My insurance has reversed some of its claims and has reversed those overpayment charges on my behalf. I'm ashamed that an alleged "upstanding" profession such as a dentist resides and operates a business with very questionable practices in our community. I mentioned to him that my gums had been bothering me ever since I had my wisdom teeth removed. Initially, he told me to just ignore it until it became unbearable. This year, the discomfort got worse, so I brought it up again. He referred me to McKinney Associates PIE. When I went there, they told me I had to get a 3D X-ray first--which my insurance doesn't cover--before the doctor could even examine my teeth. The X-ray came back normal. After the X-ray, the dentist began checking my teeth and found that one of my teeth was missing a portion, which is why my gums had been bothering me so badly. I was then told I needed to go back to Dr. Allen to have it fixed. How does that make sense? Shouldn't Melissa Dental have identified this issue before sending me somewhere else? And it didn't end there. I tried to make an appointment to fix the problem, but was told Dr. Allen wouldn't see me without a referral--from the very same specialist he had referred me to. He's my dentist, and I now need a referral to return to him? It's too much. I'm done with them--and so is my entire family.

Now my son is complaining of pain and I have to take him to see another dentist to review the work that she did.
