My husband and I visited Denny's around 9am on a Saturday morning and had a very pleasant experience. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and were seated right away. Fany was our server and was as pleasant as could be. She has a very sunny disposition and made our experience very good. My husband and I both ordered skillets and although he ordered a lunch-type skillet, Fany gave him the option of adding an egg. Our drinks were filled very promptly and we received our food within 10 minutes. Fany was very congenial when I thanked her for the fast service. The food was very good and my husband said he almost couldn't finish his portion. I recommend this location. read more

This place was ok. Our waitress was very good. She was right there taking our drink order and returned right away to take our order. I had the Lumberjack Slam that included two eggs over easy, two pancakes, two sausage links, two slices of bacon, and toast. My eggs came out with crust around the edges, and my wife's toast was burned. We would have had them take these back for new ones cooked right but we were in a hurry. I had a wonderful visit to Denny's in Schiller Park, Illinois late last night. I was greeted and seated promptly. My server Tiffany H. took excellent care of me! I ordered a build your own burger and decaf coffee and a glass of water. I ordered a burger with chicken, American cheese and bacon with fries. I had virtually no wait time yet the food was prepared perfectly. The meal was delicious and Tiffany was always present to tend to my needs and the needs of her other customers. All the while with her friendly smile and demeanor! I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention that in past visits I received the same level of excellent service from Pedro. This is a great restaurant. I live in Chicago but if I'm in the west suburbs late at night, I make it a point to visit the Denny's in Schiller Park! Thank you and keep up the good work! read more

Unprofessional. A complete vibe killer. Restaurant is supposed to be open 24 hours Thursday- Saturday and employee did not open doors until 6am. As im walking into restaurant employee is venting to customer saying "if people dont want to wait they can leave" even though the sign on the door says the restaurant is supposed to be open and i checked online. Im pretty sure the owner would be upset if they knew the employees are basically turning away their customers. I waited at least 35 mins before the doors were unlocked. I stood up to ask the waiter for coffee creamer and was told to go sit back down. ??? My brother asks the waiter if they serve oatmeal and the waiter responded "whatevers on the menu thats what we have" i couldnt help but laugh. A simple no would have been perfect. As far as Denny's go, this one is a good one to go to. Way better than the one on Harlem. They had great new menu items. Pumpkin pancakes for the fall, white chocolate raspberry shakes and pancakes, and a new orange cranberry pancake. I had the white chocolate raspberry pancake meal and I'm so stuffed !! We always stop here on our way back from the airport. The service is meh, the waitress looked like she wanted to be anywhere else but Denny's. Never asked if we needed refills on water and just did a blah kind of job. But I'm excited to take my leftover pancakes home!! read more

Never choose a restaurant based on convenience of location. $30 breakfast for two people and I believe that whoever owns this place must also own a JiffyLube! We did make it home without fouling the car and fortunately we have more than one bathroom. The eggs were good. The hash browns were not greasy, unfortunately they were not cooked either, no brown, no crisp and no heat. The pancakes were thick, heavy, rubbery and impossible to cut. The lady across from us had the same problem. The breakfast sausage was the size of a quarter, kinda spicy, very tough skin and 8" long.... maybe chorizo?!? WTH is up with that? The "Moon over My Hammy" was so greasy it kept sliding apart and I had to wipe my hands after every bite. Why didn't we ask for the manager or leave? We were seated quickly and we also got served quickly. The coffee is good. The waitress named Jamie was very attentive and professional. The menu items can be found at every Denny's around the world. I had the Sriracha Burger which was had with cheddar cheese, bacon, jalapenos and a very spicy sriracha sauce, served with tomato, lettuce, red onions, pickles on a brioche bun. My wife had the Ultimate Skillet which was scrambled eggs cheese, potatoes, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach with a stack of pancakes. I haven't been to Denny's in YEARS; I am glad i came here. Even though it was super PACKED (because of ACEN, which is why we were there too), the service was great and the transitions from us getting in line to us grabbing the check, were seem-less. I think the server that was helping us was Caroline (or something like that...totally forgot), was great. Even though she was under the stress of many hungry people and tables, I felt as if we were the only ones when she was talking to us, an ability few people have. She even taught us some Greek! The food was also great. Im usually hesitant on ordering scrambled eggs or omelette because people tend to burn them a bit to the point of either the egg sort of browning or becoming "rubbery"... but i decided to give it a try here. We've been to other Denny's before, but never one as nice as this. Though I can only comment on our experiences after hours (we've been here several times as part of the late night crowd), but the location has always been clean, waitresses pleasant (we like Lucy!), and the cook has yet to fail to wow us. We really appreciated the attention given to our meals even though we stumbled in at 2am, and you can't beat a hearty pancake breakfast meal for the price here. As a side note - I always appreciate any establishment willing to make no fuss substitutions for their beef/pork products as most in my dining party do not eat them. For the past month, I have been regularly ordering from this place for take-out/pick-up through the online website, which has been 4 times now. The online ordering process is pretty simple and the food has always been ready on time, even during the busy Sunday afternoon hours when several parties are waiting to be seated in the restaurant. Every time I ordered from this place, the food has been accurate, packaged really well, and still tastes pretty good after a 15 minute car ride. The staff have always been friendly as well. I want to pick up but i am really busy at work but anyway ao request for delivery the distance from dennys to my work is less than 1 mile.. just straight shot on the street.. actually its the restaurant and the dumb scammer driver from Doordash his name is JAKE S.. long story short driver can't find my location took a picture of empty lot. So he could get pay and free food ( i use to do doordash so i know that scam) i call doordash explain them i never received my food they told me " sorry to hear that but unfortunately you have to contact the restaurAnt" now back to denny's i called them they put me on hold for 10 mins and told them i have order from this restaurant but i never received my food.. the manager told me call the driver. And then. Extremely terrible service. The waitress messed up the drink orders for our table of eight three times. Once we placed our order, it took an hour to get our food. The waitress never once apologized and just made excuses. By the time it was delivered, the food was cold and the eggs were over cooked. While on the way from the NW side of Elmwood Park to O'Hare, my nephew and I were in search of a place to stop for breakfast. Surprisingly, there are not a lot of places along the way other than stopping in a hotel. I realized that the Denny's was one of the few so that's where we ended up - not a place I'd usually hit for food as I typically find them mediocre at best. But this one was OK. Service was prompt and the place looked fairly clean. We were given our beverages shortly after being seated and the server followed up right after to take our food order. Breakfast was decent too - my nephew's Grand Slam was good with him and my Chicken Fried Steak order was augmented with a dinner sized CFS as they were out of the breakfast size ones. No arguments there! Overall, thumbs up and a place I'll remember should I be in search of breakfast on that route again. read more

Staying at the desolate Motel 6 next door, this lovely and friendly Denny's was a welcome contrast. Good service and food. I ordered the fresh fruit to go with my Fit Slam, and was pleasantly surprised how good the fruit was. Ate the same thing two days in a row and both times good, especially fruit. I keep mentioning the fruit because I'm used to under-ripe, battered and tasteless fruit at coffee shops, but the fruit plate at this Denny's was exceptional. read more

We use to hang out at this place during my senior year of high school when we had no where better to go. I remember the service not being the best but we were teenagers, who cares. Well now I remember why I never ate here once I finished high school. Unfortunately, we pass by it a lot and thanks to the brain washing boob-tube, my 3 year old daughter begged us for three weeks to take her. I got out of it the first time but had to hear the complaints from my husband the next day. This pass Sunday I caved in and went with the family for breakfast. My boss and I were early for a business meeting in Rosemont one morning, so to kill time we came to the nearby Denny's. I was not hungry at all, so I perused the menu for something "light". I ordered something called Pancake Puppies, which are sort of like corn fritters but without the corn, or perhaps like fresh Munchkins. These dough balls came out warm, rolled in cinnamon and accompanied by a dipping cup of maple syrup. I would hardly compare them to fluffy pancakes, since these guys were sort of crispy on the outside. I'm not sure what to make of them, but I ate the whole serving of six sweet and filling pups. Best Denny's ever. I've been to a conference at a hotel near O'Hare airport the last two years and found this Denny's when I was out for a walk to get the morning newspaper. I have gone here for breakfast every morning I am at that hotel since I discovered this gem of a diner. The restaurant is spotless and the staff, led by Caroline and her waitstaff crew, are amazing. It feels like a neighborhood diner, not a chain restaurant. The coffee is always hot and tasty and the meals have always been fresh and look better on the plate than they do in the pictures in the menu. read more

Had a really crummy experience the other night. Yeah I know, you all are gonna say "it's a Denny's I told ya so" but it was late at night and we were starving. Go figure, right? We were seated right away as a friend had saved a table for us and the waitress brought our drinks right away. That's where the fun ended. We ordered food and waited. And waited. And waited and watched as people who came in AFTER us were not only seated and served, but LEFT before we even got our food! To add insult to injury when the food arrived (with no apology from our waitress for the lengthy wait), our friend's food not only was cold, but had grains of rice on it. HE DID NOT ORDER ANY RICE. He was so upset that he wouldn't get anything else to eat after he spoke to the manager. Our food was fine so we ate and as we went to pay, the waitress had the nerve to ask how everything was. I told her the truth, that everything was delicious but it would have been better if we hadn't waited so fricken long. So THENNNN she apologises! Oh I should know better. Went to Golden Apple the next night and had a much better experience. The moral of the story? Stay the hell away from Denny's, especially THIS one! read more
