This is probably the worst restaurant in Yakima. I would recommend you and your family not to go here. It used to be a good place to go out to eat with your family, not so much anymore. I just left this place and I got a few things that were not ordered correctly. First of all I asked for regular fries not seasoned fries I waited until they brought me the regular ones and this was not until everyone was done eating. Second I told them I wanted chocolate milk for my niece they brought her hot chocolate which she couldn't drink because it was too hot. I also ordered the cups they have on their kids menu (Trolls) and they told me they had them so I ordered two only to find out about 10 mins later they were out and only had snowmen ones. I also asked for a refill on my Coke and was told they charge for refills now? What a joke. After all the mistakes they made they can't even bother to give out free refills? By the way I waited and waited for about 5 mins after I got my to go box for my check and my waitress was nowhere to be found. Never going again and I would advise you to not go either. read more

Do not stop. Walked in and the place was a mess. We thought, maybe they were swamped because it was Mother's Day, and didn't have time to catch up. Waiter was as nice as he could be. The food came out. Nasty veggie burger. So salty and old I couldn't believe it. My husbands order came out wrong, but the omelette they brought was swimming in grease. For the price I give it a 4. Denny's is Denny's. Consistent and relaxed atmosphere. I'm not comparing it to more expensive restaurants, but I like it because you can sit there as long as you want and not feel like you're being pushed through. Staff is nice. read more

So we went there last night. Wasn't planned visit. I came across an offer to where we get a free veggie burger with just a purchase of a drink. I can tell you this the burger is worth it. Its moist has good flavor. And looks like meat. Very well dressed. If this review was on the burger it would be a 5 star. Here is where things went down hill to get two stars. Looking back we probably should have asked clarification. So we both order our free burgers. The server asked if we want regular or seasoned fries. We both say seasoned. Didn't think anything of it since burgers are traditionally served with fries. The server asked if we wanted any dessert. She said they have $1 special on pecan and pumpkin pie. Trying to get rid of them. The server never brought us our bill. So we were surprised that the fries were not free nor was the pie slices $1. The server should have said fries are not included and checked the prices of the pie slices. We did save $22 on the burgers. We ended up paying about $20 out of pocket. Which we were thinking about $7. My advice is when you are receiving a promotional price. Ask what is included or additional. read more

I usually sit in the bar at this Denny's, I sat in the restaurant today and after having our server walk by us for almost 20 minutes and ignoring us completely. Small town with limited breakfast restaurants. They were not busy for a Sunday, however, the food took forever to get and my order was wrong. I said nothing to the waitress because I didn't want to wait another 30+ minutes for the right order!! She took my order and double checked that it was right by clarifying what I said. I had the chicken fried beef steak and was brought back fried chicken. Maybe their English was not good, or it was miscommunicated to the cooks?! The coffee tasted like it was fresh at some point, but it was put into a stale flavored pitcher that killed the fresh flavor. We placed a to-go order after we got our dine-in order. It was simple kids menu breakfast items (I mean it is Denny's) and that took even longer to get than the dine in food and it ALSO lacked food items that were ordered. I guess when the standards are set low, then you can't expect to get simple orders out right and on time. I don't recommend this place unless you have nowhere else to go. My family and I ate dinner at Denny's tonight. We ordered the salmon dinner. While eating the salmon a piece of metal was found. It looked similar in appearance to a curly sharp metal from a scrubber. I advised the waitress and suggested that she talk to the cook to clean the grill off. She took the shard and immediately she could be heard talking to the cook. The waitress returned later, filled out drinks, took our plates and left the check. There was nothing further said and no visit from the manager. We were charged full price for the salmon. When I went to pay I asked the gentleman if he was the manager. He replied yes. I advised him of the metal in our salmon and that I was surprised he didn't follow up and that we were charged full price. At first he was just a blank stare and said "oh what..." And then said well didn't you get a reorder? I responded no. Oh well I thought I you got a reorder. I will no longer eat there and that I was surprised he didn't follow up. He said oh, umm, well, she told me about it umm, so, umm well ummmm, well what can I do. I advised him to ring the bill. He handed me back my receipt so that I could total it. I gave the waitress a 20% tip as I had no problem with her service and advised Israel, the manager, that I appreciated the waitress however he failed at his job as it is his job as manager to follow up with the customer. He said he was busy. No he wasn't. We noted the lack of visit and watched him prior to going to pay. Tired? Drugs? Bad manager? Very disappointed and will not be eating there again. Very poor customer service .!!! I asked to be seated someone more private and I was told that I was not able to seat in the area I requested.. it wasn't a reserved area .it wasnt an area where age is restricted. I was told she didn't have enough staff to serve me on that side . And when I asked her to make an exception because of my situation ( which was an emotional conversation) she told me she would ask the manager . I was hopeful the manager would be more understanding but she was more concerned of the extra 15 ft her waitress would have to take than me wanting privacy. My family and I moved from California 2 weeks ago and Denny's has been a part of our weekend tradition for as long as I can remember. Ive also been to many Denny's across the nation due to my job. Unfortunately I have to say that this has been a very unpleasant welcoming on behalf of Yakima Denny's. I asked for my usual breakfast plate that I substitute with egg whites instead of regular eggs and was told by my server that they do not have egg whites due to the salmonella outbreak BUT i was able to order regular eggs instead which frankly made no sense to me ( dont regular eggs also have egg whites?), so then i decided to order my second best plate the Turkey burger but to my surprise they dont make it here in Yakima ( or WA?not sure, haven't been to another Denny's since), so I settled for a cup of coffee instead. Also when we ordered our drinks we weren't given any straws, the table was still wet when we sat down from being previously cleaned and they didnt have any large " to go" plates, overall, pretty disappointed. Its worth mentioning the great effort on the servers part to be courious and friendly once she realized I was disappointed that they didnt have any of my favorite dishes. Got terrible service and the lady never came back to check on our table. Got 0 refills and had to go up front to pay no receipt brought to us. The busser brought us refills and was more helpful then our waitress or the manager. Very poorly ran. Went to this Denny's after a club as we do anywhere I visit , avoid this place at all cost , Shari's is right across the street with better service and management , having been in the food service industry prior for 5 years , for the manager to call the police without having come and question or asking us to bring down the noise level , was very poor judgement on her part, 30 min went by after our order was taken , and still no food , and when I asked her for a corporate number , or who the owner operator was , she claimed she didn't know it , instead gave the number back to the store. And not even a name at first but than produced a name , not very professional at all. So I will be doing my own research and complaining to someone a little more important because I find it hard to believe that these eating establishments are not influenced on a corporate level, considering Denny's is a well known name . Nasty, featured menu was "Baconalia" all breakfasts made with bacon. Ordered bacon, eggs and toast. Bacon was cooked to powder, thin as paper, I rubbed it between my fingers and they turned black. The wait staff were attentive and very good but when they brought that pathetic bacon out it was obvious that they are expected to serve that garbage as acceptable. Took 40 minutes to get the meal at 8:00 in the morning with 1/3 full room. There is nothing fast about this place. Went to this place after a comedy show to get me a midnight snack with my friends, we got seated at 1150. We ordered our food at about 1204. I ordered a veggie omelette with wheat toast. At about 1250, we got 3/4 of what we ordered, I was missing my toast and my friend was missing his over hard eggs and bacon. We waited another 10 minutes for the rest of the food, and no luck. We decided to leave, the management at this restaurant little or no experience on how to run a diner. It seem that they were short in people tonight but an hour for a veggie omelette, eggs and bacon, and a egg n ham n cheese sandwich? That does not justify the time. Asked to speak to the manager, the waiters refused to get him. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was in there a few weeks ago, I wanted to buy an alcohol drink since I'm 21 and was out with friends, I showed my id and then was told by the waitress that they cannot accept my ID because it is vertical she never even really looked at it to see if it was valid or if I was 21, she just saw it was vertical handed it back and said I'm so sorry but we cannot accept vertical Id's and told me that I should go get a horizontal one even though this one doesn't expire for one more year since I got it when I was 17 not 16, I asked for the manager, after some time the manager came and proceeded to tell me that it was against Washington State Law to accept vertical ID's now and again said I should go get a horizontal. I just a two weeks before went in there and was served alcohol, the waitress seemed to not know of this supposed law, After going home that night I tried to find said law and I cant seem to find it, I've also gone out to other places like Olive Garden and some bars and they don't have any issues accepting my ID. There is no such law, the manager is lying to his staff and customers about fake washington state laws. The only thing it says about vertical ID's that I can find is " Be alert when checking a vertical ID. The customer was issued the ID when they were under 21 years of age. Check the unique features listed on the previous page, along with the information listed to the left of the photo to verify the customer is 21 years of age or older" Maybe if they had new managment, BETTER managment, they could fix all their flaws and become a better place for people to go and eat at.
