I went to breakfast this past Monday with my family. The waiter by the bar section seems pretty serious, no smile or conversation. Sorry you had to work on Monday! Well I ordered the T-bone steak and eggs. I ordered it medium rare and it was made well done. I was pretty disappointed since the T-bone steak was thin like flap meat and over cooked. You would think since IHOP in San Dimas closed that Dennys would step up their game to gain more customers. With that said, I would rather drive the extra miles and go to the IHOP in La Verne from here on out. By the way, the red roasted potatoes were also over cooked and dry and they ran out of Fuze Raspberry Iced Tea! Not sure what's going on at this location. I've been showing up to this Denny's as of recent to grab a bite while doing a late night homework sesh with a buddy of mine, so we were always there during the graveyard shift... the food was good, and our waitress Crystal always made sure we had everything we needed for the long night of studying! Food is 'ok' (Typical of Al Denny's), HOWEVER, ALL SIDES are an 'up charge', and are not identified as such on the menu. Plus they seemed very understaffed. I did feel sorry for the waitress, she was polite, but trapped by outdated ideas of 'what Good Customer Service' is. Further, she also acted as hostess & bus person. She said this is the chain policy on up-charges, not hers. We will probably cross Denny's off of our list for future visits. This was NOT a pleasant experience! Absolutely Horrible Hosting. Insane! Horrible attitude from the moment we entered - actually giving us very obvious dirty looks and making grotesque comments. Had the audacity to argue over something as simple as a menu item when we were literally pointing at how the item should have been made - continued to argue and then was making comments to the kitchen staff very loudly so everyone could hear. I always go to Denny's at 820 S. Indian Hill Blvd., Claremont, CA for breakfast or just to get the senior grilled cheese and fries meal. It used to be on the senior meal, but it is no longer there. I was ordering in the app and something glitched sending my order here, I believe because I previously ordered at this one, but I travel for my work and now I'm down in San Diego. I called them and explained the situation. Not only were they rude, they continuously gave me the run around. I asked to speak to a manger and he was 3 TIMES ruder than the regular employees. I spent $30 PLUS a generous tip and I couldn't even be properly respected and treated with dignity. BEST Dennys experience!!! I showed up at around 10PM on 8/28/25 and my party was the only table occupied. Less than 5 minutes after sitting down, one group after the other starts showing up until what seemed to be half the restaurant was full. Mind you, the only person working was Ms. Gail and the kitchen staff. My utmost respect to them. They had the efficiency and service of a full Sunday morning crew. The food was exactly as we had asked for it. Not once did I have to ask for a refill, I didn't see plates piling up waiting to be served, we were checked up on regularly and she kept a smile on at all times while being in a situation most people would have cracked. This has to be the best meal I've ever had. The chef was just amazingly so sweet to me and I got the original grand slam. The pancakes were cooked perfectly buttery and crispy. Me and my girlfriend come here almost very often. We sometimes go each day of the week. The place is clean, food is made good. And over all it's very easy going. I love the 2 lady employees there because they're the nicest workers and excellent at customer service. My only problem with the place and service is the Elder Woman that's works there some days. She is very rude and makes backhanding looks. The way that it seems, she doesn't like young folks very much to my guess., she deliberately makes us wait long to order, charged us extra one time and I've noticed it, and once I brought it up she tried switching her character. The other day we had went in to order to go, and she had us waiting while she got to every other customer (who were mostly elders as well) and even got to the ones that were there after us. We noticed it and decided to just leave and eat else where.. she has acknowledged the things she's done but still occasionally continues. This place is good but it could be better without her in my opinion. I see that she acts like that with other younger folks so it must be a personal thing. Worst Dennys restaurant hands down. My Granddaughter took me to breakfast, wasn't full or really busy. Food took forever and when it did come, the hash browns were raw, when the manager did his rounds when we where almost done, I let him know, all he wanted to do was make me a new one, at that point we were already done, and didn't want to wait any longer the we already had to. I want to start off by saying I am the black woman that was seated at table #47 with the black hair and grey sweater with tan shorts and boots on. My waitress gave bad service he gave me my food n quickly ran off without asking if I wanted anything else also I did not like my strawberry stuffed french toast. I made sure to tell her that n ask for something else and she quickly responded by saying "well what do you want " with out giving me the menu again to try to figure it out. The manager and staff were incredibly rude and discriminated against me because of my service dog. When the manager asked for certification, I explained my dog's training and the ADA law, which doesn't require certification. He rudely dismissed my explanation and denied us service. Honestly, I'm glad we didn't eat here, especially after seeing the bad reviews. There are so many amazing places nearby with great food and kind, respectful people. horrible service me and my partner came here one night about 1 AM ready to eat as we get seated , The old lady already has an attitude. My partner has hard of hearing and can't hear from his right ear, so I was talking into his left ear when the old lady came back to take our order she told us not to be kissing and that it's a public area and there's kids that come around. all because he had his head turned so he could hear me. I think that was very disrespectful for her to make that assumption and be so rude about it even when I was trying to explain to her, she kept insisting that there's kids that come around.
