I have been to the Rexburg Denny's on four different days and times, & I have not once had the experience that others have had. It makes me wonder if the other customers went to the same Denny's I did or if they're all being hyperbolic or bombastic or expecting way too much for a diner or a Denny's (makes me also wonder why people who dislike Denny's are going there then reviewing they hated their visit *rolling my eyes here*). My first visit was a few days after it opened at 6:00 PM (dinnertime). It was crowded and there was a long wait, but both of those things were expected: almost every new restaurant has this happen: we don't get a lot of variety in restaurants (not like Idaho Falls), so everyone wants to go when it first opens. I was with a group of 11 people. We were served as quickly as one can be when it's that busy. The food was hot and tasted great. The staff was frazzled and made mistakes, but again, that's expected. My next visit was about a month or two later at 8:30 PM. I'd had a long day and didn't feel like eating the warmed-over meal at home, so I told my family I was going out. Since I was a single guest, I was invited to sit at the counter. I love the idea of the electric plugs at each of the seats: online homework late at night while eating pancakes = genius! There was the typical wait time (about 15 minutes--I had a nice time people-watching in the meantime). I ordered the brisket sandwich and asked for a side salad since it was advertised as 2.99 with an entree. The salad was crisp and the ranch dressing was tasty. The brisket sandwich was a little lopsided so I had to eat it in pieces, but it was delish! I was overcharged for the salad, but the manager just took it off the ticket. Nice. My third visit was at the end of July 2023. It was during their Baconalia event. I was in the mood for pancakes for dinner (this time at 5 PM--I was expecting a rush but they handled me and all the other customers beautifully), so I was pleasantly surprised to find out I could have "Bacon Pancakes" just like Jake from Adventure Time. The addition of bacon bits and two slices of Hormel bacon in the pancakes gave it a smokey taste that is easily complemented by the maple syrup and skips a step for me (I often take a bite of bacon and then immediately follow it with a pancake). My food arrived quickly, hot, and tasted good. My fourth visit was on 08/14/23 at 8:30 AM (breakfast). During this visit, I was taking my 2 nieces and my nephew to breakfast before I took them home after a visit with grandma before school. Other reviewers must be using stopwatches or no watches at all because they all seem to say they waited an hour to be seated. We were seated faster than I've ever been seated in a Denny's (including my two previous visits). When the server arrived, I requested that she take the order from each of us since my nieces and nephew needed to practice ordering for themselves (they are tweens and a teen, so they needed this experience sooner rather than later). We had come during Denny's Baconaila event, so each of us ordered from the special menu. I ordered the Premium Bacon Loaded Pancakes like I did last time, my tween niece and nephew ordered the Triple Bacon Sampler, and my teenage niece ordered the Sweet and Smoky BLT&E (a BLT that comes topped with eggs, bacon jam, and the Hormel Black Label Premium Cherrywood Bacon). While we waited, we watched as 5 other parties arrived and were almost immediately seated (again, I'm confused why other reviewers are saying they're waiting an hour...I've never had nor seen that happen). The only person not seated turned out to be waiting to pick up his meal. The pancakes arrived in about 15 minutes as a sort of appetizer/first course and the rest of the food arrived before we could even get two bites done. We enjoyed our meal and conversation. My teenage niece tried a bite of my pancake and immediately wanted to order a stack for herself ("So yummy!"), but I knew she'd get too full. Luckily, my tween niece offered to share half of her pancakes instead. Whoever put together the hamburger forgot the bacon jam, but I decided to use this as an opportunity for my niece to learn how to politely and properly tell the server (she was nervous and didn't want to bother her, but I stressed to her that servers/restaurants want to correct any errors they make because they want their guests to have the best possible experience). I worried that this special menu would go the way of the spicy Moons over My Hammy (loved it btw), so I ordered a What's Shakin' Bacon Milk Shake which we all split. This wasn't as mind-blowing as I thought it would be (it was exactly what it says it is: vanilla ice cream, bacon crumbs, and maple syrup), but it was still tasty. We left at 9:30 AM (they were slow-eaters), full, happy, and singing the "Bacon Pancakes" song once we got in the car. It was a fun, before-school-starts experience, and they want to do it again. read more

I always want to give Denny's the benefit of the doubt cause it's Denny's. I don't know if it was casual Thursday or something, but all the staff looked like they didn't work there. I ordered a salad and I know what you're thinking, who orders a salad at Denny's. But most of the lettuce was brown and my cucumbers soggy. This location really needs help!! The dining area was dirty -- tables left uncleared, straw wrappers, napkins, and food on the floor. It gave a very poor first impression. One employee was handling both the cashier and hostess roles, which created a long line just to be seated. After finally sitting down, it took about 15 minutes before anyone even came to our table. And then once we ordered, it was over 30 minutes to get our food. I understand it was a busy Saturday morning, but that's exactly when staffing and cleanliness should be a top priority. Hopefully, management addresses these issues and improves the overall guest experience. read more

We are up here every summer and we were so happy that Dennis had was opening in Rexburg. We were there many times in the beginning, waiting for a table for over an hour . I'm not the kind to leave negative reviews but this one had to done. Me and my friends came in tonight and were very neglected by our waiter, to the point we'd have to waive him over and try and get his attention. Finally when we got our food a cookie skillet was ordered and the cookie was as hard as a rock and we couldn't even cut into it. The I only ordered 3 eggs. I was charged $12 for THREE eggs and he told me he charged me for the grand slam but didn't give me any of the grand slam. Just three eggs. This is the first Denny's I've ever been too and I am honestly extremely disappointed on how average the breakfast food is there. Firstly, when I first arrived all of the staff were new and it took a while for them to finally finish my order. Not the biggest of deal but it added to my disappointment when I got the most bland breakfast food I have ever received from a restaurant. Two small pancakes, depressing over cooked bacon and watered down coffee. I wouldn't have minded it if the food wasn't the price they have. I'm also dehydrated due to nobody refilling waters. all after wsiting to be seated for an hour at a nearly empty restaurant...... Also don't fall for the balloon guys empty promises.... He'll never bring you more pancakes. Neither will anyone else. We arrived around 10 PM and left around 10:45pm. We only were shown to our seats. I made eye contact with several of the servers but none seemed to care enough to take our order or even ask what we want to drink. The only time we talked to a server was when they showed us to our table. The service was trash. Harold Butler and Richard Jezak would roll in their graves and weep if they saw the awful state of this establishment. It's the worst place in Rexburg if not the worst Dennys in AMERICA!!! You should ignore any one-star reviews from March until May 2023. Every restaurant goes through growing pains in the first couple of months, even national chains like Denny's. I know because I've worked at my share of newly opened restaurants, and they all have issues and should be given a break for the first few months. Part of me wonders if those who are leaving one star reviews are coming during peak times and expect it to be fast. That is a tall order for any restaurant in Rexburg during peak dinner times. I have been to Denny's three times now this year. The first time was when it first opened ( yes, the wait time was long, but it's a new restaurant, and everyone in town was trying it out. We got in faster than I expected us to). The second time was in May and the third near the end of July. My food arrived quickly and hot. The staff is kind and friendly. There were a few hiccups with prices and the brand-new equipment of digital order-taking devices, but the management always comped or adjusted the prices so that they were accurate to the menu. The pancakes have always been perfectly cooked with no undercooked or raw batter. The hash browns are crispy on the outside and moist on the inside like they should be, and the eggs have always been prepared exactly the way I ask for them. The chefs are amazing and masters of their craft. I have tried other menu items, and they've all been delicious. For this visit, my server, Corey was especially friendly and nice and our food came out fast. In fact, we hadn't even finished our appetizers and they brought out our food. Denny's is one of my three favorite restaurants in town I will always say "yes" when someone suggests it as an option. Again, you can ignore those one-star reviews because Denny's is paying attention to them: almost every complaint in the one-star review I did not experience so they must have been fixed. If you have had a bad experience, give Rexburg Denny's another chance because I think they've moved out of their growing pains and are improving. The Denny's in rexburg is terrible. One thing that happened was that we were not given silverware to eat with when our food arrived. We had to ask multiple times to get it that by they time we got it, we had been waiting with our food for 10 minutes before we could eat. We also asked multiple times for refills for our drinks from the waiters, and they never brought it until I went up and asked. I would also not recommend getting their steaks, fried steaks, nachos or mashed potatoes. Some people I was there with got them and it looked awful, they couldn't even get past a bite with the mashed potatoes, and the nachos just looked and tasted terrible. The pancakes were good though. I like Denny's, but I'm not, nor the people I went with will never come back to the rexburg Denny's. read more

I went there last week with my middle Brother who had drove 4 hours out of a week of conference meetings down in UT to spend 1 day with me. & checking out my new upcoming move to an location. We ended the day together going to Denny's. It took forever to get seated & our menu orders taken. It took extremely extra long to get our orders. I was hoping being my 2nd time to this particular Denny's. They would have worked out all or at least some of the new restaurants hick ups by now. We waited for over 40 minutes to get our breakfast. When the server finally brought it out, everything was cold. The gravy was solidified, it had been sitting for so long. There was hair in the eggs and I didn't receive the toast until we were leaving. Then to top it of, we were charged the full amount ($65 for 4 meals) when we weren't even able to eat most of it. I noticed that people that came in 10 minutes after we had sat down ended up getting their food before we did, which we ended up having to wait another 10 minutes before we got our food. Overall our wait was around 2 hours and our food was cold, undercooked or overcooked. The experience here was more than disappointing. It was more than an hour before we were even approached for drink orders after being sat. Even worse, we were SKIPPED over and another table that had sat way after we did, was taken care of. We were there a total of two hours. Because of lack of organization and service here. We had to wait again after our food was brought out to finally receive silverware. The kids pancakes were plain rather than the frosting that CLEARLY shows on the kids menu... the waitress replied, "That's only for the adult version". No butter or jam brought for my toasted item until having to request that as well. Then a black hair in my food. Asked for a redo. The waitress dropped my new food off(the entire rest of the table had finished their meals) and then was too coward to bring the receipt to our table and had someone else do it. Was actually the worst dining experience of my life. They were fully staffed when we went. We had to wait an hour and a half just to get a seat which was okay. The worst part is that we then had to wait another 40 minutes just to order our food. The waitress was super nice, but they were literally out of every food. Then, when I got my French toast later, it was stale like they had sat out for a while. It wasn't even warm. Obviously they just opened up not too long ago; however, the general manager should have ordered more food on the truck to accommodate the business. Also, the biscuit and gravy I ordered. You need a hammer and chisel to crack that thing open. Bent my fork trying. I think they only have maybe 5 biscuits from when they opened and they just keep washing them off and reusing them. I do not like Denny's, I never really have but this one was brand new so we were excited to try it out. Luckily we called ahead so we would get a spot to sit faster but the staff wasn't very nice, they were so unorganized running around everywhere, we heard them messing up a simple order of the people's sitting behind us, they gave me bananas on my pancakes which I told them in the beginning I am very allergic to, they were out of sausage and the food tasted bad like it had been sitting out for a long time. A few weeks later we decided to give it another try as when we went it was also Mother's Day too and so it was crazy packed and so we got it to go, it was still just as bad. And the dessert we got was supposed to be a warm cookie and ice cream and when we were going to eat it the cookie was as hard as a brick!! You couldn't even eat it! We just had to eat the ice cream, very disappointing as we were really looking forward to trying that dessert read more

Where to start? Showed up and waiting 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. Another 15 to be seated, but that's fine as they were somewhat busy. Eventually we were seated. 10 minutes to have our order taken. Daughter ordered chocolate chip banana pancakes without the bananas and eggs over medium. I ordered Eggs Benedict and a side of biscuits and gravy. From our table I could see finished food being queued up from the kitchen. Watched as our order was placed at the window and ignored. It sat there for at least 10 minutes but our server walked past it numerous times without so much as glancing at any of the orders just sitting there. Finally our server wandered closed enough we could inquire about our food. He said he'd go check. Food arrived with bananas on my daughters pancakes and her eggs were so underdone the whites inside were still liquid. My main meal was...passable, but the biscuits were so hard as to be completely inedible. Couldn't break apart at all. When our server asked how our food was I informed him of the biscuits. He told me their biscuits were hard and not very good. Didn't remove it from the bill Finally, as we paid to leave the cashier asked how our food was. I said, "eh, not very good" to which she said, "well, sorry about that. The total is..." Will not be returning. read more
