When requested of the office only 2 days later (7/27/23), the office advised a fee for each child would have been assessed for that simple paper. The office confirmed that the service I was asking for was completed on the date of the exam, charged to me, and billed to the insurance and DID cover the needed paperwork; however, this paperwork was not provided to me (the parent). This was a service they would not be charging otherwise had they provided it on the date of the exam; they advised the burden was on me to state the form was needed at that time. No additional services like further physical exam examination was needed, just a simple checkbox form stating that my children wear glasses and were screened by a physician with the physician's signature. They were able to receive co-payments from me for the exam and material fee, billed both the primary and secondary vision insurances for my children, and I also bought glasses for one of my children there. They were more than compensated for me to receive a form that they would have inevitably given to me for no charge only 2 days earlier. That is ridiculous and poor customer services. Their policy is an excuse to get money. That is terrible business practice and creates unnecessary hardship for people.

When I tried to order my glasses online, I needed the PD, which should have been on the prescription. While I was there, I decided not to get glasses because they didn't have the style I was looking for. When I called for the PD size, I was told that I had to pay an additional fee just to get the the doctor to size my pupils because they didn't want patients going outside of their office to buy contacts or glasses. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? The woman on the phone also said if you have any issues with your glasses, you'll bring them in here to get them sized properly and we can't size your glasses for free. I GET IT, your a business and you need to make money but to overcharge your patients after you inconvenience them three times, they pay the copay, you don't put the needed information on the prescription so that they have to come back to your office and then you tell your patients they have to pay you more money to do your job AGAIN? It has truly allowed my father to regain some of the normalcy that he had prior to developing Alzheimers. I am also eternally great full for the experienced care he has recieved. My father was a resident of several other assisted living facilities in the area which supposedly specialized in Alzheimers care. However, that basically meant most of the residents took prescriptions to calm them down. Once my father came to Mt. Carmel, his medication was drastically reduced and he was able to participate in group activities and socialize with other residents and staff. I always recommend Mt. Carmel to anyone with an aging loved one suffering from Alzheimers. They are simply the best!

Carmel have for their extended family.
