When I wasn't able to speak because I was in a meeting, she texted with me to ensure that the order was placed ASAP. I ordered the carpet on a Friday and it was installed the following Wednesday. All was well at first. They came out right away and quoted me at $2500 and ensured that if I placed the order now they would have plenty of time to receive and install the carpet before our big visit. Once I agreed and they charged my card the down payment, I get a phone call almost a week later telling me that their distributor mis-quoted and that the new price is $3300. I was upset because I felt like this was a bait and switch since they knew I was in a bind, plus I didn't see how it was our fault that they didn't get their numbers correct. If our business misquoted our clients you better believe we would be eating that cost. However, we eventually negotiated to split the increase and he ensured me that all was well with our deadline. Two days before they are scheduled to install, four days before my deadline, they tell me that they can't get the carpet in time even though UPS offers NDA and Saturday delivery. They threw their distributor under the bus yet refused to let me contact them to see if I could get the carpet shipped direct through our UPS account. They were completely unwilling to work with me on installing another day and gave me no other options. I could tell that they didn't want to do the work due to their previous mistakes making the job less profitable for them. I understand that to a point, but as a I now have to explain to my boss why the carpet is not being replaced it's my ass on the line. Bottom Line: Shady business practices that will leave you in the lurch.

Went to a couple newly opened suburban stores. Both guys running the show at each store were ex-carpet installers who seemed burned out physically from all the hard work over the years. All the suburban locals took my number with the promise of a callback the following day. Nobody called. Worth the drive to Carpet Capitol and easy access off 90. This place should train service oriented businesses how sell to a customer. Simple: Listen, ask questions, stay on track, respect, find solution. Bam. Sale. I just might have to replace my carpet every year to experience this fine place over and over. Maybe that's why they are get so many new customers from the far East and West stretches of NEO.

There was floor repair needed this time and honestly, I was a little nervous how they were going to handle it, but I'm a fool for even carrying that notion as they made it look like there never was a giant piece of wood slapped on the floor after shoddy duct work was performed years back and promptly hidden with carpet. It took a little bit for something to get scheduled, but it happened. I had the room ready for them when they arrive and moved out all items so they literally could get started without delay. Charlie and Gary arrived on time each morning and were ever so passionate about their work. Seriously, to see them excited about their job says so much. They are professionals at what they do and were friendly as hell too. We are more than happy with the results and the finished floor makes the room so much better. It took 2 days and, even though it was a fricking monsoon outside while they made the repairs and restored the floor, Charlie and Gary didn't miss a beat. They were able to fix the floor, sand it down, and put a few applications of stain down making the floors look amazing. They finished up on a Friday afternoon and offered to come back later in the day to install trim and the closet doors and were back as promised still in great moods. Charlie even left me with some stain and putty as I told him I was going to remove a metal transition in time and replace it with a wood one. Dude even took the time to tell me all the steps I should take to make that transition perfect and it wasn't a forced attempt - he wanted to share his knowledge. I can not tell you how rare of a quality that is where the crew is legitimately excited to do their work and marvel at the results. Made me so happy to use them again to support their venture. Owner Jesse came out a few days later to check out the results and that was that. I gave her pretty much the same feedback about the crew as I have written here, and she talked about them like they were her own blood. Sure it might have taken a minute to get on their schedule, but let's face it, there's a ton of folk out there with projects and not too many professional companies to attend immediately. I personally did not mind the wait as the outcome was perfect. Kudos to CHR for once again exceeding my expectations and taking a destroyed, abused wood floor and making it into something beautiful.
