When someone told me the burgers here were great and I saw one on their menu with Cooper Sharp, it was on like donkey Kong ... or just a fat hungry guy ‍ The Cooperstown Burger was a bacon cheeseburger with caramelized onions using cooper Sharp. It was served on a brioche roll and I added the pickles from the side to the burger. I opted to add fries and cole slaw to the plate (I believe that was a $4 upcharge). This is a burger you should try...like yesterday. Dip was fine, probably out of a packet. Little did we know those burnt chips would be the only thing we would be eating for an hour with little to no refills. Seemed to be forgotten about with us being inside and I guess everyone else in the back. After an hour, our food came out. I got the brisket tacos, they were good. 8/10. My table got a chicken cheesesteak and ask for no mushrooms and ofc it came out with mushrooms... We had to get the wings, the wings were good! An hour wait good? No. 7/10. It took a weird amount of time for our last entree to come out and it was just like chicken tenders on a bun, no love. Oh and the pulled pork sandwich was more like slop. We are fully aware of that staffing will always be an issue, and things can happen. But, to put a post up an hour before opening on a holiday weekend, definitely put a hurt on us and now we have to scramble for other plans. There was something nostalgic about the experience. Fries were crispy and shoestring just about. Like a cross between McDonald's and the classic diner fry. The hostess happened to come outside and at least got my drink order and an appetizer. I started with the cauliflower bites which were unfortunately standard frozen heavily breaded. I wanted to order something else and again no waitress came over to finally someone did. I ordered the balsamic glaze chicken salad which took way too long to come out. The chicken had a weird texture to it, but at least the lettuce was fresh. Overall, the service was not very good considering the place was not busy and the food was definitely just average. I would not come back here next time I'm in the area.

The format was unusual in that it appeared to be a carry out place- but with a dining room attached. You order & pay- then go sit and wait for your meal to be served. The dining room is more comfortable than a typical pizza place with a family warmth. Our crew ordered chicken soup, burgers, pizza and a sub to go for out basketball player. We selected their "Old Forge" style pizza- iconic to the region. It didn't disappoint. The crust was light & crispy, the sauce in the sweet side and the blend of cheeses (including American cheese which is the hallmark, I'm told, of the style). It was delicious. I am a pizza 'freak'. I've enjoyed pizza from iconic restaurants in Naples, Rome, Chicago, New York, California, Detroit and now...Scranton! The burger people praised their 8oz. Burgers. The diner that enjoyed chicken soup (an accomplished cook) had high praise for the home made flavor and textures. When you add that we were treated like family members of this family owned establishment, our experience was exceptional. My only "complaints" are that: the check was far less than expected and (more of an opportunity than a complaint) I would have spent $$ for a nice red wine to complement my meal.
