A real diamond in the rough, this is a worthy meal stop for all you folks who need a quick, quality beer-and-bite near the highway around Union Gap. The menu is fun and full of favorites and oddities. The food itself is generous and well-prepared, excellent quality for the money. The service is friendly, down-to-earth with good humor and attention to detail. This ethic is reflected proudly in the clean, organized historic (this joint has to be 100 years old if it's a day!) store. This seems to be a local favorite, too. My rule: If you go into a town, and notice the locals hanging out and spending their money to get what a place is serving, that's where you go to eat. Don't miss the fried chicken! They batter and pressure-fry here, which makes for a wonderfully crispy skin. The gizzards are perfect for sharing with beer and friends. The burgers are excellent and flavorful too. First off, I had no idea this place existed until a friend invited me for lunch one day. It ends up that this place has been around for more than a hundred years, and while having undergone a facelift or two, it still continues to have the charm of a place that's been around for a long time. For lunch we came for the famous broasted chicken. It came in two and four piece meals with tater tots or fries. It was a lot of fried goodness on the plate and boy was it tasty. I would imagine that broasted chicken is relatively straightforward as the majority of the places I've tasted it have done it well. Here they too did it exceptionally well here. Very nice flavor and not too oily. The beer selection looked pretty standard for a townie type bar and included more variations of Budweiser than one could shake a stick at. Not a lot of real eclectic bruised but they did have some imports and certainly enough to keep most people busy. The place looks like it's been recently updated has most of them behind the bar stuff looked new. The walls were decorated with plenty of signage and the number of. unique pieces. There's a Chucky doll sitting above the door and a toilet seat to the left of the entrance marked "a-hole" of the month. I didn't look to see who had one but I suspect there was a mirror underneath it! Lots of pool tables and the quintessential golf game officially qualify it as a dive bar. Back in the day it was rumored that these guys have the coldest beer in town. I suspect that that's still holds and at least for now they have some of the best broasted chicken in town. read more

Doesn't look like much from the street and didn't initially come up on my yelp search.... Was pleased to find a GREAT older saloon/dive (type) bar! I say dive bar because I like smaller, olde town and not super fancy establishments. The atmosphere seems more low key and friendly... Cold beer and prompt friendly service... Obviously this place has been here for quite a while... They have large open area, 3 nice electronic dart boards, 3 good pool tables, electronic internet jukebox, pull tabs, etc... Looks like the dance floor is setup for life bands (seeing the equipment in the corner), though we stopped on a Sunday afternoon... Haven't tried the food but everyone seems happy and prices seem very fair and even include the sales tax... Will definitely visit again when in town... read more

Stopped in on our way back from Boise because the reviews were amazing & they didn't disappoint! It was a nice little dove bar with good beer options on draft and great service. We had a philly sandwich with fries and a cheeseburger with jojos the jojos were giant! They cut them in house and they are delicious. The pgilly had a balsamic jam that was delicious. Super happy with our choice! Everyone was so nice & the food was great! Will stop again if in this area! read more

Tried this place out at lunch a week ago and found myself waiting for over an hour before the order ticket was dropped for my food order. Once i noticed they just dropped the ticket i went to speak to the cook about the time it was taking to prepare the order. She told me shs just dropped my order and would take an aditional 15 minutes which i was starving abfter an hour of waiting to get my food. I remember coming here last year with my brother on our way to see the eclipse in Oregon. As we walked in, a group of 25 or so Harley enthusiasts were mounting their bikes and loudly pulling away to their next watering hole. Music to my ears. I thought to myself, "this place has character". Heh. Anyway, I sat down and ordered the Broasted Chicken and a shrimp salad. Best meal I've had in recent memory.
