Take out order. These people couldn't get an order right if their life depended on it. Ordered 2 of the diner dipper meals, with 2 sliders in each meal. They were the driest burgers I have ever had. They didn't put any sauce on the sliders - nothing none nada. the patty was old and dried out on all 4 of the sliders. Ok, so I will just dip them in the sauce you get with the meals. For the 2 meals there should have been a total of 6 dips. Nope, not a single one. I tried to call them to complain, but they don't answer their phone. Oh boy, where to start! We have our "usual" Dennys on Bridgeport that we love. But thought we would go here since it is literally 15min from us if that. And I have never regretted it more! Teresa, our server was the rudest most insane server I have ever dealt with- and my partner is still blown away by her behaviors- swearing at a customer yelling at staff and customer- it was absurd. First of all tables were dirty- then hot cocoa water with powder... no I'm not saying it was packet hot cocoa I'm saying it was water with clumps of powder that would not resolve and forms a weird slime.... Steak- well done to the point of being shoe leather and unable to be chewed, when we ordered it medium rare, hash Browns barely cooked- the meal was not edible. My partner chose to complain and talked to Maria- who was so kind and so nice and agreed to comp my inedible meal- she asked our waitress to help because the ticket wouldn't allow edits. At the front counter Teresa walks up yells at my partner "are you f-inkling kidding me, you're gonna be like that?" My partner was polite and the staff offered the refund , but she went off (we had planned to still tip based off what our bill would have been)- but she lost her ever loving mind! Yelled at my partner as she walked to a back register to remove the charge- my partner worked in food service for many years and has never seen anything like it- two other associates apologized profusely explained that they have had problems with her and are so so sorry as she continued to yell and snap at us. Her cursing at a customer, complaining that a customer has no right to complain about bad food or service- it was out of some weird comedy! I never thought I'd ever experience that level of unprofessional trash talking from anyone in the industry!! Three groups waiting to be seated chose to leave. They were so appalled by the yelling one even joked about calling the cops cause "the ol' lady looks like she bout to throw hands" referring to Teresa- we will happily drive the 30-45min to Bridgeport for good food and good service! We came here for late lunch. Overall the service could be better. The waitress in our area took forever with everything, I felt like she was so slow and ignored us a couple of times. So I really like Dennys, but today left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I walked into this establishment and there was no one who greeted me. I looked around and saw a employee who was talking quite loudly about her personal issues with an older gentleman who was sitting at the bar. I stood there for awhile and she just kept talking to him. So I decided if I was going to wait I'd try the toy machine. I loaded a quarter in and it spit out two more. So I played for two times. A much taller couple walked in and she immediately spoke to them. "Good Morning folks, seat anywhere you wish!" I mean being a human we live by the fairness of how we're treated. That's what we go by in terms of treating others back. I felt ignored. I sat at a booth facing the door and most likely had a scowl on my face. I ordered a BYO Slam and orange juice. I'm not sure if the guy who asked me if the lady had gotten a drink started for me was another front employee, but he seemed more concerned that I wasn't helped yet. Thanks to him I felt a little better. I ate, even got up to ask for more orange juice, then stacked my plates, paid, and left. Disappointed in the lady's service today. read more

So I come to this Dennys often especially on the weekends after my 10 hour shift bartending. I came in with 3 other girls that I work with and from the start Not a hello a look or a simple head nod. We got absolutely nothing from him except disrespect. After about 5 min standing there (mind you there was only 3 tables total in it's entirety) we started to seat our self giving him the benefit of the doubt cause he was at a table taking an order and he rudely looked up and demanded that we walk back and we then offered him 60$ to please sit down so we could get off our feet. he laughed in our face as he continued to gossip with the table that he was at. The entire experience was unprofessional and his dismissive attitude was not ok. I'm such a tolerant and patient person and this is the last thing I wanna do. Cause I know this industry is very unforgiving. I just hope he realizes that a simple hello goes a long way with people. read more

Consistent American fare. The thing that sets this Denny's apart for me is the service. My family orders or dines in several times a month and have never had an issue. Recently however I had a to go order that was missing an item and when I mentioned it in passing to the manager that happened to be at the register, Sierra, she was very apologetic, recognized me as a regular as did Aaron, a server, even though we have never talked personally, and went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure I was totally satisfied with my new order. A Terrific and knowledgeable young manager!!! She and Aaron exemplify what I believe every Denny's employees should strive to be, professional, courteous, and above all devoted to their customers satisfaction. Ok. I'll be honest the food is 5 star but service is key. I can't enjoy my food when my service is so terrible. I went in and was greeted by a nice young lady at the front was asked were I wanted to sit. And was promptly given menus and a drink. That's when things went south. We met the server..... Talk about I hate my job attitude or possibly I hate the younger generation I don't know what her problem was. But I wouldn't be writing this if it was just a one time thing I understand people have bad days. Nope it has happened twice now with two servers. A few things here: First, if you don't like diner food, don't go to a diner. Second, expect a wait. This Denny's is always packed. Third: Tip your waitstaff. Seriously. Norma is my favorite waitress, hands down. She always has a kind smile and a raspberry tea ready for me shortly after being seated. She treats my child with respect, and not as if she were just an extension of my order. The manager, Lanardo, always comes and says hi and checks on our table at least once. He runs a clean establishment and has a big heart. All of the waitstaff and cooks are friendly, pleasant, and work hard to put a meal on our table when I'm too tired to cook myself. As far as 24 hour diners go, this place is the best:) Since reopening the owner Steve has really managed to turn this place around from what it use to be a few years ago. He also owns the one in South Hill, so I'm sure he knows what he's doing cause we like going to that one as well! Typical Denny's experience for the most part. Food was fine, service was great, coffee was hot (though the first cup was just a bit stale). Went out for a super late dinner/breakfast at 5am with the girlfriend. When we walk in the door and hear a "good morning!" from the kitchen, and seconds later a nice middle aged woman comes and and asks straight away, "would you like any coffee?" while she seats us. She was a sweet person and took care of us well. Got my coffee refilled 4-5 times, which is better than they usually do, though we did sit and relax for a while. Food was fine; I got the BYO Slam and the girlfriend got the country fried steak. The Slam was typical yummyness, and the steak was good too! The only problem I can think of was that the plate only came with one fried piece of meat, when the menu said there were two, though the piece we did get was of pretty good size. I was expecting alot less considering how far out from civilization it seems, so I was pleasantly surprised! read more
