We felt like we were on a honeymoon for a couple richer than we are. We spent 2019 frantically and stressfully moving states, starting two new jobs and planning a wedding in a different city. In all of that chaos, we knew one thing was being attentively cultivated and taken care of - our honeymoon. We'd decided pretty early on to book with Designed Travel. That turned out to be the best decision ever! From before we arrived in country David made everything seriously non-complicated. We had an app with all of our travel documents / itinerary and even interesting things to do in each location. From the moment we touched down, we never had to guess about where we were supposed to be and when - or how we were getting there. We had private black SUVs, boats and shuttle services. The best of the best resorts - location and amenities. My husband and I jokingly began saying to each other pretty early into the honeymoon that we'd never travel without an advisor again. But I know that's absolutely true now. And 9/10 it will be David and designed travel!

This a VERY late but very necessary review. David helped us plan our honeymoon to Thailand and Cambodia in Dec 2019 and it was amazing! After planning a wedding and then immediately starting grad school the last thing I wanted to do was plan a honeymoon- David stepped right in and took over. He asked for our preferences throughout the process and created the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation!

I've always had a great desire to travel but until meeting David I've had the hardest time pulling the trigger on booking. I've always been afraid of missing critical details, traveling during the wrong season, forgetting Covid requirements, tourist traps, and the never ending FOMO on booking the right adventures once I get there. I interviewed 3 different travel advisors before hiring David and to start I gave him a long list of the things I wanted out of a trip. He came back with a bespoke menu of options I never would have thought to even google on my own! I ended up going on a trip to Malta and Germany for my first trip and it was packed with amazing hotels, restaurant reservations, tours, and even a chartered sailboat. The best part is you just show up! It's all taken care of from beginning to end. David even found a way to pack in little VIP surprises that I never would have been able to get on my own. If you enjoy spending 15 hours reading TripAdvisor reviews about which hotels and restaurants to book for your next trip, only to end up with the same 7/10 trip everyone else does then go right ahead. If you're looking for a time saving VIP experience that leaves you with a trip that is out of this world than give David the opportunity show you what he can do.

I recommend staying away from the Photo Gallery on Norwegian Cruise Lines. I regretfully spent over 4 hours of time in the buying process. I am now thinking that it is better to take your photos home and print your own locally. It will take less time. I paid over $370 for 5 pictures ($150), a hard cover photo book upload service ($85) and Iris Pics ($189) Each service had problems. Now the people who work there were fabulous. Please do not think anything negative about the workers in the store, including the manager. The problems are deeper in this company and need higher management to address. The problems are integrity in advertising and a process that misleads you on hpw much time you will have to give up on your vacation. Each pitch for each service I bought used enough overstatement and deception in both the artistic and verbal presentation that I as the customer did not receive nor experience the service so described. I think customers have a right to know the true quality of the service provided. If you still want what they actually provide and look past the deceptive advertising and verbal claims, then you can make your purchase with full knowledge of what you are buying. The Iris photo ads have vibrant colors, blue, brown, green. The actual product comes out mostly grey with an unrequested explanation about how the picture really represents your eyes. My eyes are blue green. My girlfriend has green eyes. Our pictures look nothing like the ads on promanent display next to the eye camera machine and nothing like how our eyes actually look to other people The photo book upload service was promised to be easy and well done by AI. "Simple, quick, easily edited, great results. My girlfiend spent an hour gathering pictures and two hours in the photo gallery getting frustrated that AI chose so poorly and because it was impossible to resize or crop pictures that AI chose. It is better and easier and more fun to use another online service. Maybe you want the NCL stock photos in the book, but you can purchase expecting it to absorb 3 hours of your time with technical challenges The 5 pictures promised us a digital copy. For $150, i was thinking i would receive a thumb drive. Instead they give you a QR code to goto their website and download your pictures. Sounds simple, like 5 min tops. But the process took me 30 min because the website has some nonuser friendly steps and pop ups. At $30 per picture, i think the customer service should include actually delivering the product to me as advertised and verbally promised, not making me deliver it to myself. This company fails in the areas of integrity in marketing, product delivery and meeting the expectations they create in the customer. The business model puts too much work on the customer for the prices charged. We ended up at the photo gallery at least 5 times including several evenings after 8pm to pick up photo hard copies. I would rather have done a piano bar, karaoke, or a theater performance with my time. Why not deliver the photos to the room? I think the reason they get away with such a misdescribed process and exaggerated promises is because the cruise ship delivers you to them in a captive pool of customers. They set up photo shoots as you board to suck you into the process. Most cruisers only shop once and do not want to take more time from enjoying their vacation to address the issues for future guests. So I want to get this information to you before you take the cruise. I hope to save you 2-4 hours of headache. And yet, you are free to spend the money and get the pics if you do not mind the time it takes or the experience being less than promised. For some, money does not matter. For some, time does not matter. If you do not have a camera, maybe you will love the experience and value the pics. If you do have options, i recommend exercising your options. Have more fun. Avoid some frustration. Bon Voyage.

We had a great time on our 36th anniversary, and everyplace they planned was great. We went to Orcas Island, San Juan/Friday Harbor, and Walla Walla. The B&B at Orcas was exceptional - Otters Pond. The owner, a CIA chef, had the best breakfasts ever and the view from the B&B was spectacular. The B&B at Friday Harbor, Tucker House was perfectly located, and again the breakfast was delivered to our room and delicious. Their COVID protocol was exceptional. Our Walla Walla stay was at The Finch, downtown and walking distancing to all the wine bars and restaurants. Cara set up all the day trips - E Bike, Tesla Wine Taste, and the best one was the Bike and Sunset dinner in San Juan (see photo). We biked to Lime Kiln Point State Park and were served wine and dinner while watching the sun set. It was awesome. Everything was planned in great detail. I loved having the Trip Plans APP set up for everyday activity with locations and phone numbers. Cara was always there, checked up on us a couple of time. WE LOVED IT! My first, but not last time using ABHT. We are looking forward to the next trip .... Gotta come up with one!

As the groom, I took on "honeymoon planning," and to be honest, was struggling at it. Feeling overwhelmed, I reached out to Lexi, who in the past had planned a vacation for us in Italy (which was stunning). I was on the phone with Lexi within 24 hours, describing what we were looking for in a honeymoon and asking if her service would be a good fit for us. She was honest with us in what her service could provide, and we ended up giving her the keys to our honeymoon. It was perfect. Lexi was careful about respecting our budget, and with that in mind, gave us 3-4 realistic options for trips we could take. We settled on Anguilla -- an island I had literally never heard of -- with an extra stop in St. Martin, and it was everything we had asked for. Side note, if you enjoy beautiful beaches, wonderful people, relaxation and delicious food, go to Anguilla. The BEST part about working with Lexi is that the experience does not end when the planning is finished. Lexi was available to us throughout the trip, from packing and pre-departure, and then during the trip for things as simple as finding us the best rental cars, modifying our reservations while we relaxed at the beach, or finding the coolest little spots to explore. A final note on how helpful Lexi is - there was an unfortunate death in our family while we were on the honeymoon. Lexi was immediately available and helpful in evaluating our options and planning our return home. While I hope that doesn't come up during a vacation for anyone else, if it does, you want Lexi on your team. I cannot recommend her more highly.

Barbara's response time is incredibly slow. I looked back on my email history and my first email to…read moreher was sent on 4/5 but trip details wasn't finalized until 4/25. All she had to do was book lodging in 2 cities, train tickets between cities, and one tour. On top of slow response time, she offers little travel insight. She also charges a fee for her services, first time I have ever been charged by an agent, and felt stuck with her as a result. My next annoyance was lack of customer service. I called her to introduce myself and she blurted out all these things she wanted me to put in an email for her to start trip planning. Personally, it would have been more professional for her to provide me a quick questionnaire to fill out to make sure she had all the necessary information. Then as she was slowly booking things, at one point I had asked if she could put all this information into one summarized document. I'm not asking for much here... and her response was, "Unfortunately, they are all E-documents through separate emails. I suggest you print them all out as paper document to take with you, while keeping the bookings/confirmations in your email as back up." Hmm, weird because every travel agent I have worked with in the past always provided me a summary sheet without me even asking. Had she taken the extra 5-10 minutes to just PDF all the documents into one neat file for me because that was all these separate documents were, she might have actually come off as a professional instead of lazy. This just further agitated me that I had to dig through a bunch of back and forth correspondence with her to find these documents. When I arrive in Rome, my annoyance with Barbara just goes through the roof. My accommodations in Rome is not this cute modern apartment that I was shown but a gross old Italian mess with couches dating back to my grandmothers era. The place is so dusty that my husband and I were congested every night (it was fine once we were outside). At that point, I lost it and sent Barbara a pretty nasty email. After almost a full day of travel, I just wanted to relax and I was far from that. I asked her at one point in our correspondence, prior to my trip, if the place she booked was like an airbnb, which I did not want, and she assured me it was not and ran by a hotel group. It wasn't. It was basically some Italian guy who's father owned a couple units in this building and they were doing short-term rentals. I should know, I own a short-term rental so I am very familiar with all this. Upon my disappointment with the place, the guy tells me the hours he's available which on Sunday was like 12pm-7pm. Does this sound like a hotel management group? Shouldn't Barbara have researched into this a little farther if i specifically asked her if this was like an airbnb? Had she simply googled the name of this residence she would have seen on other sites that there are different apartments types but she only looked at TripAdvisor and there was not much reviews. Fact is, she did little to no due diligence and now I was stuck in something I would have never agreed to had I known the truth. I told her I was scared of what she put me in for the Venice portion of our trip but she cancelled that because they had issues with my credit card... a total blessing in disguise since that was probably another airbnb. Barbara suggested we do a late train to Venice and our arrival wouldn't be until 11pm so chances were I probably had no way of getting into the apartment because she didn't think to ask about all these details prior. Her knowledge of travel is either very antiquated or she's just careless or both. I don't know but either way I paid the price for it. I spent my first day in Rome scrambling and researching to find a new hotel for Venice. Barbara offers to help but I have lost all trust and faith in her. I also wonder if she only reached out because i started cc-ing my friend who referred me to her. Barbara calls me and tells me that my "expectations and price don't go hand in hand." Such a huge slap in the face when I was already boiling with anger in a crappy old apartment and it didn't make that much sense to me because I have stayed in Europe before and have always been able to find nicer hotels in this price range. Upon my review of our emails, I point out to her with our email as backup, that she misunderstood my budget and it was in fact DOUBLE of what she thought. Had she carefully read my email to her early on or clarified with me if she was unsure, this mess perhaps could have been avoided. I tell Barbara that I should be refunded for my accommodations in Rome because I specified to her early on I didn't want an old style place or something that was ran like an airbnb. She tells me if I feel this way, I should take it up with my credit card company. What a great way to end my vacation when I go home... argue charges because my travel agent didn't do her job.

I contacted Barbara about booking a group trip (10-20 people) and to get a quote. I sent her all…read morethe information I had found on Expedia so she could research options. She replied that I was looking for a "deal"... well of course I am! What person when booking a trip isn't looking for a deal? Should I be paying double? Her reply was rude, arrogant and extremely unprofessional. She wasn't willing to help me unless I was to pay a consulting fee, which is strange because every other travel agent/agency I have contacted is willing to do so. I wish I could rate her service/business as -5 stars. Unless you have a relationship with this woman, or are willing to pay her special "fee" don't bother to contact her.
