As any smart homeowner should, I did my research before taking on a serious renovation project and got several quotes from several other companies that were also highly rated on Google and Yelp. However Dependable Shutter & Glass made the choice of proceeding with them very easy. I cannot express how grateful I am for choosing this company to replace all of the windows, the 3 panel sliding patio door, and the front door at my condo. My initial impression from their salesman Robert gave me a great vibe about the company; he was very knowledgeable, easy to reach and talk to, answered all of my questions, and was extremely attentive to the needs of my project from start to finish. The office staff in Paula and Surita were exceptionally helpful; they kept my wife and I stress free as they took on the burden of navigating the challenges and jumping through the hoops that the city and my exasperating HOA presented. They kept us informed all along the way so we knew exactly what was going on which gave us peace of mind. Art and his install team did such a phenomenal job and we can't thank them enough. If you are looking for window treatment-blinds, etc.--or repair, check out Artec. I needed a new track over a large sliding glass door and the replacement of several vertical slats throughout house. Andres was my contact at Artec and came out to measure. He was low key and thorough and made several suggestions that were helpful. One week later all was installed by another pleasant young man and the vertical blind now works beautifully. I particularly thought that Andres was an excellent representative and I will give them my business the next time I need such assistance. A pleasant experience if you must go through it. read more

Truly nice and good people with integrity. We got our minimum of 3 bids on shutters and also asked about impact windows. Everyone gladly gave us prices for everything, except for DSG. We especially asked about having shutters all around (10 openings, including a large 8 foot tall slider) and maybe an impact window for the small bow window over the front door. We're not young any more and wrestling with ladders is difficult. He had already figured out that we were watching our budget (probably from the look on our faces when he quoted impact windows). He sat back and told us that, honestly, the window was so expensive and it was so much cheaper to get the accordion shutters and give a neighborhood kid 5 bucks to go up a ladder to open and close it. Yes, an actually honest answer that was not in favor of the company. That won us over. They weren't the cheapest - right in the middle, for the strongest shutters out there. But we TRUST THEM. The installer was a really nice guy, watched out for our pets, and worked his butt off. He was supposed to have a helper who never showed up. Instead of spending the morning griping on the phone, he got to work (early, I might add) and finished the entire job himself in one day! Awesome worker, awesome company! read more

Very unhappy with dependable shutters. They are not professional at all. They have different people telling you different things. Such as times & dates of installation etc. Don't keep there word about gift cards if you referred them. Also we waited all day at home for 2 days for inspection that was never done. Never showed up to inspect any of the shutters. They also messed up more stuff. And no return phone calls. They should be called Undependable Shutters instead! read more

I recently purchased a condo in Hallandale Beach facing the intercoastal that has floor to ceiling glass windows in every room and already had hurricane shutters installed. Assuming that all the shutters required was normal maintenance (lubrication and minor part repair) I had DS&G come over a few weeks ago. To my dismay I was shown by Kenny that a large number of the wheels in the accordion shutter tracks were broken and need to be replaced. The shutters were frozen in the tracks and could not move because the wheels were broken or missing and metal was rubbing against metal. Kenny informed me that upon examination that it was obvious that the previous owners had never done any maintenance or proper lubrication on the shutters and I was paying the price now. Kenny and his assistant Greg came back over today and did the repair work. I am on the 8th floor so Kenny had to work from a harness outside of my bedroom windows that was attached to a rope that was anchored on the roof. While swinging on this harness he had to open the tracks and replace the wheels which was not an easy task. Just picture a real life Spiderman swinging in front of your eyes. They also had to repair the long sections of shutters on my wrap around corner balcony, while not hanging from a rope this was still extremely hard work as those shutters were extremely heavy. Kenny and Greg really worked their butts off to finish the job in one day as one wall in each of the bedrooms, the living room and the dining area has floor to ceiling windows which are protected by shutters. It was a tough job and I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I am with the result. They were both extremely neat in their work and totally polite. Aside from the noise that took place during the repair you would not have known that they were even here. By the way, no question that I asked was too silly and Kenny took the time to explain everything he was doing and why it was needed. A word to the wise, you should do regular maintenance on your hurricane shutters from a company like DS&G on an annual basis, if you live right on top of the water where you are really exposed to the elements like I do twice a year visits would be a wise move. Don't ignore this type of annual service visit or it will become extremely costly for you later on! Also schedule your repair and maintenance work early in the year and do NOT wait until right before hurricane season starts on June 1st when everyone wakes up as all of the shutter companies are fully booked with jobs! read more

We began this journey of windows or shutters late in 2019. From the first time we met Mauricio we felt comfortable and ready to move forward. The whole experience was terrific. We chose windows and had to postpone 2X once due to a death in the family and then due to Covide-19. Each time the office manager Surita was understanding and worked with us and our HOA requirements. We were looking forward to receiving a quote for impact windows and a few accordian shutters from Dependable Shutter and Glass. After all, their reviews led us to infer they would be a stand out company. Their sales consultant, Robert Auguste showed up right on time. He was very informative, explained the product options and even gave his opinion on several very challenging openings in our home. After speaking with him and having him complete all his measurements 2 hours had passed. He was clearly going above and beyond, and that was great! We mentioned prior to the appointment that the number of windows and doors would be a large quantity, and that it was not your typical home. They assured us that they would be more than happy to come out for the consultation. Unfortuantely, within just a few hours of leaving our home Robert called to let us know he would not be sending over an estimate. According to our conversation the company owner was not interested doing a large job that would require the detail our job would need. What?! This was not expected at all. He then told us that if we had questions we could still reach out to him, or if we didn't proceed with the project this year we could always reach out again next year. My mind has truly been blown! Why would we be spending 2 hours with him, and even told him that we had other quotes already if we didn't plan on the job being done?! We will never reach out again, the owner had already told him he would not be interested in our job. While yes, we are looking to have impact windows and accordian shutters installed I will not beg someone to take a job they do not have the man power to dedicate to the job or perhaps lack desire to do the job stating it is to "detailed". 1/15/2019 I had them repair our front door shutter as the motor was failing. The motor was $ 750 which I thought was high but ok'd them to do the job. The labor was $150 per hour. Well they arrived at exactly 2:23 pm and the tech said he arrived at 2:10 till I showed him on the cameras and he then agreed. Getting past that they install the new motor which was defective and had to have a new one brought to the job. They had the first one installed in 1 hour and 20 minutes. BUT it gets better - we I did say they had to have another rmotor sent to the job, well they arrived an hour later. They charged me 3 hours even though I argued that it wasn't fair. They then decided to give me a 20% discount off the labor which was still unfair. They pinched me for an extra $135.00 in labor. So here we go - I wrote my concerns on the invoice to NINA and ask that she call me as I wasn't happy. The tech was a nice guy but still not fair. I hope that the motor doesn't give me any problems and if it doe they don't try and PINCH me again. I will post later if they contact me and if they don't - WELL you will see. Larry read more

Obtaining impact glass at my small home was a huge dream project so I met with 20 different company. The prices were all over, but 1/2 the time a salesman who didn't install was giving a pitch. I was resigned to pick the lesser of two evils, but then when researching CGI windows on a random forum I found a glowing review of Dependable. Dependable was the last company I called, their price was in the middle of the ranges I obtained, but the communication from them was regular and consistent. After I signed the contract I received a hand written thank you note for the opportunity alone with the office and cell phone numbers of people if I had questions. I met with the owner for the final measurements and even during the COVID 19 environment they would email me regular updates and return calls. The workers on site were considerate of noise as I was working from home, installed dust barriers, and regularly asked me if I had questions. Dust will get into the house, but they did their best to limit. My only critique was the last day they were hear they did not leave until they were done which ended to be at 9pm. They worked quickly, but took their time to get the job done right. I only wished they warned me to expect the late evening. My only other pet peeve with the late hour is that I had to search for screws on the driveway after they left. Still 5 stars. read more

It began from their first impression with me in a local Homes magazine ad. It wasn't the typical picture of a window or shutters with some dollar price or claim of being "the best". Product is only half the story, service is the bigger more impressionable part of reviewing any provider. I had no fewer than 50 email exchanges with the Dependable team over the course of about two months from signing to job completion. They kept me advised on the status of the permits, the arrival and delays on materials and generally checked in with me about every other day during the install to give me an opportunity to share feedback along the way. The install team arrived on time EVERY SINGLE DAY and treated my home quite frankly, better than I do. They laid plastic throughout any work/traffic areas and at all times throughout the day were picking up their mess as they went. No chunks out of the walls or surrounds, no construction debris laying around in the driveway or back-yard and everything done better than code. Every night they swept up and packed up and it looked as though nobody had been working there at all. Jairo, the jobsite manager, orchestrated the teams and they meticulously removed and replaced all the doors and windows not once showing any hesitancy. It was pretty impressive to see. Over the course of a week and a half this team came and went and installed everything perfectly. Inspection happened with no issue and I have to admit, while it was a tough pill to swallow to spend significant dollars to have impact glass installed, the Dependable team somehow made it just a little less painful to stroke a check knowing I had received such a tremendous experience in working with them.
