Red Oak helped complete the required condo application paper work, followed through to obtained their approve, obtained the necessary city permit(s), removed the old shutters, installed the new shutters, and we are waiting for the final city inspection to close the permit. So even though I have lived in my home for 3 years, for some reason the HOA decided that everyone had to open their hurricane shutters on their windows above the doors. Never mind that mine are broken and have been that way since I bought the home and that I have told the HOA this numerous times. I called FIFTEEN shutter places in Broward and Palm Beach county and NO ONE repairs the shutters like I have. Figures. Then someone referred me to Red Oaks Shutter. THANK GOD! They were able to come out AND fix the stupid shutters within 2 days of me calling them. They saved me a $150/day fine! They are more than fairly priced and they worked quickly. I took a stack of their brochures and handed them to everyone in the development who had shutters down just in case they had the same issues I did. For the past month we have been working on sorting out a project plan for shutters and a storm window for 3 condos and had relied on red oak for this project. This company had already come out and provided some initial drawings and several communications. I recently traveled nearly 1100 miles to go ahead and sign contracts and start the project however apparently our asking for an installation warranty for this work was a problem because suddenly there was no contact or follow up whatsoever. I have called and sent several emails and have still had no response . We will not recommend this company nor will we use this company. Our time is valuable but apparently this company doesn't respect that. This has been very disappointing and has cost us dearly to be prepared for hurricane season. Thanks a lot red oak. Office staff Stephanie and Diane and Tisha (?) were updating us re install date. Had to re-install lower tracks and raise the upper tracks on my steel panel hurricane shutter system( yuk) due to new travertine being layed on my rear deck. They verified the appointment and Dyan in the office asked for photos to ensure they knew exactly what had to be done with upper and lower tracks. Red Oaks Shutters just completed installation of a massive hurricane window at my 17th floor condo. Not only was the installation complex, but also the job came with a 10-year old still-open building permit on a set of shutters that the previous owner had never gotten inspected after installation. I bought the condo but was hit with that problem one week before closing (from out of state), so I had to take the challenge knowing it would be a pain to resolve. Red Oaks took on the problem of closing the old permit and opening a new one to determine the validity/codeworthiness of the old shutters. It was necessary to know if the old shutters passed because my building requires some type of hurricane protection. I would decide whether to buy one hurricane window for the bedroom as extra protection (if the shutters were OK) or two if the shutters failed. Red Oaks' account rep, Dave M.cheerfully handled the building permit problem with the city -- which took MANY visits over a period of months. Net/net: after the city lost the paperwork and required us to get new reports, dragged their feet, didn't respond and so on, the old shutters finally passed inspection. Dave M. took it all in stride. That meant I only had to buy one 160" x 72 inch wall of hurricane impact turtle glass windows. Red Oaks had to satisfy the many requirements of the condo building, install a swing stage and work outside the 17th floor, knock out (by breaking) the old windows, install new wood supports due to the code requirements, install the new windows, clean up all the mess and ensure it all passed code. They also had to work within an 8:30 - 4:30 time constraint, deal with intermittent rain and the threat of a tropical storm, and get the job done in a two-day window when I could be at home. They did all of it professionally, to code, and with a sense of humor!!! They also went the extra mile and lubricated the old shutters and brought new rods for them (although they had nothing to do with the windows purchase!) I highly recommend this company! read more

I got an issue with one of my roll-up shutter. One of the spring/arm got broken. Could no longer roll up or down the shutter. I called Read Oaks and spoke with Stephanie. After describing her the issue, she knew exactly what had to be done to fixed the problem. The crew that came out ( Freddy & Jose) had the correct parts and did a great job.
