My wife and our book buddy loved this place, lots and lots of women's clothing and few men's....I think we know who does the most shopping. Very well organized for a resale shop....we'll be back.

Brand new allbirds I snagged for $40!

This is a place where you can walk away with some amazing finds! While you may see reviews talking about how a lot of the stock is for the "older generation," the gems you can find for 20-somethings can be outstanding and so cheap! While sometimes you may walk out empty handed, I've also seen Lululemon, under armor, nike, Ray Ban, and Gucci there. Last time I even walked away with a pair of BRAND NEW Allbirds for $40! The sticker said $50 but they have different items on sale for different days of the week. I also love supporting the Women's Home by shopping here and bring my donations here as well!

Their daily specials. I came in on a Wednesday and got first dibs on stock, but these sales are nothing to sneeze at!

This thrift store is adjacent to (and affiliated with) The Women's Home. Shopping for a great cause-why not visit? So I did. There is a good amount of parking outside and the space inside is organized and neatly laid out. They even have special sections-designer, rodeo (that's seasonal due to the Houston Rodeo, but they had a ton when I walked in!), vintage, and a smaller men's section. The selection of clothing is fantastic. I came in on a Wednesday which is their "restock day," and I'm glad I did. They stock the best designs and brands that they have donated. I found some really amazing name brands-Uniqlo, Michael Kors, and Calvin Klein-for just a few bucks. It was one of my more successful thrifting days; I walked out with a large, brown paper bag full of much-needed work attire-most of it high quality or brand name-for $28 and a few cents. Unbeatable. I was not a fan of the dressing rooms, they don't have latches and you have to carefully close the double doors to make sure you have enough privacy. And some of rooms overlooking the parking lot had windows with no curtains. They did have some tint and some outside advertisements and stickers blocking them out, but it was awkward clearly watching an old man walk up the ramp to the store mere feet away from me while I was dressing, even if he couldn't see me. FYI-I kept stocking the things I was buying up front but didn't notice until the end that they have baskets for you to use, and they are sort of inconspicuously stacked by the registers. So he sure to grab one while you shop, you'll likely need it! Overall, a good experience here. I will definitely be coming back!

This small place was a gem to find. It doesn't feel at all like a thrift shop. It feels like a men and women's boutique. The ladies are very helpful and super nice, there are specials for each day of the week, and the prices are so low it's hard to believe. Supporting this business also supports the community as it is a workplace for battered women and partially funds shelters located across Houston. The quality of the clothing is of a higher standard as well, seeing that they only seek items that feel as if they are still new. For $3 pants and half off Mondays, I'm definitely coming back.

Im in LOVE with this thrift store. The place is self is really organized for being a resale shop. I always find great brands, for a fraction of the price. The vintage section is great. You can find some amazing designer pieces, that won't break the bank. They have different sales going on every day of the week, such a plus ! The staff is so nice and friendly, and always helpful. They have their own lot, so parking is never an issue. I definitely recommend to take a visit here!

I ONLY go on Mondays; primarily because of their fifty percent off sale on the "Regular clothing" items (yet there are brand name finds through out this section).

This place has both, and despite its impressive array of goods from clothes to furniture, it's well organized and easy to navigate. I'm normally a neutral-color dresser but some of the clothes encourage me to step out of my comfort zone into some louder designs. Additionally, the walls are all lined with non-clothing items for sale -- books, movies, glassware, water bottles, and more. I don't think I've ever come a cross a thrift store with this much versatility. Out of the Closet is serious about HIV/AIDS advocacy and they prove it by putting their money where their mouth is. Like many other thrift stores in Montrose, you can expect marked up (but still fair) prices compared to the larger ones with piles upon piles of clothes to sift through. 96% of all proceeds at this store, however, go toward supporting the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Free condoms are offered near the cashier counter; free HIV testing and a not-for-profit pharmacy sits in the back. The roots of thrifting inherently lie in supporting the community. This is usually accomplished through the affordability of everyday items, but this shop takes it to the next level by showing their dedication to safe sex and access to healthcare. Give this place a visit the next time you cruise through Westheimer -- they deserve your time more than you know.

For a markup price, but still no where near what you'd pay at a retail store, Pavement filters a lot of the boring thrift items out. That way, you're more likely to find something you like without having to look too hard. Some of the finds here are quite impressive. I've bought a couple of graphic tees over the years, never paying more than $15 each despite them looking new. One of them has even landed in my rotation about once a week. Pavement's role as a trendy semi-thrift store works well for its location; I often find myself popping in for only 20-30 minutes, either right before or after grabbing a bite with friends, because that's all the time I need to browse the already-curated merchandise. In short, this is a great place to upgrade your wardrobe without breaking the bank or combing through hundreds of pieces at a time. The chances of walking out with something in hand is still hit or miss, similarly to any conventional thrift store, but I like my odds way better when I walk in here.

I submitted the form for a collection to the art department. The confirmation of submission email I received indicated it might take up to a week to get a response, so after a couple of weeks I sent a follow up email. I never got a response to my submission or to my follow-up attempt. I then forwarded the email to the main email address for The Guild, and again, nothing. I waited a while and then reached out again to follow up. No response. I also attempted to reach someone by phone. This process was really exasperating, and I eventually gave up and took my items somewhere else. At the very minimum, their confirmation email should've indicated it might take weeks or months to receive a response, if that was the issue. If they did not want the items, all it would've taken would have been a one-line email to let me know. I followed all the instructions on the website. I couldn't bring the items in because the website indicated you could only bring one or two items in on the designated art day, and that if it were more, that you had to submit that form to the art department. It is bizarre to me that I would receive no response to my submissions through these official channels. I also sent a follow up email indicating how unhappy I was with my experience, and I received no response to that either. My advice is to take your items somewhere else for consignment. It is not worth the trouble to do it at The Guild. It was a complete waste of time for me.
