Beautiful, beautiful store - inside and out. I told her I wanted to change my style and be more bold. She showed me a bright pink top that I loved so much, but didn't get. I thought, "Amazing -- but not yet for me." Jennifer caught me off guard when she said, "I think you're more into earth tones." MA'AM, HOW DID YOU KNOW? Haha. She brought more clothes for me to try on and I loved it all. I ended up buying one of their Cheeky dresses and a gold necklace. And, let me tell you, the dress. Honey, the dress. I can honestly sleep in it because it is THAT soft and gorgeous. If I see that pink top when I come back to visit again, perhaps it's meant to be.

It's so fun, checking out all the different styles from decades past. They also had a decent selection of men's and women's cowboy boots to get you fixed up for HLSR. I noticed there were lots of women size 6.5 so small foot princesses, this place is for you! At least it was yesterday while I was there. It's spacious clean, and there's plenty of dressing rooms. So she texted the owners and they said the skirt was $25. We found the tag that was originally on the skirt saying $15 and they refused to honor the price they had LABELED on the skirt and instead upped the price because they didn't believe the price tag was the one they'd placed on the skirt. Regular "thrift" stores are WAY nicer. Girl at the register with the blue hair was insanely rude. Honestly not worth the hype, prices, or items they sell. Go ANYWHERE else.

BEEARE OF THIS STORE THEY SELL FAKE PIECES AND ALSO WILL RIP YOU OFF. NAME IS PETTY CASH FOR A REASON. Terrible customer service, over priced junk and used shoes, owner is a greedy man that takes orders from his uncle. Don't bother taking any of your pieces there to sell. They will low ball you by double, tell you it's fake, tell you to take it next store to "leopard lounge" so they can also lowball you and if they buy it. They bring it back to there store. If you look closely, they have dust literally all over the shelves, shoes, and clothes. Because they don't do much business. It's a bunch of punk kids who they are above the customers. Don't waste your hard earn money here. Go to pretty much ANY other vintage/streetwear store and you won't feel like crap when you leave. Don't be fooled by these scum bag scam artist, literally the worst store in all of Houston and Houston greater area. read more

This place has both, and despite its impressive array of goods from clothes to furniture, it's well organized and easy to navigate. I'm normally a neutral-color dresser but some of the clothes encourage me to step out of my comfort zone into some louder designs. Additionally, the walls are all lined with non-clothing items for sale -- books, movies, glassware, water bottles, and more. I don't think I've ever come a cross a thrift store with this much versatility. Out of the Closet is serious about HIV/AIDS advocacy and they prove it by putting their money where their mouth is. Like many other thrift stores in Montrose, you can expect marked up (but still fair) prices compared to the larger ones with piles upon piles of clothes to sift through. 96% of all proceeds at this store, however, go toward supporting the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Free condoms are offered near the cashier counter; free HIV testing and a not-for-profit pharmacy sits in the back. The roots of thrifting inherently lie in supporting the community. This is usually accomplished through the affordability of everyday items, but this shop takes it to the next level by showing their dedication to safe sex and access to healthcare. Give this place a visit the next time you cruise through Westheimer -- they deserve your time more than you know.

I found a couple of cute tops including a nice blast from the past, Ghostbusters sweatshirt. My niece found a really nice Ed Hardy skirt that fits her perfectly. The employees were great and complimented my niece's Godsmack shirt she was wearing. They were all so kind and sincere to all their customers and they were excited to see the different gems their customers purchased. My niece said this was one of her fave stores from our thrift shopping.

I walked out w a 1980s work blouse and a 1950s summer dress for a total of $75, so I'd say worth it!
