I called this location in advance to plan for dropping off some stuff to sell. On the answering service there was a designated option you can click to learn the protocol on how to sell your stuff. Once you click , it tells you that they take walk ins every day all day-- and all you need is your drivers license. I showed up... drove 20 minutes..: and they said they're not buying anything until 5 pm. It was 2 pm. Oh and they don't accept anything on trash bags. None of this mentioned on their so called phone service. Very inconvenient and inconsiderate read more

Came twice from new caney, about a 45 min drive. Told two different stories every time I come last time a lady told me 10 minutes before 7 pm is the last buy mind you I got there like 5 min before 7. Came two days later got here at 6:35pm and was told the buy counter was closed for the day. ‍ read more

Customer service is poor , verry poor . I came in not once di she bother to greet me back just look at me up and down , African American lady that is on the cashier picked up braids , light skin tone , black mask was very disrespectful spraying behind me and daughter Febreze more than once . Nice clothing , found couple of things but did not purchase . I felt very uncomfortable. December 11,2025 . read more

The staff was rude and didn't greet customers. The store was very unorganized, with clothes scattered everywhere, which made the shopping experience frustrating. read more

4 hours wasted. arrived around 4p from the Galleria area, was told they were on a break so I was told to wait until 5p for them to look at my items. After the took a total of 3 minutes to look at my items they told me they couldn't take anything. I know the employees are all teens that don't get paid enough to care, but I drove an hour each way and was completely disappointed. Also they are only offering store credit, no cash for your items by the way. read more

Not the best service they lowball on the seller selling clothes etc it's been awhile since I went but there are better places to buy and selll read more

The gay black guy that works there has such an ugly attitude towards other people! Visted this location to sell a few items i had in bags but got a nasty remark from the guy saying oh well you can go buy a reusable bag from somewhere. Came with a whole box of clothing from office wear to summer wear & he said it was outdated. I even had a black peacoat in my things but he took over 2 hours to tell me "Unfortunately all these items are out dated sorry!" I politely asked him if he was okay because he gave me attitude earlier that day as well so something must be bothering him! He snap back & said I'm lovely "Are YOU okay?? (With a dumb face) & turned and walked away from me while i gathered my things. read more

Came in here with two trash bags full of clothes BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS ACCEPTED clothes in trash bags! But now they saying they have to be in a box? Why does that matter idk. And only doing store credit not giving out cash. They never promote store credit only cash. This place literally is so horrible read more

I've to many Plato's Closet all across the country and this is the worst one that I've ever been to. I went into the store on a Monday at 3 PM with 2 bags of clothes to sell. They informed me that they were only buying for cash between 10 AM and 2 PM and that they will start buying again at 5 PM but only for store credit. This is a policy that exists at no other Plato's Closet in the country. Additionally, the guy that was working who told me this information had an attitude while speaking to me while I remained nice throughout our short interaction. It's the same guy that that is in the other Yelp reviews I just read here. Two days later, on Wednesday at 12 PM, I came back to try and sell and they said that they were only taking athletic shoes and namebrand purses. I've never heard of a Plato's closet only accepting selected items on a certain day. Of course I wasn't able to sell again because I had all of my clothes collected into two bags like anyone would when they're selling their clothes to Plato's Closet. I really think this location needs to get their stuff together. Their business practices seem inconsistent and poor quality, and the workers are less than nice to the customers, which is honestly the bare minimum when working in customer service. Definitely would never come back here again and wouldn't recommend anyone else to come here either. read more

Employees were nice and welcoming. By far best plato's closet I've sold too. They were quick and gave good offers. I will be coming to sell here from now on! Items were also in season and style, which I loved. They had great brands like Brandy Melville, Princess Polly, and more with great prices. read more

Literally just a big mess. Massive store with nothing of substance, not organized at all, all sizes are mixed in together and many clothes had stains. Closed at 7:30 on a Saturday, though the hours listed say 9 for closing. read more

This has to be the worse place to try to get money for your stuff, 1st off they don't give you money , they give you STORE CREDIT ONLY. Why would i want store credit a garbage dumb? Ppl beware they are liars. So save your time and your gas money. In addition this place is filthy and smells horrible. This place is very unorganized, Goodwill seems more cleaner than this place . All the employees act like it's their first day and never got trained. Just clueless staff looking around. They have homeless ppl outside the their doors. This place is not gonna make it sadly to say. read more

Hello, I went to a platos today, Saturday around 1 pm to sell some clothes and wanted to buy some Uggs that were 15$. The worker told me to leave the Uggs and that I could get them later whenever I get my clothes that I was gonna sell and I listened to her believing I would get my Uggs later. I come back and try to ask for the Uggs just to find out they had already been sold to someone else. Its upsetting because these Uggs are expensive and I was going to buy them earlier but didn't just because I listened to the irresponsible worker that promised me they would be there later. Very upset with the customer service and its not fair or nice to lie to others especially if you promise them something. read more

Great place if you want to come sell your clothes though selection inside is trashy, there are 16 year olds running it and are very picky with what's in style....the employees give me a really ugly vibes... hopefully they train staff on customer service! read more

I'm not sure why this place is so badly reviewed! The selection could be better, but that is not really in control of the employees there. I did find a few really great things at decent prices. The staff was helpful and friendly. read more

People that work here hate their lives, so if you hate your life too, go ahead and waste your time at this sorry ass resale store. They are straight up rude as hell, will turn you away immediately as you enter the door with you heavy load. Do not even give you a chance to ask or speak, just immediately states in a nasty tone that currently they are not taking anymore buy ins. It's honesty a waste of time. I would definitely recommend driving a little further to the heights area and selling to other resale stores who are MUCH NICER, and generous at what they buy. This place is just ridiculously rude and the very few times they choose something to buy, they give you literally chump change. Honestly, don't even waste your time. Just drive out further into town and get yourself a better resale shop. read more

Turned away last night due to only one buyer. Told, "come back tomorrow after 10 am." Returned the next day at 4 pm, was told "we aren't taking any more buys today" I made a suggestion that they can just take my items and text me whenever they get to them. Obviously that doesn't work for them so I guess you just kind of gamble. They did suggest calling before coming but I feel like this can also change within the 20 mins that it takes to get there. Maybe y'all should consider an online reservation system so you don't waste customers time. It's already no longer worth it for me to come back, with my time and cost of fuel. Who knows if you'll even buy anything that I'm offering to sell, so that might just be another wasted trip. read more

Came in at 6:30 their instagram and maps say they close at 7 on sundays. Was rudely told they're closed. Poor service.

Went in last night to sell some old clothes at 7:45 the store closes at 9 . The guy working the front told me they weren't taking anymore buys and to come back at 10am. If you all don't close til 9 and when I called they said to bring clothes 30 mins before close and I was there at 7:45 I should've still been helped correct . I won't be returning to this store . read more

I googled and found this store to sell my clothes that most of them are new with tag. I took 30+ items of clothes and shoes, bag from MK, Zara, Mango, HM and similar. They only chose 12 item and offered 30 dollars for all the 12 items!! Among them which basically was not even half the price of one single item among them that was a Zara skirt with tag or a new tommy shoes!! So basically if the item is originally 60 they say it worths 20 and they will give you 2 dollar for it!! so on and so forth. I will rather donate the clothes rather than selling them that cheap! Don't waste your time and efforts there! read more

If I could give a 0 stars I would. Came in at 12:37 and got told they were looking for shorts and I only brought in shorts so I was pretty excited. The lady told me that it would be 30-40 minutes and I'll get a text letting me know that the stuff they didn't want would be ready. I walked around for 45 minutes waiting for a text and never got one so I waited in my car a hour and a half for them to NOT TEXT ME! So I went in to see if they forgot to text me and they didn't take one of my items because they are looking for "high wasted shorts and lulu Lemmon" I had 7 Nike shorts, 5 underarmor shorts, 4 high wasted jeans shorts and a couple adidas shorts and they didn't take any of it. WASTED MY TIME BY NOT LETTING ME KNOW IT WAS READY AND DIDNT EVEN TAKE ANY OF MY BRANDED ITEMS even though the sign says those are the brands they wanted. The male employee was twerking in front of little children as well. Waste of time and energy. Never going back and do t recommend at all. read more

I wish I could leave no stars. I walked in with 2 big trash bags full of clothes and I set them on the counter, the girl working asked if I had sold with them before and I answered yes. She then proceeded to tell me that they are only looking for "athletic clothes such as lululemon, gymshark and adidas"!! WHAT?!! How is this business going to advertise that they buy and sell clothes if I walk in with 2 big bags and they tell me that they are only looking for certain things?(not to mention pretty high end things in my opinion) Absolutely ridiculous!! I left with my 2 bags and will not be returning. read more

One star only because there is no zero star option. Be careful of the bait and switch. Wide took a bunch of clothes there. Girl said we have an offer then when we got there they said they would only give store credit because we could make it down there the same day offer was made. They all need to take customer service classes. So we are now dropping it off the GoodWill. Will never deal with Plato's again. read more

Please DO NOT waste your valuable time here! I had 2 huge bags of jeans & other great skate shirts, tops, etc. to get offered $13 for it ALL. What an insult. Young people "tabulating" & it's just dumb. Have a garage sale or just donate instead of giving to these CROOKS. They are ready w/excuses too...for the low value they quote u! You know they are going to make $$ on your good stuff. Please DO NOT FALL FOR IT. Bye bye Plato's. Won't shop or buy here, EVER. Suggest you don't either! PS. Last time I came, was offered $ 40 for less items...didn't think it was enough either. Guy in p-lot, Patron, offered me $65. Took it. He didn't even take it all....Good luck u r going to need it! read more

Came with very low expectations because of the reviews of previous customers. The last time I came here was in 2009/2010. BOY HAS IT CHANGED SINCE THEN. It's about 3x bigger than it was. Tops are perfectly color coordinated. Dresses and skirts have a different rack. Shorts are at a different rack. And each rack of clothes has shoes on top of them, also color coordinated. Service was great. Every single worker was friendly. The girl who bought my clothes and offered me a price was very professional. The worker in charge of the fitting rooms made sure everyone got a fitting room in a timely manner. And I got $30 for 7 pieces of clothing, including a few shirts, shorts, dresses, and belts. They were all XXI, AE, Abercrombie. read more

IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND ARE CONSIDERING SELLING TO THIS LOCATION OR ANY OTHER LOCATION MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DROPPING OFF AND MAKE SURE TO CHECK WHAT IS RETURNED TO YOU. KEEP TRACK OF YOUR ITEMS; MISTAKES CAN AND WILL HAPPEN....see below: You need to do a better job training your staff. I am well aware you have lots of potential inventory coming in and out of the store. What happened to me today could have been completely avoided had you taken the time to train your staff properly for the "buying" process. This is especially more important when you have a shift change. Also, I asked multiple times for your managers to contact who they report to or the franchise owner of this location so that we can collectively come up with an immediate solution and they were very scared to do so and DID NOT!! They seemed very frightened and worried and I was honestly concerned. WHAT IS THE TONE OF YOUR LEADERSHIP AND/OR STORE OWNER SETTING IF YOUR OWN EMPLOYEES ARE SCARED TO CALL YOU IMMEDIATELY WITH AN ISSUE???!!! I was not rude, but I was assertive with my solution to resolve the issue that occurred today. Your staff of young women followed my guidance but only after I was assertive and persistent. Do better. Be a better leader for these young ladies. It's a job for them and yes people make mistakes, but the biggest mistake I witnessed was the lack of leadership. I hope to hear from you soon, I left my contact information with your staff. My issue was resolved but you need to contact me because I do plan on moving forward with the theft charges. read more

FUCK THIS PLACE FR I went in and dropped off a basket of things. I was told beforehand that they were only taking specific things so I knew my whole basket wasn't going to be taken and that was perfectly fine BUT they did take over 150 dollars worth of my fucking jeans and gave me 29 dollars and some fucking change. I waited FOUR HOURS for them to bullshit me like that and they were rude af when I went to pick it up. The guy gave me a shit ass attitude when I came in to double check an hour after calling and them telling me "yours is getting done next". I don't even live in the area so that I could've just gone home and came back. I'm not upset that they didn't take all my things but I am pretty fucking pissed off that they spent 4 hours to take my jeans and then fucking give me 5 cents for it all and the fact that the guy gave me a stank ass attitude when all I did was ask if mine was ready again, AN HOUR after being told they were working on it. They took a total of like 6-7 items max and still weren't done when I got there. I tried to look at the status through the link but they never even updated it for me to see anything through the link. fuck that place fr i've been to other plato's and have gotten less than I expected but it NEVER took 4 fucking hours and they weren't assholes to me when I went to pick up my stuff. read more

I drove 25 minutes to this location because I saw online that it was 90% off clearance. I got there and went to the Styles side (thought it was the same). I was told no that's not accurate and maybe it was the Plato side. I wasn't sure what she meant so I asked the manager who explained Plato's was next door and it may be them. Went to Plato's and was told clearance was 50% off. I showed the young lady the online ad and she said she needed to ask a lead. She went to the front and proceeded to help another person. So I asked as I was leaving "I guess not" she just shook her head and kept helping the other people. I'm just a tad bit upset that I drove so far on a misleading ad that was clearly on the website and no one knew what I was talking about. read more

I cannot say enough great things about this store, after taking my items to several very well known "consignment stores" all over houston, that didnt even bothered to look at my nice high end pieces, (because they weren't taking stuff for now they said) which means they really don't sell much.....I was recommended platos closet, I tell you, staff is friendly and super organized, they took almost all my items. I can highly recommend because I had an excellent experience. read more

If only I could give 0 stars. I came here to sell clothes, dropped off my stuff, and came back whenever it was ready. They were only able to take 6 out of 25+ items I had (which is okay), but they lost the rest of my clothes. They really tried to pretend like it didn't happen.... gave me $22 for the 6 items and told me to have a nice day. I was so confused because where are the rest of my clothes that you didn't take?? They claimed that one of the employees gave my basket to someone else who came to pick up.... First of all, HOW. Second of all, why would that person claim the basket as theirs when it's clearly not? I am not mad about losing the clothes because obviously I'm trying to give them away. I am upset at the situation because I could've taken the remaining clothes somewhere else to sell and they just brushed it off like it never happened. All I got was a "sorry" read more

My recent experience was a good one so I thought I'd leave a review seeing as they have a lot of negative ones. I called in and asked if they were taking buys and to what time. I walked in and was greeted and helped immediately. They had me sign in and let me know the buy would be a while as they had buys to sort before me and were in the process of shift change. My things were sorted before the time, they took 8 items and gave me $45. Which is more than I usually get. I noticed they had accidentally dropped a shoe in my belongings as I was looking for a bag they didn't take. I returned the shoe and the cashier on duty gave me a free points for returning the shoe. Overall, friendly, timely and satisfied. read more

Not sure how this place is in business! Arrived today with 2 daughters and each had 1 tub of clothes. We we were told it would be 3 hours for them to complete the sort/offer process. After 2 hours the 10 bags in front of ours had not been touched and when we inquired how much longer the reply was 2-3 hours. My recommendation to the owner is to hire employees that want to work and not socialize/vape with friends instead. That is all they did while we waited. Our business will be taken elsewhere. read more

One star for the two nove people there....minus 4 stars, for the other not very good customer service girls. ..and also because they did not buy nothing......and the only one piece they wanted to buy they were only gonna pay like 4 $....not worth the wait and the hassle....sell your used clothes on mercari...it's better. read more

This place is rocking it when it comes to sale and resale. I have never been to a Plato's closet but wow I wish I knew long ago. When you walk in to the left is the entrance to sell items. To the right buy items. They had classy shoes, tennis shoes, and sandals galore. The jewelry was nice too. The ladies that work on the buy side are so courteous, nice, and ready to help. Didn't see many male items but hey if you like women's clothes and you are a ma'am you I'll love it too! Most of these fabulous shoes were $10! I know so cheap! And in good condition.
