Window installation
David C.

They worked extremely quick and during the rain. The guys working on the installation were nice and attentive. Dino was the guy in charge of the process from beginning to end. He came over to check that all things were going well, and that process was as smooth as possible. Vico windows is a small company, but definitely hold their own against the big window distributors. I was very happy with product, price, installation, follow up and even the with their involvement in the inspection with the city. Thank you Vico windows and Dino for your great customer service.

I've never written a review on a business with which I've had as many mixed feelings as with Vico Windows. I decided to replace my old window glass with new hurricane glass. The job estimate was $20,000 plus permit and some other varying fees, so I paid them $20,000 up front. Not a lot of money to some but a considerable amount this hombre pobre. Throughout my dealings the office people were professional, polite and helpful. However, who you really end up dealing with are the installers. It's the actual installers or workers that you end up being at the mercy of. Though they were also pleasant and polite, when crews changed, they became confused, unsure of what the previous crew had done or hadn't done, and when things went wrong, something common and to be expected in any construction work, failed keep me informed or keep their main office advised of the problems. In one classic, they installed a set of sliding windows backwards so that when sliding them they were reversed from what they should have been with the first window in the stack sliding open from outside rather than from the inside. When I noted the mistake and mentioned it to the person who seemed to be the installation crew leader of the day he said "Oh, I was going to mention that and ask you if you cared because they work fine?" LOL! Well of course I cared. It looked stupid, had a half-assed appearance and actually wouldn't work properly and were in no way "just fine." It was to be a two day job, and when, after order, the necessary windows etc. came in, installation work commenced July 20th. Their installation crew showed up then and again on July 21st, but then suddenly, without any word to me, walked off the job leaving a piece of plywood where a window should have been in place. I had no idea why, thought they might show up the next day, maybe the day after that, but they didn't. I went to the main offices to find out why, but didn't get any answer. They were clueless. Later again I went to the main offices, but again didn't find out what the problem was, so on my third visit with the job still incomplete, I ended up having to get nasty about. Finally I was informed that one of the windows was defective, had a bubble in it, and had to be reordered. I was told it would be in on Friday. Then, the following week I finally get a phone call, scheduled a day and time to complete the job. However, on the morning the job was to be completed they phoned and cancelled, advising that they in fact didn't have the replacement glass for the window. So by this time it was very clear that there was zero communication between their office staff and those who actually do the work or the stocking of such items. Then, yet another week later and now about an entire month later, what was have been a two day job finally got scheduled and completed. Though I can't complain of their completed workmanship, I sure as heck can complain about their treatment of me, their delays, and though maybe to some extent excusable, a complete failure to communicate with me on it. Matter of fact it got so bad I had even thought that they may have abandoned the job entirely and had starting seeking others to complete it as I had begun preparing myself for legal action against them. Also, simple little things, like just maybe cleaning the windows before putting the screens in place or removing their greasy handprints from the window panes. Though I know the stickers had to remain in place pending inspection, I'd think they might at least remove their greasy hand prints, the smear of mayonnaise from one of their lunch sandwiches or do something that would at least signal a simple sign of professional neatness. But no, they didn't do any of that. Like I really? When you have new windows replaced, fork out over $20,000 for new windows, is it asking too much not to leave windows without handprints, finger prints, suction cup prints, putty drippings or mayonnaise all over them. Hence, even though I'm ultimately pleased with their completed workmanship, I'm highly disappointed with their total and utter failure to communicate with me, cooperate with me, keep me informed and lack of professional neatness.

It was not easy but most of the time people here in Florida are correct. All impact is just the single exception. They told us "don't worry it's written 24 weeks in the contract but it should be done before the hurricane season" and this was march the 1st. Our windows have been installed November the 7th and they just destroyed the walls and the windows have deficiencies. They said it was because of the manufacturing delays but did nothing the get the permit on time which made the delays even longer. We've had hurricane Ian in the meantime. They destroyed the fresh painted walls and didn't want to cure "because it's not written in the contract". So you as a customer will sign a contract that only engages YOU don't expect them to feel responsible for anything. If I had not retained the final payment until they cured they would have done nothing (he screens just fell on us, one glass has a distorsion and the walls were damaged) and they kept on harassing and threatening me to get paid. We looked into company backgrounds and principals, read countless reviews, and asked neighbors and friends for recommendations. We ultimately settled on 4 candidates to interview; and the differences in presentations was interesting and informative. Ranging from those who wanted to oversell more than was needed to those who rushed through the basics, we felt Ryan with Republic was right on. He was respectful and professional, took his time and answered all of our questions. We were provided with a comprehensive quote that was very fair, and they were open to some tweaking to fit our particular needs. That being said, follow through is critical. This is where we feel Republic Windows & Doors really shines. From Maria and Debbi in the office to Omar's supervisory skills, to the Yasel installation team the communication was seamless. Everyone on the project was vested in our complete satisfaction. I also feel compelled to mention that beyond the expertise in their core business of impact resistant products, Company President, Daniel Elad, displays values that I admire and respect. From supporting US based Charitable Organizations with donations from each project; to planting trees to help sustain the environment; to participating in Feeding America, Republic prides itself on giving back to the communities that support them. It is my pleasure to recommend Republic Windows and Doors. They will not disappoint.

Per the contract terms, I was required to make the payments due at each stage -- including the delivery day payment, which brought my total paid to 90% of the $24,378.89 -- or face financial and legal consequences. FDACS public records: On March 2, 2026 I filed a consumer complaint with FDACS, State Consumer Mediator. Last week, on April 28, 2026, Prestige stated to the FDACS Mediator that I had: "inspected, accepted, paid for (in full), and permitted full installation of the product. No timely rejection occurred under the contract terms." BBB public record: However, 7 months earlier under the BBB complaint filed June 30, 2025, Prestige stated in a response on August 11, 2025: "When the client tried to 'reject the delivery', we called the manufacturer and they told us the windows had to be installed for them to look at them." I will now be taking the next legal step, supported by the detailed documentation I have compiled from Prestige's statements, responses and interactions over the past 18 months. My suggestion: Read the full complaints from the BBB (7/30/2025) and the FDACS (3/02/2026) which you can request to view at no cost. Based on the information in those documents and my experience, you can decide whether this is the right company for your project. In the meantime, see the photo of the windows that I get to look at every day, which shows four distinct multi colors (bright silver, light gray, medium gray and dark gray) visible from 30 feet away.
