What gems. Originally requested a quote via Yelp and Ken, the owner, followed up via email with specifics in terms of logistics, costs, personnel and more. When we took some time to get back to Ken (because we were shopping around) he was very responsive and showed good form in following up to make a booking. Once booked, the movers called the morning of to let us know they were on their way. They arrived on time, ready to work. The three movers were very kind, speedy and really, just nice dudes. I wish I could remember their names. They got our move completed in about 3.5 hours and were totally careful with our personal things. I know they damaged my roommate's portrait by mistake but the move coordinator took photos right away, was apologetic and made sure it would be resolved in a timely fashion. Overall, real sweet fellas who kept to themselves mostly and even let us help them pack the truck up! read more

EDIT (to address the response from Denver Small Moves): I find it surprising that Denver Small Moves is blaming ABF Freight for the issues I experienced since my complaint focused on issues that occurred before ABF Freight picked up the trailer. I had a fantastic experience with ABF Freight and would recommend them to anyone moving cross country. I am adding pictures to show how the Denver Small Moves team packed the trailer. You can see the 60" TV box balancing on a few small boxes (and a large open gap below it) before it fell on the stool leg. You can also see our dining room table placed directly on the ground of the truck without any furniture blanket and only shrink wrap around the center. This is the type of packing that led to so many scratches on our furniture. I have also included photos showing how our other furniture items were wrapped by Denver Small Moves. _______ Original post: We hired Denver Small Moves to pack our 1-bedroom apartment into a moving trailer. We were shocked to see how the trailer was packed once the team departed. Our 60" TV was at the top of the stack balancing on an uneven surface. This led to the TV box falling over just after the team left and being punctured by the leg of a stool that was set next to it. Our dining room table was balanced on its side with no blanket wrapping it. There were plenty of leftover blankets that were not used. I immediately called Denver Small Moves when I saw the way it was packed because I was concerned. I was transferred to Nick. I explained the situation and he told me to call back once we unloaded at the destination. When we unloaded our furniture at the other end, 80% of our furniture ended up with scratches or dents due to the way it was packed. The crew that unloaded could not believe that most of the furniture was not wrapped in blankets, leaving edges exposed to be damaged. Damages included: - Bed frame - Dining room table - Dining room chairs - Garment rack - Marble end table - Sofa - Vase I then called back as instructed to explain the amount of damage (which was actually worse than I expected) and was told that the company was not liable since they only loaded the truck. They also said that everything was wrapped how they always do and packed accordingly. If that's how everything is always wrapped, I'd be very concerned. read more

Fast professional service. Competitive pricing. A couple pieces of furniture were slightly damaged in the move and probably could have used a little more wrapping with blankets. They moved some heavy stuff through narrow stairways with no damage to the walls which is impressive. All in all would recommend them if you are considering a move in the Denver metro. read more

Key and Dre were super helpful and professional helping us move from an apartment to a house. I couldn't believe how quickly they were able to finish the move despite stairs and a ramp from the apartment complex to their truck. We will definitely be going with Denver Small Moves in the future! read more

We used this moving company once before and they were great. Guess we got lucky the first time because they were HORRIBLE! They were over three hours late. Which I totally understand if another move runs late, BUT THAT DOESN'T GIVE THE MOVERS THE RIGHT TO NOT TAKE CARE OF MY THINGS! They did not wrap ANY of my furniture. They did not even tape my dresser drawers and one broke. AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME. (See picture). They also seriously dented my desk somehow (see picture). They complained the whole time about how they were "just ready to be done". They also forgot the shelves to one dresser and I had to return to the old place to get them myself. They were overly loud and it was upsetting to watch just how little they cared for my stuff. They also banged things into the walls and left marks. I would not use them again. Very sad to see a local small business with such poor customer care. read more

Fast, on time and efficient. Perfect. they took away some old stuff that I didnt need either.

From the first email, to the watching the men fold up the blankets in our new driveway, our experience with Denver Small Moves was THE BEST moving experience, and we've had some fine movers, including corporate movers. I don't know how they fit us in. It was a sudden move in August. Jay looked at our furniture by FaceTime and gave us a quote. As we planned our move, Jay and Dillon answered any questions within an hour. The four young men showed up on time. They rank among the highest I've **ever** met for sincerity, friendliness, courtesy, respect. They worked tirelessly, with sweat pouring from their foreheads on down, all the while laughing and joking with each other. They worked with speed and they made decisions rapidly It was amazing to watch them load the truck "like a game of Tetris," putting things in all the nooks and crannies, and arranging them again as more things arrived, to make everything snug. The heaviest things were hauled out out of our old home with ease. THEN THEY WERE HAULED UP 63 IRREGULAR STONE STEPS INTO THE NEW HOME, which twist over a hill in the woods, also with ease. NOTHING WAS DAMAGED. All in all, I was sorry to see them leave! read more

Funny how quickly they respond to get your business and then you are talking to a black hole when they break something. Also watch out for nuts and bolts and washers. They will reassemble your stuff, won't use all the parts and then they lie about it. Pretty sure the manufacturer of my bed wanted all those nuts and washers on there for a reason. They did send an extra guy and another truck but they were incapable of getting a sleeper sofa from the basement in one piece and they were sure standing around a lot every time I went outside. It's like a bunch of teenagers with no supervision. Won't use them again. read more

A second phenomenal move by Denver Small Movers! I'm moving out of state and needed movers to put all of the items from my two bedroom house into a POD. From start to finish, the process was seamless. I requested a quote on the website, answered questions about the details of my move, and was booked less than 24 hours later. On the day of the move, Daniel gave me a call an hour before the scheduled arrival time and continued to communicate effectively throughout the moving process. Daniel arrived with Josh and Ray - they were professional, respectful and efficient. They carefully wrapped furniture, knew how to handle my artwork and fragile process All of my items were loaded with no breakages or issues. Thank you for making moving easy!! read more

As a 70 year old single female, I was very careful in choosing a local moving company for a February 22, 2022 move from a 1,100 sq ft 2 bedroom condo (with one bedroom used for storage), the new place being around 2 miles away. I read reviews, asked for recommendations on Nextdoor, and received quotes from 5 different companies. By the time I chose Denver Small Moves for my move I felt fairly confident that I had made a good choice. They were not the cheapest, but had good reviews. I was quoted a flat fee rate of $1,060 for up to 4 hours. "This price includes 4 professional movers, 26 foot moving truck, furniture blankets, dollies, straps, shrink wrap, tools for disassembly and reassembly. If it takes longer, we charge $230 per hour." With 4 movers (which was more than the other companies had said were needed) I felt that could keep the time pretty close to the 4 hours. The crew arrived on time, were pleasant and seemed ready to work. But when all was done, it took over 6 hours and I paid over $1,600. The furniture was placed massed all together in the rooms still needing to be arranged. Some pieces stilled wrapped in plastic. The cushions for the couch, leaned against another item on the floor. The mattress for my bed leaned up against the wall in another room. I have included pictures (the pool table was already there, they didn't move it). They had not asked to do a final walkthrough and I didn't go look until after I paid them and they left. When I called the company, they offered to send two movers for 2 hours at an additional $300. From my point of view, I had already spent $600 more than I had hoped and still needed help to place the items where they belonged. read more

These folks are excellent. They moved all the furniture in our 600-scholar school into the gym so that we can install tile over the summer. They were quick, detail-oriented, professional, and careful. Would 100% hire them again! read more

We are absolutely thrilled with our service! we had the pleasure of having Ricardo, Lane, and Jorge help us with our move! Our previous movers were a nightmare so we switched to Denver Small Moves for this move and we couldn't have been happier! Great prices and they honor our packaging and didnt force us to have them wrap everything again like our last moves. I will be recommending Denver Small Moves for everyone! 10/10 nothing bad to say! read more

Alex and Angel did an amazing job. 10/10 the service was great, they were on time and cery friendly.

Good responsive movers that were able to help me when I needed to change my plans. Charged me more than the hours they worked by an hour. Small knicks and tiny damages while moving but that was to be expected and pretty minimum. Overall pretty good! read more

Great customer service. After posting my review Ken followed up with me and reimbursed me for damages. He also explained that he had a meeting with the 3 movers and set things straight. He runs a great, honest company and I'm glad I did business with him. read more

Roman and the team (can't remember the other two names - sorry!) - were amazing! They were really quick and efficient. All of my furniture was protected and shrink wrapped. My wife and I were having the floors refinished on the main level of our house so we needed to get EVERYTHING out and store it in the detached garage around back. Because the sliding glass door in the back of the house is really narrow, this meant that larger items like the couch, refrigerator, oven and a few other items had to be loaded on to a truck and driven around to be unloaded into the garage. This is the definition of a "small move" and these guys handled it amazingly well. They're up front with their costs, which annoyed me with other movers that quoted me an hourly rate and said getting the job done in one hour wouldn't be a problem, then upon trying to schedule something let it be known that they have a two hour minimum. Their crews are courteous and respectful of your stuff and your home. They move quickly, but carefully, making sure that they get the work done in a timely manner without causing any damage. This company is a pleasure to work with and I'd highly recommend them and they'll be first on my list if I ever need this service again. read more

Denver Small Moves helped with my Daughter's out-of-state move. After a getting courtesy call for an ETA, the two gentlemen pulled up masked up! They were professional with great attitudes and didn't mind improvising when we got hit with a curve ball of having to lift a bed off of the balcony due to a narrow staircase. DSM made the move painless. I highly recommend them for anyone moving in Denver. read more

Can't speak on the moving service since I'm not using them, but the customer service is complete trash. The email said to call because they needed more information but when I called the guy didn't want any information so now I'm just clueless on the cost. He just said I look forward to your email. I don't have time to deal with idiots. Your business begins and ends with customer service. If you can't even do initial estimates correctly, why would I trust you to move my house? read more

These guys were great! I had Daniel, Joshua, and Caesar today. They were all phenomenal, cheery, professional, and efficient. They helped me wrap all of my furniture for storage and were extra effective at transporting everything making sure it all got there ok. Highly recommend them! They listened to all my requests and notes and were excellent communicators. Great crew :) My booking process was easy as well. I used yelp to get a quote and responded and confirmed with the guys via email. All correspondence was super prompt, all my questions answered, and we did a virtual walk through to confirm everything. After I gave them a list of furniture they adjusted my crew from 2 to 3 guys which I think was spot on. Compared to the other companies I submitted reviews to, Ken and Nick were head and shoulders ahead with their communication. Thanks again! read more

My wife and I just finished our third job with Denver Small Moves and I think the fact that we hired them a third time shows how much we trust the company for moving our family's belongings. This time our movers were Carlos, Andrew and Tony -- they were all great to work with. They were timely, professional, hardworking and personable. They went above and beyond to get the job done... our couch was too big to navigate down our stairs, so they removed the railings (and subsequently replaced them) to get it down. We also hired them to pack our kitchen, and every fragile piece of china and glassware made the move without a crack! We can't recommend Denver Small Moves enough! Hopefully, we're done moving for a while, but if we ever do again, we know who we're calling. read more

Movers attempted to move a 3200 sq ft house in one day, which ended up in four tired young men who worked 12+ hours. From 9-11pm they were tired enough to basically be hurling furniture and boxes throughout the house and dinged or scraped most pieces of furniture and the walls of our brand new house. They got mud all over the floors, carpets and walls. The whole move was mismanaged and chaotic. The company did refer me to a furniture repair person since I had bought the extended insurance, but I had to find my own repair person for the clean up and repainting. Do not recommend. read more

I recently used Denver Small Moves for my move and was very pleased with the service. They quote a flat rate with no hidden fees which was fair and accurate. The team was a little late due to an issue outside of their control but were in communication with me about it. The three man team was polite, professional and worked very hard to get my belongings to my new home quickly and safely. They navigated two older homes (as is common in Denver) with skill and there were ZERO dings to walls or my furniture which hasn't been my experience in the past. The narrow staircases didn't phase them either! I was very impressed with the team and would absolutely recommend this company to anyone needing movers. They finished exactly on time within my 3 hour time window almost to the minute and moved things we had planned to move ourselves! Saved us a lot of time and effort by working so efficiently. read more

I used Denver Small Moves for a 750 square foot apartment, moving from Denver to Arvada. It was just about two hours to live everything. The communication prior to was very quick and detailed and the day of, the movers were kind, efficient and careful. read more

They did my move at the beginning of July. They did a visual quote that said they required 3 movers and 2 trucks. On the day of the move 2 guys showed up with 2 trucks. We only ended up needing 2 trucks. Then I got charged extra time because the 2 guys took longer than the 3 guys would have. So even though I should have been given a discount for their staffing issue, I actually got charged more. They also scratched up my freshly painted walls throughout multiple areas and the hallways are not narrow. Overall I am not that happy with the situation, they are just another run of the mill moving company. 8/26/19 Update - upgraded them from a 2 to a 4 star. Following my review the owner reached out to me regarding my issues. He was willing to adjust my invoice based on only 2 movers coming to the job. I am happy they are willing to stand behind their service and that Ken was willing to quickly resolve the issue. read more

Our movers were amazing. Antonio and the crew were awesome and worked so hard! We would hire them again.

Everything was as promised. Three super nice guys showed up the morning of the move and had everything done within the 4-hour flat-rate limit. No damage save a nick in the stair rail that is easily corrected. They even moved some heavy furniture already at the new place from the main floor to a loft. I sure did appreciate that little bit of extra work. It was interesting to hear their communication as they would navigate large items around corners or up and over obstacles. I've used several movers in my life but not have seen any that communicated this well. Hopefully I won't need to use them again, but I will recommend them to anyone else needing a move. read more

I received a lot of quotes for this job with confusing add-on pricing and high time estimates. Denver Small Moves offered a reasonable rate for 2 hours of work and 2 movers. Arturo and Sergio exceeded expectations! They were on time, fast and professional. Would definitely recommend. read more

This moving company helped me load my Penske truck in Denver for my move to California. I would like to recommend this company but they showed up without moving tape and then proceeded to use my tape during the move. I was told they would show up with tape and plastic wrap.... this didn't happen and I think this is a major faux-pas since they ARE movers! It ended up costing more than expected but the guys themselves worked hard and did a good job except for the TV I asked them to pack up. Instead of putting the screws back in the TV stand, they were missing at the other end and I had to use/find new screws! All in all they worked hard but moving tape is a pretty basic necessity and in fact I was happy that I had sealed all boxes because most movers will seal your boxes before loading on the truck. Update: after reading the owners counter to my review I want to add the following: I had them pack one small TV and that was it! I was pretty prepared when they arrived but wanted the TV professionally packed. I have moved 12 times in the last 10 years so I'm pretty well versed in moving and this was my 4th interstate move. Movers should bring tape to a job since there are times a box may not be properly sealed.... many reasons I can think of and It's downright irresponsible not to! I recommend you look else where for a moving company. The moving company who unloaded me on the other end were better and I think you can do better too. read more
