There was a smell emanating from our guest bath. Googling the cause of the smell put me in panic…read moremode. I called Draintech to inquire about a possible sewer leak. Kaelin answered the phone. (on a Sunday) I was expecting to get the answering machine. I described the problem and he calmly walked me through the possible causes. He gave me step-by-step instructions on what might be causing the smell. I wasn't confident that I could fix it myself, so I booked the scheduled visit that following Wednesday anyway. But after hanging up, I tried his instructions. And sure enough it fixed the problem. Long story short, if you have a spare bath that is unused. Not running the flush or shower can cause a ?vacuum? where the sewer smell could escape... (something like that, but don't quote me). I haven't written a review here in years, but wanted to let everyone know that Kaelin (Draintech) is a good and honest business. He could have kept our appointment and I would have happily paid for his visit. But instead gave me the instructions to fix it myself. That's amazing. He didn't get a payment from me this time around, but he earned a faithful customer for any future plumbing issues I might encounter.

Read to the end The…read moresewer line was backed up and initially I had a reputable company come out to snake it and clear the pipe. The tech did what he could and ran into an obstruction. He recommended hydro jetting it for an additional $485 and then sending a camera through (another $250) to take photos to make sure the line was clear. I decided to get a second opinion and luckily found Dustin at Honest Sewer and Drain. He came out to the house the same day, was able to take a photo (for NO Charge) without hydro jetting and locate the problem as a root ball growing into the pipe. He snaked and cut out the roots and the line is flowing again. All for $270 (after a 10 percent discount)! No hydro jetting, no charge for the photos. The next day the bathtub line was clogged and he came out and got it flowing again. No additional charge! Hard to believe but it's true. Dustin is in it for the long haul - he understands that a business is built on delivering competent, professional and honest service. So refreshing to work with Dustin and his team - highly recommend!

I had a clogged toilet that would not unclog!! They came by and used the snake for about $80. Still…read morewas having some issues. They charged us about $1500 to do a hydro-jet clean out service. Still didn't fix the issue. They said we needed to replace some parts near the main line and it would cost about $6k. We got a second opinion and they weren't able to find the same issue with what rooter hero recommended replacing...the second opinion person recommended to check the actual toilet, remove gasket etc. and we did. Found the issue!! There were roots in the pipe. This is why I would not recommend rooter hero because I feel like we wasted $1500 on a hydrojet service we didn't need. They looked with a camera as well and didn't find the actual problem.

I used another business before for something else, while they were good and had 24/7 availability, they charge $95 just to come out. Zoom Drain offered to come out and look at my yard pipe (there was water build up from all this rain and it just seemed a bit clogged) without any charges. And it looks like I'm just at the cusp of their service so I'm super glad I found them. So with my pipe, with all the rain there was some water build up. It didn't seem too bad so I went with the cheapest quote (should have known better) since I figured it's just to snake the drain/pipe. As soon as that other person/business came out, it went from $93 to $250... then they told me they couldn't do it, and I had to hydro jet for about 3 times more the cost than Zoom Drain! Or to replace my pipes altogether for $8000!!!!!!! Given they had very little review I wanted a second opinion and additional quotes. I know Zoom Drain would come out free of charge so I immediately contacted them and they came out the same day! Literally just a couple of hours after I contacted them. Maurice came out and he was professional, patient, just super duper nice. He explained why there was water build up and how it's normal! Basically my drain for my yard pipes is just too high up on my front yard, and places like San Francisco even drill holes into the sidewalk to drain. But as long as I'm not flooded anywhere, there's no issue. He checked everything and even if I needed to hydro jet it was about 1/3 of the cost the other place quoted me! He didn't even offer to snake my drain since the other business tried but "failed" and told me I needed to replace my pipes... *insert side eye emoji right here* I did end up asking Maurice to run diagnostics, he tested all my drains and everything was working normally. And that's it. Saved myself a whole bunch of money. Would have saved myself a lot of time/stress too if I just went to them in the first place. Lesson learned. All I can say to Zoom Drain is: thank you thank you thank you! And a big thanks to Maurice!
