Brent is an excellent host and an all-around nice guy who knows his stuff about beer. Three breweries doesn't sound like a lot, but it's plenty. The samples are very generous. Our tour met up at Pint's Pub (I would recommend eating before you set out), then we first toured Breckenridge Brewery. Got a behind-the-scenes tour while drinking a pint of our choice. Then you sit down to sample six of their beers. Then it's into the van to snarf down some Cheetos and head to Strange Brewery, a gem of a local brewery that's doing very tasty craft beers just for their small tap room. This was the highlight for me - I'm so glad to have found this place and I will be back. The tour winds up back at Pint's Pub where you sample what seemed like beer after beer after beer. Brent was very informative and the 3 breweries we went to (including one cider place) were VERY generous with the samples. I would definitely recommend you arrange a safe ride home afterwards. Let me count the ways in which our/your future tour guide Brent is awesome: - Even though my friend and I ended up being the only reservations for a particular night, he did not cancel the tour; - He will take you to three different breweries varied in size, age, and ambience; - He will answer all of your smart and stupid questions; - There is no pressure if you choose to not finish all of your samples at the stops (don't be afraid, lightweights); - He will drive your drunk asses safely from brewery to brewery while you're having fun; - And he knows a ton of information about beer, the beer-making process, different breweries around the country, and is an all-around nice guy. The timing was so off. Not to mention the "entertainment" on the tour. Not funny, not informative, and at times impossible to even decipher. Not enough beer at first. Then it really dragged- drinking beer but with nothing to eat or to do. Part of this time was "10 or 12 minutes" where he "wrapped things up at Breckinridge (i.e. Got a growler) We wound up leaving the tour early out of frustration. We left Pint's Pub at 10 PM (a half hour after the tour should have arrived) and there was still no sign of them. We have been on quite a few brewery tours, and this one was notably off the mark. This was a fantastic tour! Brent is super friendly and has great rapport with all the breweries! At Breckenridge you get a full pint of your choice, then get an awesome tour where you can ask questions. Then it's time for 6 samples. The beauty of this is you get to tour four breweries. Even my fiancée, who isn't a big beer drinker, loved it. Brent is an excellent tour guide and explains the beer making process well. My boyfriend and I did this when they had the Groupon offer, so the price was great (I normally wouldn't be able to comfortably afford this). It was well-organized and the guide was very knowledgable and just a generally friendly/cool guy. The tour of Breckenridge was very cool (especially the included pint and samples, as well as the opportunity to eat barley) and informative. The visit to Strange (tiny) was a great contrast to the bigger, more established brewery. Ending at Pints was fun but their beers did not stand out quite as much (but this also could've been due to my intoxication). An overall fun experience with some cool people, just normally a bit pricey considering how easy doing something similar using RTD (or moderation) would be. read more
