First of all, they contacted me months after my appt in a condescending email that my insurance wasn't covered and I was responsible for the bill. Being proactive as I am i contacted them immediately and it turned out they didn't have my latest insurance. I provided all the information and stated could they please give me an update? I had to keep calling and texting and all they said was we dont have an update yet. Then almost 2 months later I contacted them yet AGAIN and They said "yeah its all set your insurance paid" well you THINK they would have told me?? No communication i had to do all the work. They gave me anxiety ironic because they are a firm to help relieve anxiety.

Honestly, I feel like 99% of therapist don't really have empathy and are going through the motions. Elizabeth is an active listener, and you can tell she genuinely is empathizing with you and analyzing what you're saying to best help you problem solve and work through your emotions. She's really good at responding via emails, and she really just is an excellent attentive therapist, so I wanted to sing her praises a little because therapist like her are incredibly rare.

However, he is a great individual therapist as well. Kyle is THE most genuine, caring and trustworthy person. He is committed fully to your situation and helping you overcome the pain or difficulty you are in. He is sensitive to your needs, honest and he truly has a passion for helping YOU! There are a lot of therapists that can take your money and ask you how you feel. If that's all you need, go anywhere. But, if you are truly looking for help in understanding yourself better, fixing problems, overcoming heartache, pain, addiction or relationship struggles, I would not recommend anyone BUT him. He is truly a blessing in my family, and we thank God that we have crossed paths with him.

Very bad experience using connections counseling services. The counseling I received was decent…read moredespite the counselor being late and ending the session early. Counseling was not the bad part of my experience, I am assuming they are good counselors just may be working for the wrong company. During the one appointment I had my contact information was not confirmed. This lead to the office having the completely wrong email address for me despite still having the correct telephone number. I had believed my insurance was going to cover the visit so I was not expecting a bill. Almost a year after the service I received a threatening text message that alluded to Connections Counseling taking me to collections. This was conveyed over text message and in a unprofessional manner. Especially since I hadn't known about the bill and the company had not attempted to contact me via phone. After paying the bill over the phone I asked to give a review. I was harassed with multiple phone calls after this before finally getting to this form. I would not recommend connections counseling to anyone wanting to focus on their mental health. They are more focused on getting money out of their clients and their service is incredibly expensive (over 150/hr) comparatively to counseling you can receive online or through other counseling services. Please for the sake of your, or your loved ones, mental health services steer clear of Connections Counseling.

That said, I live in Utah, and I now have my outpatient team with Center For Change and attend a weekly outpatient open process group here. The meal plan style here is Intuitive Eating, and while I believe that style is absolutely crucial when people are in advanced stages of recovery, but it didn't work well for me when I was deep in my Eating Disorder and I think it's why so many patients here are stuck at the same level of treatment for months and months. It was so much better for me to have a meal plan very loosely based on exchanges, but still helping to educate me on what a normalized meal looks like. I'll say that the cafeteria food must have vastly improved since the 2015 reviewers, because it's the best food I've ever had in treatment anywhere. The cooks are kind and will laugh with you. The food really is fantastic for cafeteria-style grub. Two of the three therapists I've had here are great, and I'm convinced the one I'm seeing now is the best therapist (Eating Disorder or otherwise) in Utah. Really, really solid. For some reason, people here don't seem to have the difficulties with insurance that I and others have experienced in other treatment centers. Perhaps Center For Change's rates are lower? I don't know, but if you have a finicky insurance provider, CFC might be the place for you.

It's Friday and they said they would be discharging me on Monday. I have no one to pick me up on Monday and it would have to be Sunday. That was initially a problem because no one is in on Sundays. That was a they problem not a me problem. They also took $1750 from me which was my copay and insist on keeping it because they are "eating" the rest. They wouldn't be absorbing any costs if they had done their job right.

There's a balance to pointing out the denial in people while still remaining understanding, and we've been fortunate enough to get both. Appointments are almost never canceled, start on time or within a few minutes, and you are given resources to work with at home. It's also nice that Kyle is willing to share some personal experiences and make you feel like you're talking with a friend versus being talked at. Something we really appreciate. Now, I know Kyle as of now is very booked, but seeing as he's the director I trust all his therapists to do well. My husband has interacted with Alex in a group setting many times, and finds him to be equally gifted and wouldn't mind seeing him as well. If you or a loved one need help managing some difficult times, I would reach out here. If you're not sure who to see, you can always ask the receptionist who they recommend based on what people specialize in (Kyle is also a certified sex addiction therapist, and Alex is becoming one if that's a need or Jennifer who works with families when an LGBTQ+ child comes out). Whatever your needs, this is a trustworthy office that can help.
