    Bombas socks!

This really is an amazing store! If you frequent thrifting - you know they can be hit or miss. The prices are extremely fair unlike some secondhand stores that are increasing their prices (whyyyy!!!!). The associates are friendly and seem to be working at all times to keep the store stocked, clean and have an efficient checkout. I think we visit once every other month or so..whenever I get the thrift itch! Lol My son & I decided to go treasure hunting today at Deseret. We have never walked out emptyhanded here. Today, I found 8 pairs of kids bombas socks for $8. My 3 year old son enjoys picking out trucks/vehicles to add to his massive toy collection since the toys are $1 each. There is no shortage of toys. Last year, we found a $3 big grab bag of hot wheels cars. I have found a few antique "salvage" items to repurpose them into a second life from other visits. It's just a luxury that I feel that this store is actually able to sell donated items that are affordable. This current economy is rough & I have found myself slowing down my "firsthand" shopping on new items unless it's on sale, I have a coupon of some sort or am being given something for free. It is guilt free shopping & you never know what you will find here Pictures: kids bombas socks @ $1/each & some funky fish flip flops my son found but we didn't buy :)

I drive by this place pretty often, and I kept thinking this place is pretty big for a pastry shop. I thought the sign read Dessert Industries. But imagine my surprise, and it was still a sweet surprise but for the soul. It's a store or thrift store, whatever you prefer, but it's a store with clothing, furniture, books, accessories, etc. I staged homes a lot in my business, and I own properties. So, I'm always on the hunt for beautiful pieces for the business side of things and the personal side. The amount of furnishing and unique pieces here had me at a loss for words. I'm sure it's some great stories and deep history behind these pieces. I could feel it! These pieces weren't your average furniture pieces; these pieces spoke of a long-ago history. It's safe to say I always rent out a storage room wherever I go. I also found more than a couple of recipe books dating way back. I don't think I took a picture of all of them. But there were several books dating back from when recipes were simple, like the Betty Crockett books. It's very nice to have them for the recipes but for old-time's sake too. Also, they had really unique pieces of art to go on your walls and cute centerpieces to put on your table. It wasn't anything you could not find here. It's a favorite, and I'm sure it'll be a favorite of yours.

This place never disappoints! I shop at several Thrift shops in this area and Tomball & Cypress. This one is my Total Fav! I've found many many amazing items! From dishes, shoes, Cds, clothes! Omg. My fav times to go is weekday and mid mornings. Wknds are definitely busier..but all in all it's always a food time to go! You Never know what You will find! Prices are Great and even better than Goodwill!

Found this in June, but for only $3 it was worth putting away and waiting for!

This place has both, and despite its impressive array of goods from clothes to furniture, it's well organized and easy to navigate. I'm normally a neutral-color dresser but some of the clothes encourage me to step out of my comfort zone into some louder designs. Additionally, the walls are all lined with non-clothing items for sale -- books, movies, glassware, water bottles, and more. I don't think I've ever come a cross a thrift store with this much versatility. Out of the Closet is serious about HIV/AIDS advocacy and they prove it by putting their money where their mouth is. Like many other thrift stores in Montrose, you can expect marked up (but still fair) prices compared to the larger ones with piles upon piles of clothes to sift through. 96% of all proceeds at this store, however, go toward supporting the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Free condoms are offered near the cashier counter; free HIV testing and a not-for-profit pharmacy sits in the back. The roots of thrifting inherently lie in supporting the community. This is usually accomplished through the affordability of everyday items, but this shop takes it to the next level by showing their dedication to safe sex and access to healthcare. Give this place a visit the next time you cruise through Westheimer -- they deserve your time more than you know.

For a markup price, but still no where near what you'd pay at a retail store, Pavement filters a lot of the boring thrift items out. That way, you're more likely to find something you like without having to look too hard. Some of the finds here are quite impressive. I've bought a couple of graphic tees over the years, never paying more than $15 each despite them looking new. One of them has even landed in my rotation about once a week. Pavement's role as a trendy semi-thrift store works well for its location; I often find myself popping in for only 20-30 minutes, either right before or after grabbing a bite with friends, because that's all the time I need to browse the already-curated merchandise. In short, this is a great place to upgrade your wardrobe without breaking the bank or combing through hundreds of pieces at a time. The chances of walking out with something in hand is still hit or miss, similarly to any conventional thrift store, but I like my odds way better when I walk in here.

Used bikes shouldn't be $200 as that's ridiculous. A new bike would cost that much. A few of the furniture is outdated and not in a vintage way, but at least from the 80s. Some of it looks like pieces from popular furniture stores and they were unscathed. I did see a familiar piece of furniture that is up to date and since all furniture is currently 50% off, they are reasonably priced to sell. The staff are talkers so beware if you thinking you can casually browse without being spoken to. Staff members seem to like to follow you around just to spark up a conversation with you which can be annoying. It happened to my friend and I three times. Twice by one staff member who was strongly trying to convince us to buy an article of furniture and another time by guy who followed us onto the second layer of the store. I even noticed that did it to other consumers as well. The purse and shoe collection appeared to be well stocked with the selection being very nice from cowboy boots, running shoes, to leather engraving purse. Huge store.

It may be an accident but I still called to speak to a manager. First I was sent around the whole Goodwill circuit trying to locate the right store. I called the number on my receipt but it was taking me elsewhere. I finally reached a manager and she was super snappy and rude. She asked if I'd returned to the store yet? I told her no, I'd just discovered the incident. She could not answer how this would be resolved over the phone. I'm going back up there today and will update this thread. I hope I'm given store credit since I was overcharged.

I waited a while and then reached out again to follow up. No response. I also attempted to reach someone by phone. This process was really exasperating, and I eventually gave up and took my items somewhere else. At the very minimum, their confirmation email should've indicated it might take weeks or months to receive a response, if that was the issue. If they did not want the items, all it would've taken would have been a one-line email to let me know. I followed all the instructions on the website. I couldn't bring the items in because the website indicated you could only bring one or two items in on the designated art day, and that if it were more, that you had to submit that form to the art department. It is bizarre to me that I would receive no response to my submissions through these official channels. I also sent a follow up email indicating how unhappy I was with my experience, and I received no response to that either. My advice is to take your items somewhere else for consignment. It is not worth the trouble to do it at The Guild. It was a complete waste of time for me.
