We took my daughter's senior prom gown to alter the hem which was 5 layers of material. Lucy was so welcoming and talented! She hemmed the prom gown to the perfect length and it was very affordable! So glad that we found her! read more

Lucy is so wonderful & I would highly recommend visiting her for your alteration needs! I brought in a jumpsuit with pant legs that were too long on me and the torso was a bit loose. She brought everything in and hemmed it beautifully. It's one of my favorite things to wear now and looks so great! I also brought a ball gown for last year's Marine Corps Ball and she did an incredible job hemming it. It has 4 layers of fabric and wasn't an easy job, but she nailed it and had a great turn around time! I would definitely recommend bringing a Ball gown in as early as possible because it's a very popular time for alterations. Lucy was also very sweet and professional. I had only great interactions will definitely be going back to her the next time I need something altered. :) read more

Lucy is magical! Her ability to fix problems or tailor a shirt a size down is amazing.

Top notch service, reasonable prices, work always done on time. Best on the windward side!

I took my Granddaughter in to have her prom dress altered. This was my first experience meeting Lucy. Lucy is a wonder, she looked at the dress, told me what was involved with hemming, time frame, and how much it would cost. She was open, frank, kind, and professional, stating, she could do it if we wanted, but in reality it would cost more to have it hemmed than the original price tag. We choose not to hem. But what an honor to meet a hard working business woman with the honesty and integrity to educate her customers so they can make informed decisions. Thank you, Ms. Lucy, we will be back with our alteration needs. Bravo! read more

Nice lady, ready when said it would be. Fair price, good job. Parking is ok given it's small but cars leave soon enough. Not an obvious location but but if you find the Chinese restaurant The next building over. read more

Lucy is simply the best. I have a cocktail dress that's one size too large (seller sent the wrong size and it's the last one). But I really liked it so i went on yelp seeking a good alteration service. And I'm so glad that I've found Lucy. She does everything herself so you'll be in good hands. Just a few look, she was able to tell my dress is from a European brand, which it is. She told me it's doable but it's a complex job so it will take about two weeks. That's totally understandable, and two weeks later, the dress fits me perfectly! And price is reasonable ,too! read more

Do you need alterations? The answer is always yes. Your clothes will fit better, you will look better and feel like a million dollars if you get your clothes altered. This is the only place I take my alterations. The owners can do it all from hemming pants to taking in (or letting out) fancy dresses. Even when they doubted they could do a very messed up table runner I can back and they had found a way to make it look great! They are always timely and have exceeded my expectations on everything. Come support this great business! read more

Talk about service with a smile. Lucy is the only person you want to see on Oahu for an alteration. She is up front with what she can and cannot do for alterations and tells you the pricing. Be sure to bring cash or check with you and when she asks you to try on your garment, just try it on. She wants to make sure that it fits right and that you're happy with it. Thanks again, Lucy! read more

I had a very difficult alteration job and while I tried a few other places first who said they could not do it, Designer Alterations accepted the job. Lucy did such an amazing job that the pants look like they were originally made to those dimensions! Very highly recommend! read more

If you are looking to get anything altered this is the place to go!!! The owner is absolutely amazing and sweet. I went in with my extremely detailed wedding dress that needed the straps shortened, waist/hips brought in, and the bottom hemmed. I was just a walk in and she was able to evaluate what needed to be done very quickly. And less than a week later the dress was done! It fits like a glove now and the price was extremely reasonable. Can't recommend more! read more

This is my go-to location for alterations! I won't go anywhere else! Ample parking Execllent sewing Fair pricing She is professional and super honest. I recently brought in a few pairs of jeans I needed hemmed. She said, "I see the tags still on them. I'm afraid to hem them up when they're new because they might shrink after you wash and dry them." I didn't think if that!!! So she suggested I wash and dry them first! She saved me from making a costly mistake (the jeans were $75 each!!!). She does that all the time...passes up making money to make sure the end result for me, are professionally tailored clothing!!! She has turned down business that I've brought in, telling me. "Sister, that looks good. We don't need to change it at all!" I only trust her! You should too! You will not be disappointed with the quality you will get! She's the best! read more

Thanks to my mom who encouraged me to take sewing lessons, I can do simple things like hem pants, sew a dress, and patch holes. Men's clothing is something else... When my nephew needed to shorten the sleeves on his jacket for prom, I wasn't able to do this complex task. My brother-in-law read some Yelp reviews, found Designer Alterations, chose this business and has no regrets! They were quick, efficient, pleasant, and perfect! My nephew got compliments on his jacket and was so happy! No one knew that the sleeves were shortened from the bottom and the buttons were sewn back in all the right places! We highly recommend Designer Alterations!! It's located in the T. Yogi Building on Kamehameha Highway - between Kaneohe Bakery and New Mui Kwai Restaurant. It's on the bottom floor of this two-story building with Viet Thai Restaurant and the "feed store" (Kaneohe Farm Supplies) as its neighbors. read more

I'm not surprised this place has 5 stars, it's ran by a single hardworking seamstress and she does a great job doing so. I was a first time customer and came in expecting to pay around 50 dollars. I was charged $19 for 3 repairs on a single garment that was done in a couple days during busy prom season. If your are reading this I would consider raising your prices, if not double. The services you provide are exceptionally skilled and worth more money in today's day and age. read more

Just had my pants hemmed, but other places coat twice as much, take twice as long and do only half as good a job!

I've been to a number of tailor and alteration shops over the years and I can say that Lucy is one of the best. Talented, professional, reliable and quick...it's easy to see that she pours her heart into her work and will do whatever she can to accommodate your needs. I've used her to alter trousers, shirts and suits and all have come out exactly as I wanted. Beyond skills though, Lucy is an incredible, warm and friendly person. I take all my alterations here and they do a great job at a fair price. I would give them 6 stars but Yelp only allows 5. Lucy is also a very nice lady and a real pleasure to deal with. Lucy was very nice and finished 4 alterations on time as scheduled. Happy with results. Will use again.

Went to Lucy to get my wedding dress hemmed. She was so patient and sweet throughout the whole process. I appreciate her being honest about the level of work needed to hem my dress. She took the time to get everything right and didn't rush at all, even when people started lining up at the shop. Best of all, my dress came out perfect! Lucy gives everyone the special time and attention they need; I'll continue to see her whenever I need alterations in the future. Highly recommend anyone needing alterations to see Lucy! read more

Everything about my experience here was amazing. They were super friendly and professional. They were very detailed in marking my alterations. They delivered on time and the fit is perfect! I highly recommend for any alterations. Their eye for detail and professionalism is worth the price. read more

Friendly, excellent service and quality! Took a patch in to be sewn onto a gi. Good hours and lots of parking.

The reviews don't lie. Super friendly service and quality work! Would come back in a heartbeat.

Not really sure how this place has FIVE starts, because I came in to get a simple panel put into the back of my dress. It has a square cut out (using the very long trains fabric). And she said she can't do something so complicated. Barley looked at the dress even. Really disappointed, because this is the only place that has any good reviews. I guess they were all for things that ONLY needed to be hemmed. Super annoying. Edit: I got the exact alteration I was looking for elsewhere (in town). The lady that did it said it was fairly simple and had it done in less than a week. My dress turned out perfect. read more

My new go to tailor. I was referred to them by other friends!!! They tailored my uniforms for work and I feel 110% better in them! I live far but will drive to Kaneohe to Designer Alterations for tailoring. I dropped off two pairs of my pilot uniforms to tailor because they were too big. I dropped off one long sleeves and short sleeve shirt plus two pants, did the measurements. I picked them up the next couple of days with rush order. They have the best customer service and very friendly. read more
