The service is beyond slow. The servers look like they are moving through quicksand. The food was equal to Denny's. It was cheap and nasty. For example the ham they use for breakfast is chopped up lunch meat. They advertise "strawberries and French toast". It came with one VERY small strawberry. Ordered online for pick up. The pick up time came and went we were continually assured our ordered was on the way. After over 2 hours we finally asked for our order to be cancelled, all of a sudden they found our order. It had been sitting in the back. Tried to give us a cold chicken fried steak with no sides and soggy sandwiches with floppy fries. They were very apologetic didn't charge us and gave us some cake as a concession. Our server was Annie and she said it was her 3rd day. She was super friendly and had a nice smile, was comfortable with the menu and taking our orders. You could tell they were understaffed but I think that is everywhere now so definitely no judgement there. Ordered the country fried steak and eggs, which is always my favorite meal anywhere. Coming from California, I still wore my mask for my protection and others. Cute decor and cozy little restaurant. The staff were very nice. We had a party of nine so we were seated in a private room. The wait wasn't very long and food came right away. Food: food was ok nothing to really write about: the food was not represented well, presentation very boring but I did love my hot chocolate. There's plenty to choose from on the menu but nothing really caught my eye. I ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo, had enough sauce, the pasta cooked right but it tasted bland not very flavorful. My niece ordered chicken strips and mom ordered Fish n Chips they both looked over fried, in other words burnt! My friend ordered the Salmon, I had a small piece of it and it was seasoned very well and tasted good. Oh have I got a review planned! We got there around 9:30. The entire time we were rushed by our waitress. I can understand getting close to closing but if you're still open, I want to be able to eat without feeling like a nuisance. The restaurant felt dirty. Walking in I smelled something unpleasant. Walking to our seat I could see food on the ground. Sitting down our waitress told us to have everything ready when she got back with our drinks. We picked a few things. The Poutine, fried pickles, I chose a salad & my husband a burger. The food came out fast. The poutine had addition cheese curds and chicken fingers so that's a plus, but they really skimmed on the gravy. In my opinion it was salty but the fries itself were delicious! The fried pickles where a little floppy but also good in their jalapeño ranch. The burger and salad came out. The Burger, according to my husband was perfect! It did look good. My salad was very unimpressive. The chicken was coated in something and the lettuce soggy. I took a bite and had to spit out this soggy, yellow thing. I took 3 minuscule bites and decided I wouldn't eat the rest. I ended up finding a bathroom because I was sick to my stomach. My overall observations; 1. Appetizers were yummy - Anything fried was Yummy. Maybe because it killed of whatever made my sick 5/10 2. Restaurant felt dirty & waitress rude. 3/10 3. What a cool, small town place this is. A perfect college hangout with reasonably priced options for poor students and a fun atmosphere. Checked into our hotel and the front desk said he highly recommends Red Rabbit. Got to our room and called them up. 30 minutes of calling with no answer. Decided to drive there. One couple walked in just before us and we were the only customers. I ask the hostess why they are not answering their phones. She realized the ringer was off and had 22 missed calls. There were two employees working and both were very young. The hostess needed help with the computer for everything we were ordering. Finally got the order in and waited 20ish minutes for the food. I ordered a steak salad, my wife got a croissant sandwich, and my son got a burger. All I can say is they need a chef, not a line cook. The steak was so dry. It was almost as if it was prepackaged and thrown on the grill. No flavor. My sons burger was ordered med rare and was well done. Wife croissant was dry, but probably the best of the meals. The staff was very friendly and I had a good conversation with them. Unfortunately they just can't operate functionally with the staff they have.
