I've been coming to DePoe for the past 8 years that I've lived in Stockbridge. I appreciate that it's conveniently located, they typically run close to on schedule, and I rarely struggle to get an appointment. I went in recently for an emergency appt. In atypical fashion, my wait was much too long. Two people who arrived 15-30 minutes after me were taken to the back before me (even though I arrived before my appointment time). I was told I was waiting for a room to be available so I'm not sure why my wait was so long. Once in the back, the appointment ran fairly smoothly. The doctor was able to explain diagnose my issue quickly and send in an eye drop prescription for me that cleared it up. It worked well enough that I was able to cancel my follow-up appt a week later. The office is always clean and nicely organized. The staff is usually pleasant. read more

am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I recently received at your establishment. I purchased a pair of frames valued at $600 and later returned to have new lenses installed. Upon receiving them back, I immediately noticed that the frames were uneven and that one of the arms was twisted. When I brought this to the attention of your staff, I was told that I had caused the damage. Not only was this claim inaccurate, but the manner in which it was communicated was dismissive and insulting. I felt that my intelligence and integrity were questioned, which is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I expect a prompt resolution to this matter, including inspection of the frames, acknowledgment of the issue, and appropriate corrective action. I chose your business because I trusted the quality of both your products and your service, and I hope that this situation can be resolved in a way that reflects those standards. read more

I've gone to Depoe for years now, spending a considerable amount, only to be told they would not provide me with my pupillary distance (PD). Their excuse? "Liability issues" and that PD "varies with each frame." This is simply not true. PD is the measurement, in millimeters, of the distance between the centers of your pupils--it has nothing to do with the frame. I don't trust anyone who tries to insult my intelligence. Thankfully, I found an ophthalmologist who will provide me with my PD measurement during an exam. I won't be returning to Depoe and wouldn't recommend them to anyone who values transparency and customer service. read more

I felt like they forgot about me because I never had it take so long to get them back, and My glasses were dirty , warped , and loose. My eye exam was 12/17/2024 and I still don't have my glasses (01/26/2025) - When I call I'm put on hold for 10+ minutes each time, only to have someone pick up (even the same person) and ask how they can help me. Horrible. read more

I now remember why years ago I decided not to return here. Appt was at 10:20 am it's now 11:02 and I haven't been seen by the doc yet. Why do all docs think it's ok to make people wait this long past their appt time to be seen. At 10:58 I opened the door to see if they forgot me and he's standing at my door like he's about to come in to only tell me he has too see someone else first so that means I will be here at least another 30 minutes before I'm seen. Nope, not happening. I'm going to speak with the manager now and get this taken off my insurance and find a different eye doc. One day, hopefully these offices will realize we pay their bills and we're tired of this treatment. read more

My recent purchase left me unsatisfied with my purchase. I was not properly explained the return policy when purchasing contacts. Even when there is only on prescription in one eye. It's sad when the staff is so kind and the manager isn't. You can tell that the manager is very over baring and not easy to get along with. You can tell she dominates the whole place. She"s very loud and others can not get a word in and do their job. She takes over the conversation when others are working with you. I see that as poor mirco managing the staff. it's saddens me when the doctor is good and the staff but it's always one in the facility. So due to this I will not support Stockbridge Eye Depo. So we have been going to this practice for YEARS!! This year we decided to purchase our frames online to save some money. Our insurance company offered an incentive that we could save $250 on our frames if we ordered them through there online site. Which we did. Fast forward to today. Apparently my pupils are not the average distance as most people so I cannot see out of my new glasses. The website that I purchased them though is willing to remake my glasses for FREE if I can get my pupil distance measured. You would think after being a loyal customer for 6+ years. (Myself, Husband and 2 kids) They could take 5 minutes to do the measurements. But no, apparently if you do not purchase their $400 frames, they will not do this simple measurement. So sad, that something so easy has now cost you 4 customers, not to mention the ones we will be telling not to go there. read more

Not only do they require that you pay extra for a mandatory screening test, they then refused to give me the measurements I needed to order glasses online. They flat out stated they're not going to give me measurement to go spend money somewhere else. I offered to pay the measurements, they still wouldn't give it. It doesn't matter that I already spent over $100 just for a yearly checkup (And thats with insurance) they still want more money! They've made it clear time and time again they are all about money and don't care anything about patients! Today was my last visit. read more

Everyone at this practice is always nice and professional. I've been a patient at this location for quite a few years. The lobby is always clean. Plentiful parking lot. Efficient processes. They are messing up before they can get started. I scheduled an appointment online. Someone from an office didn't know it was Stockbridge called to verify insurance info. I didn't have that information on me but she said my appointment is confirmed. Left a message to verify my insurance information and re confirm my appointment. No one called me back show up for my appointment there wasn't one because I'm at the wrong office thought my appointment was at McDonough office ok so I called Stockbridge they never booked my appointment, but the person I spoke with last week "confirmed " my appointment I'm sure this was all a miscommunication and misunderstanding but my time is valuable. My recent visit left me feeling saddened and disappointed in the staff you employ at the front desk. The doctor was great; however, the front desk staff showed no compassion for a human being. After having my eyes dilated, I was asked to checkout at the front desk. While standing there I asked the receptionist if they had any type of eye drop, I could use because my vision was blur and cloudy. Without checking or asking she replied, "no we don't any eye drop". I explained that my vision was blur and needed some type of release. Again, she stated " sorry we don't have any eye drop". I asked if she could ask the Doctor assistant. Without any hesitation she stated, "they are too busy, and they are running behind on seeing other patients". My first thought was that's not my problem...I'm a patient. I'm asking for someone to assist me. She continued gathering paperwork to process me out of there. This is closest one to me. Dr Laura is always very nice, professional and relatable. The deals they have on glasses are always feasible and stylish. I am always able to find a nice pair and the contact choices are endless as well. Depoe eye center will forever be my go-to eye doctor. read more

I came to find some glasses. Found some that I liked, and they were going to charge 788 dollars! I said that I wouldn't pay that amount of money, and they brought the price down after I complained to 476 dollars. Still an insane amount of money to pay for a pair of glasses. I don't know about their eye exams, but their glasses were extremely marked up, and they only brought it down because I complained?! It took them about 20/30 minutes to bring the price down a bit. The business looks nice from the outside, but they were shady as hell when buying some glasses. I guarantee you can find a better price somewhere else. I asked for the frame style I liked and ordered them with lenses online for 180 dollars. Just go and try some on and ask for the frame style if you end up finding some. Do not recommend. read more

This company has changed so much recently. They bill you things that they don't bill the insurance company. As an in network provider they are required to bill the insurance what they are charging you as a patient. When talking to the billing manager about the situation she was extremely condescending about the whole situation. When I tried to talk all she could say was "Mrs. Christopher" I don't think I've ever heard my name said so angrily. The fact that they tried to take advantage of a 19 year old let's me know who they are as a company. Second time I purchased my glasses here. First, very happy with the customer service. Second, NOT happy with pricing. When I questioned what I paid the first time, they miraculously lowered the price. Third, NOT happy with the quality of their product. I got the whole works on "coatings." Tinting, scratching, etc. The coating on the glasses I just replaced was coming off so badly I could barely see out of them. Even after caring for them exactly as recommended. So I got scratch coating on the new glasses three weeks ago and guess what?? It's already coming off and now I'm 300 miles away! Consumers beware! read more

I have had my eye exam done here for the last five years. Dr. Laura Depoe is wonderful but so are the other doctors as well. And I get the most thorough eye exam possible. They have all the latest eye scanning equipment to look deep and see everything inside your eyes. Most insurance accepted and you will never get a better eye exam. The Depoe Eye Center plays with patients intelligence. They have changed drastically in the last two years. Although you have insurance and they are in insurance network, they charge you up front and fail to give you a detail itemize of the service rendered. They just provide receipt for the charges. The billing department breakdown always appears to be different. It's sad That I will not be returning Dr. Robert Eichhammer has outstanding bed manners and is super caring. We have be patients for over 8 years. The management marches to their own beat. I was informed by my insurance company that Depoe Eye Center has the right to charge you up front and the payment can't be made to the patient. It will be sent to Depoe. Dr. Depoe was highly recommended by one of my colleagues. Although I live in downtown Atlanta, I made the commute to Stockbridge to be examined by Dr. Depoe in person. I was not disappointed. Dr. Depoe and her entire staff were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The office and exam rooms are modern and they use up-to-date technology and equipment. This Review is for their McDonough location, Yelp just won't let me pull up that address due to it's a new location. But I Definitely, feel obliged to leave a review after the amazing service I received both from a professional angle and a customer angle this past weekend. Friday night, I took advantage of their Black Friday event. Amanda was patience with my indecisive self and handled my insurance issue with ease. Saturday I went into my office to catch up on charts. We had a patient come in with a piece of metal in their eye. We needed to get them referred to the ER or Opthamologist. I spoke with Kloe at Depoe. She informed that they did not have anyone in office at that time that could see this patient. However, she placed me on hold and found a place not associated with their office that would see the patient. I went back into Depoe Eye Center on Saturday, maybe an hour after this phone call, because I change my mind on my frames (again) and they were slammed. They were still running their Black Friday promotions and had, had very little downtime. To me it showed their commitment to patient care. To go above and beyond the way they did, even when it did it seem to serve them at the time. I will definitely be a return customer and will have my future eye examines through Depoe. read more

This black woman there I won't name her, she had the nerve to lie and stare it's against the law for them to give out PD measurements. Consumer beware. Depoe is unclear on pricing and your options re: Contact lenses. ---------------------------------------- Came for an annual eye exam, a pair of glasses and contact lenses. I had a pleasant experience overall, however, lack of dialogue regarding Contact Lens Fit prices/options left a sour taste in my mouth. The insurance I am fortunate enough to have covers a Standard Contact Lens Fit fully-- a Premium one up to $55 and 10% off thereafter. Well, my "Premium" fit was $80. No one person explained any options I had regarding the Contact Fit. In fact, I was unaware I was getting a "Premium" Fit at all. Had my options been explained, I would not have chosen one for $80. This left a sour taste in my mouth because, without any dialogue, I the consumer am unaware of the options I have and therefore feel obligated to pay whatever the total comes out to at checkout. Fortunately, I have insurance and only came out of pocket $17 but what of those that don't? This is my point. Be clear and explain options to your consumers. During my 3 week stay in the Hampton GA area, I experienced eye inflammation, due to sleeping in my contacts. After trying to solve the problem for a day, I decided to call this establishment. When I explained to the receptionist that I may have a bad eye infection, she immediately found time to fit me into the next day. When I arrived, the receptionist promptly gave me forms and was very courteous and professional. The staff that initially started my file were also extremely professional and friendly. The doctor that saw me was the same, he explained everything in detail and even discussed how to find more affordable drugs in general. Very friendly staff. I got Coach glasses in light brown. Very cute kinda pricey though. Spent 500dollars on them. The dr really helped fix my vision after having the wrong prescription for years.
