I have had some horrible experiences with doctors in the past but Dr. Lee and his staff were INCREDIBLE. He is such a sweet, gentle, and understanding man. I went here for the first time today. Being a military spouse, one of the hardest parts of moving every few years is having to find a new dentist and eye doctor each time. I am happy to have found the Dental Team of Sumter. Dr. Thad and everyone else that I met this morning were super friendly! Wow, this is truly the best dentist I've ever had. I broke the back of my molar off and he numbed me up before jabbing me with the needle AND I didn't even feel the needle!! (And I'm a huge needle chicken). I didn't feel any of it! And dr. Lee's assistant, Ivy was so nice and she stayed with me the entire time! They don't just numb ya and say see ya in 10; they are caring. But more than caring... the Dr. Is hilarious! I mean super funny!! Was looking for a dentist as I had just moved to the area. Found a list of dentists from my insurance and proceeded to do research, but like many businesses in Sumter, found very few reviews to help me with my decision. I chose he Dental Team primarily because of their website and volunteering in Latin America. I called on a Thursday requesting an exam and cleaning and they were able to get me in for both the following Monday. They seem to have very good hours (e.g., 7:30am appointments), but I have a fexible work schedule, so could accommodate the first (mid-morning) appointment they offered. The office is clean and staff is friendly and very helpful - the receptionist helped me to track down x-rays from my last dentist and oral surgeon. I was taken to the exam room shortly after completing initial paperwork where additionl x-rays were taken. While waiting for the dentist I was shown a video, which I was told they have all adult patients watch. Though all about dental hygience,this helped to pass the 8-10 minute wait time. The dentist, Dr. Lee, was also friendly, chatty and funny. I very much appreciated the time he took to walk me through what he saw on the x-rays and used a dental camera to take pictures of my individual molars in order to show where I would need work. Thankfully no cavities, but he did suggest some sealants. Again, I appreciated that he was looking to preventive options first, instead of jumping straight to say I would eventually need fillings and send me on my way. The one action that sets this review to 5++ stars was from their offer to take care of the sealants during that same visit! It was only about an additional 10 minutes onto an 1.25 hour appointment so I figured why not. The hygenist was able to take care of my cleaning and sealants at the same time. Again, the hygenist (sadly I forget her name :-/) was incredibly nice and thoughtful - making sure I was comfortable throughout. There were probably about a hand full of other patients in at the same time so I'm pretty sure they weren't just looking for ways to fill their time by having me stay longer. The location is about 5 minutes from Shaw AFB, so convenient if you live on the base. Considering I probably have many options of dentists within 5-10 minutes of my home, I will definitely continue to drive the additional 10 minutes to Dental Team given the positive experience! read more

The Dental Team of Sumter is a GREAT team!! I recently relocated from Atlanta to Sumter and Dr. Vincent and his wonderful staff especially Ms Marie are always a wonderful group. I was very uneasy and scared about having an implant and they made me feel 100% relaxed and eased my concerns. Dr. Vincent is an awesome dentist and I do recommend him to as many people as possible!!
