ILLEGAL CONTRACTS. DO NOT GO HERE. I was assigned to this office by the California Dental Grant program. When I arrived for my free assessment, I filed out all the normal intake forms, including the normal arbitration agreement. When that was done, I was handed back my ID and insurance cards and told, "oh wait, there's one more form we need you to sign". Imagine my surprise when the "form" was a HIGHLY ILLEGAL review gag order. That was made illegal by the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA), a federal law protecting consumers' right to share honest reviews online or offline without penalty from businesses. I told them out was illegal to make me sign this. Honestly, when I said that, I was expecting them to go "Oh, Thanks, we didn't know. Don't worry about signing it". Instead, they doubled down, and told me if I didn't sign it, I wasnt going to receive treatment. I told them that just made it EVEN MORE ILLEGAL. And they told me "if you don't sign it, we reserve the right to refuse you as a customer. That means we won't see you today for your assessment. You're welcome to go home and think it over, and reschedule if you reconsider". That is blatantly manipulative and coercive. And HIGHLY ILLEGAL. Grill work, chopper adjustments, pearly white maintenance...whatever you call it, dental work is sometimes stuff the likes of which can make some grown men cry. Most women I know have an amazing tolerance for pain but even then a lot of folks can't stand the dentist. Knock on wood I haven't had any major dental work since I had braces in the 9th and 10th grade which means I'm not writing this review based on personal experience. I am however writing this on behalf of my guy who for lack of better explanation, isn't one to spend time waxing poetic on topics fit for Yelp. So here I am in an attempt to convey his review on his experience with Dr. Z. He had some pretty hairy dental work...dental surgery and some lengthy healing time. I don't know if there's a textbook in existence that would properly explain what it would be like to care for someone who's gone through what he did these last few months. If it does exist I can bet its accuracy in depicting the exact experience is likely not anywhere close to reality. Let's just say if we had to do it all over again I would not hesitate to look up Dr. Z and consult his expertise a second or third time. You get what you pay for here...that is to say dental service is not inexpensive, the work is intricate as is dental equipment and restorative dentistry is in a class by itself. Thankfully my guy was in the care of Dr. Z for all of it and yes, he was a little challenging at times but he made it through (or should I say *I* made it through) and both of us are stronger for the experience. His treatment isn't complete just yet but we're more than half way through and I'm confident smiles will be downright gorgeous when all is done. Dr. Z is a great fit for us but as with any major life event, DO research your options and make a decision that's right for you. read more

found this dental office by chance thru a referral by a grant program. i had a small list of dental issues to take care of since it had been a long while. between work and my move I kept delaying seeing the dentist. but I know that I had to  get my dental health back in order. their doctor took time to show me by pictures and xrays exactly what needed to be addressed. the office is modern and everyone was so nice and polite. i am happy so far and cannt wait to go back in soon for my whitening later this month. read more

Don't waste your time and gas. I drove all the way there for nothing. Horrible customer service. I had an emergency and had to leave before the financial meeting that I was told it would take 20 minutes. I was told before I left they would call me, that it was ok. I went back in after leaving and was told they closed my account because I left, even though they said it was ok to leave. Then they told me they would call me at 2pm the next day. They never called me. I called them at 3:30pm. They said the front desk didn't input my appointment. I give up. I wasted $60 driving there. The office deco is scary. The staff is rude and they lied. They got upset because I didn't want to take a picture in the lobby with their iPad. That was weird to me so I didn't want to do it. My friend's dad owned a successful dental office in San Diego. I plan to get advice from him tomorrow. My friend came in with me as a witness that I was there and was seen. So happy I didn't move forward. I see other people had much more problems. I had a bad feeling about this grant that was promised. I feel this is a scam. I'll ask for my x-rays in the morning. I'll keep you posted on this experience with this office. After almost a year, they ended up finally refunding me a portion of this claim but I had to call them constantly. I would give them months in between and wouldn't hear back. It shouldn't be such a struggle to get the money that they took unlawfully. Part of the claim was never filled appropriately so I ended up having to file a grievance with my insurance since this facility kept insisting my insurance wouldn't cover it. Guess what over a year and a half later and after having to provide the correct information to the insurance myself, it ended up being covered. Seems pretty off that I was able to provide the insurance with the correct information and the dental office was unable to since I'm not the one working in a dental office. Now i'm just trying to get my money back from them and I contacted them over a month ago and still no reply. They charged me over $2000 for an orthotic out of pocket since they claimed my insurance wouldn't cover it. My insurance has an agreement that it should have only been a little over $400 and my insurance covers half of that. I've never felt so ripped off by a place until this office. I had to beg them to file the initial claim because they kept telling me it wouldn't be covered but I read the details of my insurance coverage and even confirmed with a insurance representative that it would be covered but they just wanted to keep the money. Their trick is to say that they will have you pay upfront and that their office protocol is to process the insurance after so that they can get away with things like this. I guess that should have been the first red flag. I really hate having to be this person but swindling someone out of over $1000 from a place you're trusting with you teeth is terrible and I feel everyone should be warned about the terrible business management of this office. I hope this can prevent people from being scammed by this place in the future because they have wasted so much of my time and energy dealing with this. read more

I have had upper dentures for 5 years but nothing on the bottom due to some issues. because of these issues I've always wanted fixed or snap on dentures. I received a dental grant that paid for a portion of the work that I needed done. So I went in for a consult with Dr. Z. Everyone was so kind and friendly and the Dr. Z Put all my anxiety at ease right away. I had several appointments for the implants and fittings and after 6 months I finally walked out with the most beautiful set of teeth!
