Our waitress Deeandra was very knowledgeable about the menu, kind, quick and great to have. The food was tasty but small portions. The reason I wanted to write this review in the first place was the bathrooms. Very dirty (toiler paper all over the place, trashcans spilling over. No toilet paper in any stalls, had to use paper towels thankfully my kids were able to bring to me while I was in the stall. One out of order stall and sink. read more

Our server was great but all the trashcans in the parking lot and restroom were overflowing. We sat next to a window with a view of garbage piled on top of the can. A huge crow devoured trash outside the window while we ate. The toilet in one of the stalls was out of order; the smell was horrendous. We have eaten here several times and have never experienced such a disgusting environment. This location needs better management. The food was good and the waitress was kind. Just had supper in Raton, NM Dennys. Our server Michelle went above and beyond. Sunday night on a holiday weekend and she checked on us maybe 5-6 times. Asked for creamers and got a huge bowl, not just 2-3. Refills fast and almost invisible. Had picky orders and everything was correct. Other staff was also super courteous. A++ read more

My best Denny's experience ever! Road trips sometimes require late night dinner stops. My family of 9 got in around 10pm, and were famished. We were seated within a few minutes of arriving. We ordered a create your own omelette, with some wheat pancakes, chicken fingers with fries, veggie skillet, kids meals and a Philly cheese steak sandwich with fries. Christopher was our star server who was attentive & friendly. What impressed me about this particular Denny's is how you could tell how well the staff got along with each other. This special community of a healthy work atmosphere spills over to the customers. Happy workers=Happy customers. Keep up the great work and great food read more

The most racist restaurant ever, my 89 year old parents my aunt and their children who help care for them were left sitting waiting to be served while the hostess, sat two OTHER families, and proceeded to take their order leaving my parents for over 25 minutes, waiting to be shown to the table..or rather until they left... Another Dennys pretty much like every other location on the outside. I was greeted as I entered and promptly seated. My waitress was good, she checked back a couple of times to see if I needed anything. The place was loud enough but then there was one waitress who was way over the top on her volume. She laughed almost non stop ot talked so everyone in the place could hear her. I ordered 2 eggs over easy, 2 pancakes, 2 strips of bacon and hashbrowns. Everything was cooked correctly except the eggs were runny and I left them untouched. The service was good, the prices fair but the place was noisy and the eggs disgusted me. read more

Denny's is "America's Diner" and this location is located in Clayton, NM. A few blocks away from Hwy 85, it serves as a busy pit stop for folks travelling along this road. My Overall Rating - 2 Stars (Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - This Denny's is like most, you'll have a large number of booths and tables throughout. However, be weary of the bathroom. On this visit, the men's room seemed like it had not been cleaned in a while. Given this is a popular stop for road travelers, I would hope they would maintain it a bit better. No Star. Service - The staff was friendly, but woefully understaffed. On a Friday morning the restaurant was probably at 80-90% capacity but there were maybe 3 servers. The end result? It took a while to place and get our orders, simple requests like coffee refills were not so simple. I don't blame the staff because they do the best they can. And except for the challenges around timing they were great. 1/2 Star. Food - It's diner food, so don't expect 5 star quality. The kids liked their chocolate chip pancakes, so no complaints there. Fruit was fresh. But the omelet was very uneven. The eggs had a foam texture (instead a fluffy), and the ingredients of my Veggie Omelet were all over the place. One bit would be nothing but cheese, another nothing but zucchini, etc. The last item of note is that Denny's is not cheap. Yes, you can find good deals on their Value Menu but most breakfast items ranged started at $9 and went up. 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - Probably. Even though the food is average at best and not a great value, I wouldn't mind coming back if I wasn't rushed or wanted something beyond your typical McDonald's menu (they're next door). 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. Came here with my family as we were just passing through trying to get a QUICK bite before heading back to Denver. (There were 5 of us) We ordered nothing that was difficult to make and it took about 45 minutes or MORE to get our food. (Not only that, but our waitress told us that she was out of French fries so that pissed me off because she didn't tell us until after we waited 20 minutes to order..) In that time, our waitress had spilled my water and kept forgetting to come clean the table! We finally had to use the paper menus to cover up the water. (They never brought us napkins!) My dad had asked for sweetener packets for his tea and had to ask again 2 more times before it was brought to the table. When we FINALLY got our food, French fries came with my mother's meal.. "but wait I thought you were out of fries?" And my dad's order was wrong too! HERE's THE CRAPPY ICING ON THE SHIT CAKE: my sandwich bread HAD MOLD IN IT!!! Which naturally I didn't notice until I was almost finished with it... I complained and the waitress was gonna try and say that it was NOT mold... I took a PICTURE! Went here at 12am and there was 4 employees in the restaurant talking, I walk up to the door and it says closed until 7am???? I came back at 9am got sat right away then waited 25 MINUTES before I see the waitress take the people's order that came in after us???? Obviously left after that. What are y'all doing?? Frankly, ownership and management should be embarrassed here because responsibility starts at the top. Yesterday I couldn't be seated because kitchen was "already 20 minutes behind". There were 5 tables seated at time. Today, 3 tables & 6 covers resulted in 40 minute wait for food to come. 3 servers and 1 manager could bus 2 tables in 60 minute visit. Dish washer mopped restrooms then left mop and sat directly with customers at table. Friends or not-yuck. Mgr (2nd to GM) sneezed in hand and went directly back to kitchen to help out. I had a view of it all. Almost as bad as her chatting/laughing with staff instead of helping serve/bus. Bussed tables "cleaned" with dirty rag and water. I suspect the obvious lack of motivation, poor hygiene, and bad facility conditions will mean they'll close soon- or should. read more

Ate breakfast here. I got the 55+ Omelette meal and my husband got the 55+ scrambled eggs with chees meal. Both were very good. Lavonne was our waitress and she was on top of taking care of us. Only down side was my seat had a hole where it had been taped but the tape tore off. And for some reason there were several flies that bothered us. But people were very friendly. Will be contacting the corporate office as well as district manager for this location. They are the most unprofessional dennys I have ever seen. We ordered curbside pickup and I CANT make this up. The guy opened the door yelled out to the car saying we need to come in to pay for CURBSIDE PICKUP. Upon speaking to the manager JOHN he stated "that's how they do it in big city's". No worries I have the entire phone conversation recorded and action WILL be taken! *update...Corporate csr said it doesn't matter how big, tall, small, or wide the city is... curbside pickup is the same at EVERY Dennys's.
