17th floor observation deck view of the clock face.

Our tour of the D&F Tower on 16th St was great! We had never been up despite being Denver natives. The views...Spectacular!...Adrenalin Rush?...just enough while out on the observation decks!...A true Denver landmark that would be a great easy tour for anyone. Elevator is about 25ft from the curb, up to the 17th floor for the initial views from the lower observation deck. 3 flights of stairs to the upper deck views. No stairs at all to get on the 17th floor deck. Highly recommended!

We were going to be heading thru Denver on our way to see my son and wanted something interesting to do. I am always up for a historical adventure and this one did not fail. Titanic artifacts made it a plus! We chose the self guided tour, but staff were available to answer any questions. The only down side was it was a bit warm, which is to be expected from an older building, and also, the one hour seemed a bit rushed. We had the final reservation for the day, and as such, missed out on the gift store as it closed promptly at 5. It would be nice to keep it open at least 30 minutes after the final tour. Other than that, a great field trip destination for all ages!

Rebecca was a fabulous tour guide. She talked about the geology of the houses built out of Rhyolite and Castle Rock Sandstone. We also learned about "poets row" that was constructed after the great depression. Poets row is an eclectic group of apartments, named after famous poets and other writers. This tour is well worth one's time to understand Denvers rich history as a supplier to mining communities during the gold rush. A time when many individuals became wealthy overnight. A fun walking tour!

I've been meaning to visit for most of my life and finally took the self guided tour this weekend. it was lovely and the staff are very knowledgeable. I loved having a little information basket in each room so you can read more about the specific room and sometimes you have a sample of the wallpaper etc. in the basket to hold and examine closer. such a cool place.

Capitol Hill tour guide Lindsey was well-informed and friendly. We liked the variety of houses and the stories of the occupants.

This was a fantastic experience. I brought my seven-year-old and 10-year-old, and both really enjoyed themselves.

Not sure if the wedding was catered by another company or the castle itself. Definitely recommend for a great venue!

A few days before the tour was scheduled I got an email from The City Tour, saying two of their four venues had backed out, but they would find suitable replacements. When we arrived for the tour we were blithely informed that there would only be three restaurants on the tour, not the four promised (and paid for.) The tour guide was hardly worthy of the name. Literally all she did was lead us from place to place, never one addressing the group about the history of the area, the restaurants we were going to, anything. At the first stop we did receive what we were promised in terms of a short speech from a restaurant worker about the history of the building. The food, however, was hardly the gormet fare we had been promised: a fried mac-and-cheese ball with (overly sweet) marinara dipping sauce. This trend repeated itself at the next two establishments: we received bar food, not gormet nibbles. And after the first restaurant, no one spoke to us at all about the history of the buildings, the style of food, anything. We had been led to believe there would be kitchen tours and cooking demonstrations: not at all so. After the tour I wrote to The City Tour to explain that I didn't feel they had delivered on what their website had promised in the least, and I felt I was owed at least a partial refund because I only visited 3 restaurants. No response, ever. I would give less than one star if I could.

It is located in the ritzy Capitol Hill part of town. This stately home is on the National Register of Historic Homes, as it is a well-preserved architectural example of American Foursquare. Locally, this type of house is called a "Denver Square," which simply means that the design has four square rooms on the first and second floors. According to Wikipedia "Mamie Eisenhower lived in this house from 1906 until 1916. The Eisenhowers were married in the first floor music room on July 1, 1916. Their son, John Eisenhower was born in Denver on August 3, 1922, while Mamie was living in the house." After Mamie Eisenhower's mother died in 1960, she sold the home to a real estate investor. Since then, the house has gone through several owners. It is still privately owned and not available for tours. But Denver city tour operators do stop along the street in front of the house and talk about it's history. The Mamie Doud House is something the city Of Denver is proud of, as the Doud family were prosperous and their daughter Mamie certainly married well. Mamie Doud is so beloved that a park in southeast Denver was named after her as well as a public library in Broomfield, Colorado, a suburb of Denver. As a Historic Home on the National Registry, the Mamie Doud House is a great example of America's late 19th and early 20th century architectural heritage. 4 YELP STARS.

It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

This event is for young and old and I highly recommend going!
