I rarely write negative reviews, but our experience with Florida Impact Windows & Doors has been so…read moredisappointing that I feel obligated to share it so other consumers can make an informed decision. My husband and I paid approximately $5,350 for what we believed would be a beautiful, solid metal hurricane-impact door with a narrow vertical glass opening. To be completely transparent, the salesperson originally sent us a link to a manufacturer's catalog back in April. However, our plans and installation timeframe changed, and we never reviewed the catalog before the link expired. Months later, when we contacted the company again to move forward with the purchase, the salesperson showed us a photograph directly from his phone depicting the solid-style door we wanted. Based on that photograph and our conversations, we believed we were purchasing that design. At no point during these renewed discussions did he explain that the actual door would be predominantly glass, with decorative panels subsequently glued onto it to create the appearance of a solid door. That is an extremely important distinction, and one that should have been clearly disclosed before we committed to a $5,350 purchase. Instead, a predominantly glass door was installed. Only afterward were panels attached using adhesive to create the appearance of the door we had originally requested. I've included photographs of the final installation so prospective customers can see exactly what we received. What makes this particularly frustrating is that the salesperson's own text messages and the photograph he shared document what was represented to us. We have retained those communications. Had we been told upfront that this was how the door would be constructed, we would never have agreed to purchase it. Unfortunately, the situation became even more disturbing when we questioned the outcome. Rather than simply addressing our concerns professionally, the salesperson sent a text suggesting he could contact the Wilton Manors Building Department regarding permits for unrelated improvements to our home. He also wrote, "It takes 2 to tango." We found that communication intimidating, retaliatory in tone, and completely inappropriate. Imagine spending more than $5,000 with a company, questioning why the finished product was different from what you believed you were purchasing, and then receiving a message suggesting that your other home improvements could be scrutinized. We brought these concerns to management, explained the circumstances, and requested reasonable compensation. The company ultimately declined to offer any financial accommodation. While that is their decision, it does not excuse the lack of transparency during the sales process or the way our concerns were handled afterward. My husband and I intend to pursue formal complaints with the appropriate Florida consumer protection and regulatory agencies regarding these circumstances, particularly the salesperson's written communication. My advice to anyone considering Florida Impact Windows & Doors: Before signing anything, insist on receiving the exact manufacturer's model number, current product specifications, and written confirmation of how the finished door will actually be constructed. Do not rely solely on a salesperson's photographs or verbal explanations. We trusted this company to provide what had been represented to us. Instead, we received a door we would never have knowingly purchased, an unexpected modification involving adhesive-mounted panels, and a customer service experience that left us extremely disappointed. This was never simply about money. It was about honesty, transparency, accountability, and treating customers with respect. Unfortunately, our experience with Florida Impact Windows & Doors fell far short of those expectations.

My estimate was right in the middle and they were very informative as the progress with my permit was proceeding as in my area. The county takes their time. I never had any issues reaching anybody in the office for any reason whatsoever and the crew that actually did the work were OUTSTANDING!! I couldn't have asked for a better work for they were finished in an excellent amount of time and they came back several times to make sure the job site looked like they were actually never here except for my windows for brand new. They worked very well with my dogs and around our schedule and I've had many people stop by and look at the job they have done. As with any company, do your own research make sure their personal fit but definitely don't overlook Locktight as I would hire them again and again.

I was promised that they would stay on top and would have a supervisor on site to keep us informed. They did not. The sales-hole promised he would take care of the charges for additional wood. He lied. He said he would take care of the angle roof I ordered for the garage roof. They did not. Then they ran to The, " It's not on the contract dodge." When I informed the construction supervior he was an asshole, he whined like a girl about his feelings and hung up like the cowards they are. The roof job might be adequate but they are all liars and cheats from the boss on down. I should have gone for a legitimate roofer. They are so stupid Luis, one if the untrustworthy ones, just texted me to sell me windows today. Good luck with that.

What was supposed to be a straightforward project turned into a chaotic and financially draining ordeal, primarily due to this contractor's complete lack of professionalism, skill, and ethics. From the very beginning, it became clear that she was not competent in managing even the most basic aspects of construction. She repeatedly demonstrated a poor understanding of local building codes and construction practices--something no licensed general contractor should be unfamiliar with. I frequently found myself double-checking decisions, only to discover that what was being done either didn't meet code or was completed with poor detail. Scheduling was another major issue. She routinely forgot to schedule required inspections, which led to delays and created serious problems with permits and approvals. On multiple occasions, she missed scheduled appointments without notice or explanation. These weren't one-off slip-ups--this was a pattern of irresponsibility. Financially, things went from bad to worse. She took money for work that was either never started or only half-finished, and then attempted to rewrite parts of the contract to remove work that had already been paid for. These weren't honest mistakes--they were calculated attempts to cut corners and extract more money. It felt like being scammed by someone who had no regard for their legal or ethical responsibilities. She placed a lien on my property for an amount that was grossly inflated and far beyond what was actually owed. This false claim forced me to retain legal counsel in order to get the lien removed and the amount corrected--yet another unnecessary cost and source of stress created by her mishandling of the project. What made matters even worse was the complete disregard for my property. During demolition, reusable fixtures and working appliances were recklessly damaged or destroyed--despite clear instructions to preserve them. It was as if there was no care taken to differentiate between trash and salvageable items. Speaking of trash, rather than properly disposing of demolition debris, she left piles of garbage and discarded materials right on my driveway, creating an eyesore and a hazard that I ended up having to deal with myself. The problems extended to her team as well. Multiple subcontractors expressed frustration and concern--some told me directly that they hadn't been paid or were avoiding further work with her due to ongoing issues. When a general contractor can't earn the trust of their own subs, you know something is deeply wrong. Summary of Issues: * Incompetent with building codes and inspections * Repeatedly missed or forgot key appointments * Dishonest with payments and contract changes * Placed a fraudulent lien on my property, requiring legal action to resolve * Destroyed reusable fixtures and damaged appliances * Left demolition debris on-site, cluttering my driveway * Subcontractors openly stated they couldn't trust or rely on her This was not just a case of a project gone sideways--this was a deeply unprofessional and unethical contractor who had no business taking on work of this nature. If you're considering hiring Fabienne Debaix, I urge you to think twice. Do your due diligence, ask for multiple references, and seriously consider another contractor. Save yourself the time, money, and stress.
