This was a horrible experience. Poorly trained customer service staff that was confrontational and completely inappropriate in attitude, disposition, and service. This is an avoid store for certain, when one considers all the available options in Houston. We had a photo printed on canvas that we found among about 60.00 of other items. When we picked it up, it had no frame, just the print, and nails still in it from where it had been previously framed apparently prior to donation. It had a price sticker of $5 and some change on it. We had also found another picture that did not have a price on it while shopping and asked about a price and this "manager" at the front said it was $3 and some change. When we got up front to check out, the first picture did not have the sticker on it, it had apparently come off while my spouse was carrying it. When we mentioned it to the guy at the front he immediately became confrontational and said he could not sell them (either picture) because we were trying to get something for less than what it was marked. He stated he "knew" that canvas had not been marked that price and the I was wrong. He called me a liar. I remained calm and asked him three times if I could speak as he was aggressive and quite frankly highly rude. I finally explained to him that I did not care if the picture was $30.00 I wanted it and was willing to pay it, but that I was telling him what it was clearly marked. He again said I was not being truthful despite my spouse having gone back to walk the aisles to see if he could find the sticker that apparently came off. He continued to insinuate that I was telling a lie and trying to "steal" the merchandise at a lower price. I asked for the manager due to his disrespectful attitude toward a much older person and he said he was the manager and he was all I was going to talk to. I said I doubted he was the manager and that I would contact EcoThrift directly. He then changed his story and said that he was just the manager on duty and that it would make not difference because he was in charge. He then told me to leave "his" store as he "felt threatened and triggered by me saying he was not the manager". During this entire encounter, he kept getting in my body space and was speaking to me like I was a child. He has no idea that we spend a great deal in thrift stores weekly on collectibles and I never bargain or ask for a deal or the like. I go about my business. We never would have interacted with him if it were not for the need to clarify a cost for these pictures. I was gracious, kind, and trying to solve the problem until he refused to give me the managers name and told me to leave "his" store. At this time I and my spouse did leave, and I did at this point use profanity as he pissed me off by accusing me of being a liar about a silly price tag. I have never not paid for an item as it was marked and I have never tried to get over on someone. This was outrageous. I know he did not know me, and that he does not know my ethics, morals, and principles, and I know that people do nefarious things, but......he needs significantly more customer service skills training and should not be in any position of leadership until he learns how to speak to people. He literally from the first words spoken was talking over me, talking down to me, and talking to me like I was his child. I am a 60 year old grown man. This was despicable. read more

I love ecothrift! I have saved so much money and found excellent things for my home and wardrobe. I found a $1700 new wool rug for $50 and lots of electronics and clothes. Very high end items mixed in with the regular clothes so it is a treasure hunt every time. read more

Crazy high prices!!! Even with the color tag sales, the price is still to high. The store is huge and clean, but... empty. I walked in, grabbed a basket, excited I would have a new place to thrift... and I walked back out about 10 minutes later after seeing the prices. Houston has a TON of thrift stores - and one major one is literally right down the street - there is no need to pay these prices when there are so many other great thrift stores with prices 1/3 of these. read more

Team members are always nice - store is always nice and clean - prices are still so high tho. :/ This is usually the last place I'll go to when needing an item if I can't find it anywhere else bc it's so much more than other resell stores in the area. Not bad, I'm used to the one back home. The prices here are more than Family thrift across the street, I noticed some exact same items. It's nice people and a nice layout. They offer home goods and many other things though, I don't think Family thrift did. Good service. Not a huge selection on this trip but I scored some expensive luggage for cheap which I needed for all the clothes I got at the other store. They're organized by size not color so maybe that's why I found less here. I think it's more evenly distributed between clothes and other goods versus Family thrift is primarily clothes focused. read more

I'm happy to update this review. I expressed my concerns to the manager of the EcoThrift at Willowbrook and he asked me if he could dispel my error of suspicion regarding pricing /over pricing, removing sale tagged items from racks . He showed me first hand the pricing and merchandising used by the company. More than anything he demonstrated how invested he is in customer satisfaction. Thomas is the store manager and he does a stellar job of it! There are deals to be found , just allow enough time to find them and gotten because tons of merch are placed out each day. If the price is marked too high don't buy it . BUT I still believe over pricing needs to be stopped at this location and get closer to consistency with pricing. Just because its name brand doesn't mean we'll pay retail pricing for it at a resale store. Thomas if you're reading this ...thank you again for taking the time to clear up my misconceptions about ECOThrift. Shoppers if you see something priced ridiculously off take it to the manager. 80% clothes with no dressing rooms. Instantly I reduced my cart to a quarter of what I would have potentially bought. Employees agreed that dressing rooms are needed. Prices range wildly, the daily specials help but I'd rather just have mid-range pricing everyday than mess with the colors and daily change. I ended up buying 2 shirts and a pair of shoes and my total was right at $10. read more

Inside it's very organized with a wide and large selection of clothes and trinkets. It's also very clean, and they have daily discounts on specific tagged items. They do accept and sell used beauty products, like body wash and makeup which is a little weird and questionably unhygienic. Their prices are also higher than most thrift stores, with women's jeans starting at around $12 a pair, and a Free People dress I saw on a rack for $70. They get the items for free, so they have no reason to mark it at that price. They also for some reason installed around 6 self checkout registers, except you can't use them. An employee has to check you out. It's awkward and annoying. Why not just install regular registers if that were the plan, like every other thrift store? read more

DANGEROUS-Please be very careful with what you purchase here. Someone who works here chose to tape up a trinket box concealing drug residue and a needle, instead of disposing of it. I reached out to Eco Thrift Willowbrook on their Facebook messenger, but after a week, received no response. This item should have never been sold, much less have the danger concealed, then sold. Clothing and the price was good but no one came to help me with checkout and so I thought it was okay to do it myself halfway done and this worker snatched the scan away from my hand and snatched the bag and said "it's not a self checkout" in such a rude tone. My wife and I went here for the first time today after they had their grand opening yesterday. While shopping around I was approached by a man who appeared to be on drugs asking for money because he ran out of gas. I said I could push him to the nearest gas station knowing that he wanted the money for something else. He said he just wanted money and I replied I only have two dollars in cash on me. He proceeded to try and get me to go to an ATM and leave my wife in the store. When I told him I'm not leaving my wife here and told him he could have the two dollars, he got very belligerent calling me "white tr*sh", "r*cist", "cr*cker". So I responded by asking why he was saying those things when I was offering all the cash I had at that moment. He proceeded to aggressively walk around the isle like he was about to come and swing on me. Then proceeded to leave the store and not talk to anyone else. Also their prices are higher than most other thrift stores unless you catch a day where the tag for the item you want is discounted. Would not recommend coming here alone, come only if you are in a large group and stay together. If he is willing to approach a 6' man at noon with his pregnant wife, he is willing to approach anyone. read more

i loved this thrift store but not anymore... i went and picked up a top from swimwear and it was itty bitty holes all over it. The tag came off and obviously i went to retrace my steps and found it laying on the floor so i picked it up and put it back on. I get to the register not thinking anything of it, and the lady walks away with my shirt Right away And then comes back and says to not pick up tags from the floor and to not change tags. she also added in that im being watched every where in the store. Well if i was watched throughout the store and she went to check the cameras with my shirt then she would have seen that it fell off. when i explained what happened she proceeded to respond with "gotcha". It was honestly so unprofessional to for her to have said that and basically try to scared me with the camera watching me. She could have simple asked me instead of assuming anything and next time if shes checking the cameras, i hope she checks them at least correctly. read more
