I know this wasn't cheap, but they know how much I love plants -- I have over 100 indoor plants -- so it was such a thoughtful and meaningful gift. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this company due to its replacement policy and customer service. Even with a green thumb and years of experience caring for plants, almost half of the plants I received did not survive for more than a month. What is disappointing is that the company only offers a replacement or refund within 3 days of receiving the plants. Plants are living things, and sometimes issues do not become apparent immediately. A better policy would allow customers enough time to see whether the plants are truly healthy. For comparison, companies like Costa Farms have a much more customer-friendly return policy, which shows they stand behind the quality of their plants. The person who emailed my daughter today after she reached out for help was also unfriendly and unhelpful, which made the experience even more disappointing. I truly appreciate the thoughtful gift from my children -- the idea was perfect because they know me so well -- but unfortunately, this company did not live up to the expectations that came with such a special gift.

We constantly get compliments on the appearance of our home. Samantha was the landscape architect who created the design, and it was amazing to see her lay out the vision. She saved us space in ways I definitely couldn't have conceived of on my own. She said the remodel would be like doubling our living space, and she was right! Scott oversaw the construction from start to finish. He was very attentive and obviously cared about and was fully invested in the success of the project. He had an expertise with plants and gave great guidance to give me the colors I wanted in plants that would work for our space and the SoCal heat. I am constantly smiling at the plants Scott suggested. They are thriving, and I wouldn't change a thing. The crew was respectful, clean and did a beautiful job. It was a long project, but Pacific Outdoor kept their initial timeline. Our main reason for going with Pacific Outdoor was that they were a one-stop shop. They could do everything. They truly delivered, and it is better than we ever imagined! It was so easy to look at their choices and select what we wanted. They had a wide variety of design choices. We replaced most of the grass in the back with their pavers and used the same pavers for our driveway. They look fantastic. We have a neighbor that had Pacific Outdoor build them a firepit that they love. We received great guidance and attention from the full team all along the way. I would also caution anyone considering going with System Pavers to steer clear of those crooks. I wasted thousands of dollars having them do a terrible job on my pool deck, and had to have Pacific rip out their work and fix it. It was an expensive mistake that I hope to save others from repeating. If I had gone with Pacific in the first place, I would have saved lots of money and hassle. We decided to clean up the area so we could host an important family event, and our search led to Gio and his team. He responded quickly, and we discussed what we were looking for in re-purposing the rear 1/3 of our property. He described his vision and methods, and provided a very reasonable quote. We decided to move forward, and we left it up to him to provide and plant what was needed to create a perfect space that was both functional for entertainment and really pleasant to just relax and enjoy. Gio and his team did not disappoint. He met (and exceeded) our expectations, and stuck to the schedule and budget. And he didn't just create planter areas and new lawn, he also installed a paver walkway to match our existing patio stones. When he was finished with the original scope, he offered to maintain the rear yard to make sure our investment (and his hard work) would continue to look as good as the day he finished. He is not a typical "mow-blow-& go" gardening service. When he and his team arrive, they look around, see whatever needs care and attention, make everything right, and leave every inch of the yard neatly trimmed and clean. Guy shows up to my house a full hour early while I'm at work still. He gave me a 2-4pm window and comes at 1pm. 3. I try to find a time to reschedule (there's no emergency here thankfully) and he says it's 1000 dollars plus the repair to come on a Sunday. 4. Says photos will be taken down like in the past. Clearly this isn't the first time. There are a lot of companies to choose from please pick someone else.

And Rudy was also helpful with a smile and without any of the attitude about helping a lady look for a special piece of hardware. I was a little sad when that old lumber yard place closed, mostly because Rudy. Now, I'd also go over to Bourget bros for garden rocks and the occasional drill bit. And yall could not imagine how delighted I was that BB had the wisdom to hire Rudy! I think higher of the whole establishment in general because of it. Our fella Rudy is working in the paint department and two weeks ago he helped me make some duplicate keys I needed. He's still being awesome. If you need paint or key or anything in Rudy's department, do yourself a favor and see this gem of a human. I snapped a lil pic to show my husband that Rudy is helping me. (I hope that cool with R.) I just think he's a hardworking, nice fella and I'm happy he's still working nearby. In my mind he's part of all the little things I like about living in SM. My father-in-law passed away during the job, but everything had already been demolished so they finished the job. There have been so many times. I've reached out to them within the first year because that is their warranty and I was told multiple times "it passed inspection" when the safety rails that were put in the shower fell out because they were not screwed into a stud of any kind they were only screwed through the tile I was told they weren't put in for you, so why are you using them they were for your father-in-law and he's not there. It doesn't matter because it's in my house. I have the right to use it. he did send Freddie out a couple times to put them back in. He never put even an anchor in when he screwed them into the tile. The shower was leaking and causing damage to the wall and his worker. Freddie came out and put a new baseboard on and said there didn't fix the problem that was going on. Just tried to cover it up. Now that I'm 15 months out from my job and no longer under warranty one of the pipes burst in the wall flooding my master bedroom and my master bathroom, after the demolition was done, we were able to see all of the violations that occurred and what their true work is. Which I will attach the pictures his worker cut into a four 4 x 4 on the outside of my wall which is a weight-bearing beam did not do any reinforcement just cut into it to make a shelf for the shower. The hot mop that they installed they pulled out because they forgot to do the correct steps. Meaning it was a roll in shower and they had put a lip on it so it would've been a step in shower. They ended up just putting the tiles on the bear cement with no water proofing not to mention there was no insulation put back into the walls and the plumbing looks like a five-year-old did it. No wonder it burst after 15 months the heater and air conditioning unit they installed were too big for the ventilation I had in my house which he knew. They ended up suffocating themselves and shutting down to brand new units and come to find out my house could've caught on fire cause they were wired in properly. I guess that is what you get when you don't ask questions are below please if you have any more questions, ask me. this is only some of the issues I had. I can tell you a list of 100 and more.

He also redid all of the first floor lighting, totally elevating the design of my home. New engineered wood floors throughout the first floor as well. He was fast, on time, efficient. As I heard horror stories from friends on their remodels, I was especially grateful to have Guy. Literally every day someone was working on the house - whether it was dry wall or electricians or plumbing or the floor guys. I was able to stay in the house during the remodel since my bedroom is upstairs and we hung in the yard and grilled for a substitute kitchen. Guy also helped with some other to do's I had like fix a window with a leak and also repair some water damage in a bathroom. I will use High Touch again when I redo my bathrooms and build an ADU. I want to share a contractor experience that I regret, in case it helps someone else…read more The owner, Joseph Shimoni came to my home and used prolonged, high-pressure sales tactics. I repeatedly asked for time to think, but the conversation kept being pushed until I eventually signed just to end the situation. Once the dust settled, I compared prices and realized I was charged several times more than other licensed contractors quoted for comparable work. The quality of what was delivered did not justify the cost and looked rushed. When I raised concerns, I was talked down to rather than supported. My takeaway: never sign under pressure, always get multiple bids, and don't confuse smooth sales talk with quality or fairness.

After a particularly bad experience with another contractor (that we are literally still paying for years later as their work has begun catastrophically failing), it was incredibly refreshing to work with Jonah and his team. As with all construction jobs, things came up on ours, but Jonah took care of everything. These guys had a great attitude and I never felt afraid to bring up any concern to them, even if there was any disagreement -- again, not something I can say about our last contractor. That being said, the one small piece of advice I have if you work with Surfside is to really double check the feasibility and implementation of any "custom" or non-standard parts of your build. This could easily be alleviated by working with a designer, which we did not do, so just be sure to do your due diligence in pushing for feasibility checks early on so you don't end up having to redo any work. Even with the small bumps along the way, with contractors I've learned attitude is everything. These guys do great work, but more importantly with a good attitude! We are planning to redo our kitchen in the future and our current plan is to go with Surfside again, which I think really says it all.
