repairs would be he suggested I call the original installer. It had been so many years since installation I had not even considered calling Designer Kitchens and Baths. Barbara came out and was so kind. I am a 100% disabled veteran on a very limited income. She only charged me the cost of whatever materials were needed for repair. Labor was free on both the shower and the repair/re-installation of the adjoining side wood cabinet. This saved me thousands. Barbara also sent her repairmen to help me with other issues in the house at a very reasonable cost. I am so thankful that she came to my aid when my chips were down. We used Designer Kitchen and Bath for two main renovations. The first one was a total remodel of our 20 year old kitchen and master bath. We were looking for a one-stop shop where the designer had his/her own crews. We weren't interested in being our own general contractor. Barb at Designer Kitchen and Bath was just the ticket. From the initial visit to the final walk through, she and Aaron Vry, her general manager, were great. Barb met with us, listened to what we had in mind, then went to work. She was great with suggestions but wasn't pushy with them, although I think we went ahead with just about everything she suggested. We went to a variety of granite and tile places that she suggested and met us there to help us with the process. It helps sometimes to have someone who can "speak their language" when it comes to vendors, especially if the stuff is outside your wheelhouse. The remodel on both areas was a gut job down to the studs. Her construction crews were very knowledgeable and their experience helped make the end product more user friendly. Our second big job with them was a year later. It was a remodel on two other full baths plus a new tile floor throughout the house. We had a leak in the wall of the guest bathroom that caused a lot of damage including mold. We had to have the walls striped to the studs and the floor striped to the sub floor to get to all of the mold. Once we had a company abate the mold, we called on Barbara again to help with the design. The second master bathroom was the only one left that wasn't redone so we decided to go ahead with that one at the same time. Much of the design choices had already been made since we wanted all of the bathrooms to be similar. Again, Barb had some great insight and, while all three bathrooms are very similar, she was able to give each a unique look/feel that is wonderful. We are very pleased with our new rooms. After the first experience, we had the opportunity to recommend Barb to some friends and had no reservations about doing so. We'd certainly will talk to her again if we have any other design questions or projects. read more

First I wish to express my love for my kitchen. It is absolutely gorgeous and what I wanted. That being said, there were a few hiccups along the way that could have been prevented. Barbara is the owner and deeply cares about the happiness of her clients. She does tend to get too much on her plate and seems overwhelmed. I am an 'on-time/on-schedule' person. Timelines and schedules get thrown out of the window when remodeling. Keep that in mind. A 6 week project turned into an 8 week project. Why? Aaron. Barbara's right hand man is the reason for downgrading their start rating. Aaron is unprofessional to the business. I think it's rude to text a client at 6:30am and also 11:30pm. Upon meeting him he was polite and made us feel important. It was all fake. Don't tell a client you will run samples over as soon as they are in hand and then not even call. Speaking of samples, don't make a client wait over two months for them when you keep saying they will be there overnight. Barbara used to use all of her own guys for just about every aspect of the remodels. Now it is a lot of sub contractors so scheduling when each of them will be there is a hassle. Juggling an electrician, floor or granite guy might leave a few days of dead time until their schedule opens. At least the sub contractors she chose were honest and did amazing work. One of her guys who was actually an asset is Brandon. He was the hardest working of all. He pays attention to detail and wants it right for the customer. Would I recommend them? Sure just as long as you don't have to deal with Aaron. read more

Highly recommend. Aaron was able to completely redesign our kitchen, while staying within our budget. If you are looking for someone that pays attention to detail, this is the company. He noticed that our builder took shortcuts in the configuration of our cabinets, and that things were off center. Multiple companies that bid our project never noticed. Had we gone with other people's ideas, we would have likely noticed too late, and after the investment. Aaron took the time to help me locate hardware that I had seen on Pinterest (with no link, or company name). He searched through countless brochures, and located them. Unfortunately we are relocating, but the redesigned kitchen and bar that he installed were well worth it. Aaron & Ken were on it quickly and issues were taken care of. They were just as competent 2 years later as they were with our renovation. We were looking to remodel our master bathroom and bedroom. We contacted several contractors/ designers who had come to the house for a consultation. All of them did not want to work within our budget, even though their websites/reviews said "we work within any budget." We were so frustrated, we were ready to do the remodel ourselves. It just so happened Aaron was the last appointment we scheduled. He came to the house, listened to what we wanted to do and gave great input. He drafted a quote with estimates from high to low, this way we wouldn't be surprised if something was more money. He explained the process in great detail and answered all our questions. Professionalism at its best!! Ultimately, Aaron spent four hours at out house before we even hired him! Needless to say we hire him. His crew, especially Brandon, was outstanding!Brandon was always on time, if not early and Aaron was just a phone call or text away. Brandon was a work horse, I don't think he ever took a break! We asked a bunch of questions during demo and framing and Brandon was very attentive to our needs. Aaron would frequently would stop by and check on the progress. Best of all, he wouldn't take payment until the each part of the job was complete and to our satisfaction. If we were going to go over our budget in a particular area, he would feel us back in and explain why it was over budget. Yes, there were some hiccups but it's to be expected with a major remodel. It was nothing to complain about. Some of it was out fault do the fact we added things along the way. He made the process simple. There are really no words to say how pleased we are with the work and end result that we got from Barb and her team. From the time we first met with Barbara and through the entire process she listened and she delivered. We contracted with Barb do do a complete remodel and redesign of our kitchen and family room. Our home is one of the tri-level Bailey McGah homes that was built in the late 80's. We've lived here for over 20 years and had no desire to purchase a new home at this point in our lives and we have (mostly) the best neighbors in the world. I really wanted an open concept and wasn't sure if we could even accomplish all that we wanted to do. We had several contractors come in and got several bids and design plans but Barb really understood what I wanted and worked with us to come up with the plans to bring our vision to reality. She wasn't the cheapest but we felt most comfortable with her ability to deliver what we wanted. Ken Hollenbeck was our superintendent and we really can't say enough about the job that he did. By the time the job was completed we had a new friend and he delivered an absolutely amazing product. Remodeling is never easy and there were set backs and surprises but we worked through everything and in the end we got a kitchen and family room that surpassed anything we could have possibly imagined. This is a very long, overdue review. We hired Barbara and her team after getting proposals from 3 other companies. We felt the most comfortable with Barbara and hired her to completely remodel the master bathroom and 2 guest bathrooms. They also installed heated tiles and a steam room for the master. Four years later and everything is still working perfectly and has held up beautifully. Barbara was easy to get in touch with and is knowledgeable in the design department. I was actually excited to have them come out and obtain a quote on my major home remodel. They had obtained good reviews so that is a major reason why I made contact. Aaron came out to give us an estimate. He made a point to inform us of how busy he was and told us he would have a quote for us within 1 - 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I called and left a message for a call back which I never received. 3 days later I left another message with a nice lady at the office who even stated that besides the fact they were busy, I should have received a call back and she would make sure Aaron would contact me, she even obtained my email. Now six weeks later, as of the time of this review, I still have not been contacted. All I can say is thank you for wasting my time. If you did not want my business all you had to do was say so. I requested a free estimate to remodel a big tub and shower into one. Aaron was running late which really is not appreciated. He looked at what needed replacing, took measurements, and said he would send me the estimate in email later that day. That was last week and still NO estimate plus he quoted me with a $2,000.00 range which is not right when giving an estimate. You see the situation and should be able to bid accordingly. Measurements were done for redo of master bath. Our own design explained. We were invited to the showroom an given a vague proposal and a drawing that did not resemble our requested design. The proposal included no materials. We asked for simple changes to the design and a range for what the products would cost to do the renovation so we could have a budget. Having used Designer Kitchen and Baths before on our three bathrooms, we did not hesitate to use them again for our kitchen. Barbara Turns and Aaron Vry met our our house to discuss our wants and needs and to take some initial measurements. In just a few days Aaron had a design laid out for us to look at. Both Aaron and Barbara are very good at knowing what will look good and give suggestions on how to improve the look of our kitchen, but understand the final decision is ours. After a few tweaks here and there we agreed on a design/plan and we were ready to shop for lighting, appliances, plumbing fixtures, flooring, backsplash, granite, etc. One of them was always there to help out and give advice as needed. Demo Day came quickly and our project superintendent, Ken Hollenbeck and his crew were on time and ready to go. Ken had a calendar of events from start to finish ready to go for us on day one so we could follow the progress and know what is happening on what day. Ken had a great team of guys that work for him and with him and we felt comfortable from day one that the job was being done properly and professionally. Ken has a keen eye for detail and nothing was left undone and he made little changes here and there, with our approval, to make our kitchen look even better. Ken takes pride in his work and is only 100% satisfied when we are. Ken's guys knew what to do when they got here and knew what was expected of them before they left for the day. The sub-contractors the company used were ALL top notch and very professional. Their work was of the best quality. Our kitchen turned out to be even more beautiful than we anticipated and we could not be happier. A HUGE shoutout and thank you to Barbara, Aaron, Ken and the rest of the crew that worked so hard from beginning to end to give us our DREAM KITCHEN. No time is wasted measurements were taken then downloaded onto a laptop which allowed her to move walls countertops and discuss our options so we could have a visible idea of the changes that were going to take place. Aaron took our dark cave like home and turned it into a modern masterpiece with a beautiful open floor plan and amazing finishes. Contacted them to do remodeling on a home we purchased, we were told no design fees. Barbara met with us, took measurements said she'd get back to us with a design to remodel house and a quote. Weeks went by, we heard nothing, so we continued to contact her. We finally received a copy of a computer plan to remodel, but without dimensions, etc. She stated at this time in order to move forward we had to pay her $ - so we did. We heard nothing, so continued to contact her asking where is the quote, let's proceed, start demo.... NOTHING! Weeks turned into months, we finally pressed her for an amount - she threw out a ridiculous amount, but said again by the end of the next week (which we'd heard many times) she'd have definite figure. For the amount she quoted we could have built an entire new house - it was obvious she did not want the job. So we spent $ for NOTHING. AVOID this business at all cost! read more

My wife and I are from out of state, and we purchased a condo to remodel and use as our vacation home. I researched the Internet extensively and read countless reviews, and narrowed it down to 5 general contractors to give us bids for our remodeling project. Because we were flying in with limited time and availability, we scheduled all five contractors 2 hour blocks at a time, to come out and meet with us and give us an estimated remodeling bid. All of the contractors were professional, experienced, and a great pick except for one...Barbara from Designer Kitchen and bath. Barbara didn't seem very interested in listening to what we wanted, and seemed somewhat cold if we didn't take any of her suggestions. Never the less, we didn't think too much of it because of the good reviews that had been posted on line. Within a week, 4 of the 5 general contractors contacted us to touch base and thank us for considering them for our project. Not a word from Barbara from Designer Kitchen and Bath. Within 2 weeks, we had 4 bids from our general contractors out of the 5 that came out. Again, not a word from Barbara at Designer Kitchen and Bath. Fast forward to today, and we have chosen a wonderful contractor and we are now happily into the seventh week of construction. Amazingly enough we still have not received a single text, phone call, or email from Barbara at Designer Kitchen and bath, and at this point nor do I want to! Perhaps our remodeling project was too small for her tastes ($45,000), or perhaps she was just not interested. Either way I think that we have dodged a HUGE bullet by not selecting such an unprofessional and uncommunicative contractor as Barbara at designer kitchen and Bath. As long as you do it her way, perhaps your project will go well, but for us I have to give her ZERO stars in all categories. Buyer beware! read more

They totally gutted my kitchen a year ago and now we have the most beautiful kitchen I have ever seen and recently helped with updating our bathrooms which turned out to be awesome as well. Just this month they turned my mothers bathtub into a walk in shower with grab bars at my mothers house. They prepared the rooms and covered the carpets and surrounding floors so they did not get damaged. They were on time and very friendly, comfortable to have around my house and my mothers. After the demo was done on all sites the debris was quickly removed. I could not of found a better company that's why we have had them do several remodels for us.
