Michaels - Item purchased from the website. Marked fragile, yet box arrived dented and with tape ripped along the top.

This package containing a new item really doesn't make me happy. I understand that items don't…read morealways come from the fulfillment warehouse and must occasionally be picked from a returns center. What burns my toast is the clear disregard of the box's content as a fragile item. Clearly, this package was mishandled by UPS (the original freight carrier), by USPS (SurePost), or both. Still, had it been properly packed and securely strapped at the origin point, the incident of damage could've been mitigated significantly. As it stands, it bloody well better not be in any condition other than perfect when I open it. Nicely packed against damage inside the box. Too bad y'all didn't send what I actually purchased. Dropping this review from the two stars I had to one star, because COME ON. Don't pass your ineptitude on to the consumer. I have better things to do that tussle around with returning the wrong purchase to the point of origin at a returns center. You all owe me a drink.

Worst packaging job EVER! I bought 10 wooden painting projects, (ships, houses, race cars, castles…read moreetc.) for projects for my grandchildren to do when they come visit gramma. They were packed in a made up box from a larger box and it was at least 3 to 4 times bigger than all of the items combined which they put all in one box. There were exactly 4 pieces of packing paper, all different sizes, barely crumpled up inside, placed on top of the items and doing absolutely nothing to keep the individual pieces from crashing into each other. The paper served no purpose what so ever. The different pieces were not wrapped individually in bubble wrap, tissue or any other form of packing material that would prevent them from being damaged. They just jostled and banged around the whole time during shipment. Consequently, 5 of the wooden structures where broken and destroyed. The box was crushed and the tape was falling off and there was a gaping hole left where the tape did not secure the package. Crazy!!! Second, what I ordered came from one of Michael's, "return" facilities. Did I get broken returned goods?? Who knows. Very, very unhappy. Customer service did me right but honestly, there never should have been a problem in the first place. I have shopped this way with Michael's many times before and this has not been the first issue, I just finally decided to complain and do something about it. This "return/distribution center" was located in Fort Worth, Texas and I live in a totally different state. The pieces I ordered noted on the website that they were available from different Michael's stores that I purchased them from in my state. So why did they come from Texas??? Whomever packed it should be reprimanded and given a stern warning that their job is on the line. Like someone reviewed before, the package was obviously mishandled by whomever was the shipper, however, I feel that had it been packaged correctly there would not have been a problem. I am now seriously considering not purchasing anything through Michael's again because of this experience. If you want something valuable, please take into great consideration the chances of it's not arriving safely are less than likely as far as I am concerned. Think twice, three and four times. I know I will the next time...if there is a next time. Probably not. Extremely unhappy!

They were having an amazing sale so I splurged and got a TON of stuff! (see below) I was driving through Fort Worth during spring break so I asked about local pickup to save on shipping and Amy was super nice about it, saying that local pickup is actually an option they regularly offer. She even helped me get an item that I wanted that was listed as out of stock on the website! When I arrived at the location for pickup, Michael was just as nice as Amy had been. My haul.... *a "starter kit" (I am so not a starter, but couldn't resist) containing about 9 pens with single tip on one end and a variety of different sized tips on the other, a palette of wax, 5 small green trays, 1 small white tray with spout, baggies, a blue tray and penholder, stickers, a grouping of small plastic bins, all neatly held in a large plastic storage back (think pencil holder). *6 large white trays with removeable dam *and a hard plastic tube to protect my WIPs when I take them places with me. (this color was out of stock online but Amy knew they had one left and held it for me- she was able to give me a direct invoice for my entire purchase so I could get the teal one)

You can use a thin "pen" to pick up diamond pieces one at a time or you can use a thicker pen to quickly drop lots of pieces. I prefer the thick pens. The art isn't limited to just making a picture look great. There are notebooks, greeting cards, jewelry, bookmarks and so much more. This store is going to have classes as they expand. The rolling tube that holds the artwork is one of a kind. The warehouse was sold out of them during my visit.
