I don't understand the hate toward Denny's. I have been going since 2017, and it has always hit the right spot. The food comes out very fast. The vibe is very different in a good way. I have been living here for 20 years in the Burlington area and this dennys has always been the worst of the worst when it comes to customer service. The wait is too long to even get seated and there is only 2 workers working during peak visitor hours. I wouldn't recommend this place even to my worst enemy. Absolutely 5/9/26 mom took me out to early breakfast and we got nachos , for my meal I got the Santa fleece skillet, my mom got some slam with pancakes and toes and absolutely really really good food. Yes the wait took a while but eh I don't care as long the food come out cook and hot and the waitress is kind I have no problem of waiting. So overall I think this Denny is great the staff seem awesome and the price of the food at Denny is amazing. read more

8-6-25 My friend and I saw the sign for Dennys from the freeway. It has been years since I ate there, and always had great memories! He wanted tacos, but I convinced him to have Dennys Diner. We walked in and waited. It took a while to be greeted and sit down. There were only about 5 people in the restaurant eating (a family) so we figuered service would be quick. We were finally seated and presented with a menu. The pictures and descr sounded awesome. I ordered the Cali Club Sandwich and my friend ordered the Triple Juicy Burger. We upsized our order by paying an extra dollar each for the onion rings which were described as tasty. WHAT A MISTAKE it was to go to this restaurant! It took AT LEAST 48 minutes to get our food! I know this because my friend looked at his watch when we sat down. There appeared to be 1 cook in the kitchen, an older blonde haired woman. Later an older fellow joined her. One would think together they could have got the order together quickly. Not the case. We were presented with our "food" if you could call it that. What a pile of slop! The Cali Club Sandwich was horrible, ($15.49) The bread tasted old and fell apart when I picked it up. The turkey folded inside also tasted old and a bit slimey. The ham and avocado within were almost non existent and whatever the spread was that was put on the bread was disgusting. My friends "Triple Juicy Burger" at $17.79 was a joke! It should have been called The GREASY burger. It was gross. If Jabba the Hut could have been transformed into a burger, this was it. Gross, greasy and unappetizing. The upgraded onion rings were literally burned to a crisp! The waitress saw my face when she presented them to me and immediately said she would take them back. Why didn't she leave them when she first picked them up for our table? A blind man could smell the char on them. She took them back and about 15 minutes later brought back onion rings that were in the completely opposite direction! They were under cooked and saturated in grease! Absolutely disgusting! We were hungry from a long journey and tried to eat a bit of this food fiasco, but stopped. It is a horrible feeling to feel gyped of your money and to still be hungry after leaving a restaurant. And the coffee which tasted watered down was $4.00 a cup! Before leaving, we voiced our concern and complaints to the waitress. She was very apologetic and said she agreed with us. That she was a new hire and was already looking for a job somewhere else. MY suggestion is to NOT go to this restaurant! The food was horrific! I don't mind paying up for a great meal, but this sure wasnt it! I wouldn't give this "food" to a starving dog! Do yourself a favor. Drive BY this Dennys Diner for any of the fast food joints near by. This place is a disgusting joke! read more

Very upset to the point I'll probably call and talk to a manager today, I got off a 9mile 5hr hike hungry and craving dennys for the first time in a long time.... I prefer choconana pancakes with hasbrowns, sausage and bacon and a cheese cake for after, it was about 8 at night I tried to do curb delivery it said not available for the evening I said w.e I really want this so I'll walk in and get it despite being tired and it hurting to walk, I go in as the food said it would be ready at this time at the latest.....I walk in and the waitress who are chatting amongst themselves and some clients eating they look over at me as I enter, I go stand at the front counter waiting for someone to come help as I don't order here often so idk what it looks like I'm waiting at the front for someone to come help when I know 3 waitresses watched me walk in, after waiting a few mins and no one coming even though they saw me walk in I figured I'd ding the bell because I can physically see them just chatting and my food sitting on the counter getting cold. So I ding the front desk bell....and wait.....still absolutely nothing no one came so then I walked over practically standing in the kitchen staring waiting for someone to help because I'm not gunna yell and be like hey wtf I need help I'm staring SO HARD for SO LONG other customers are noticing and looking at me funny....when in reality I'm waiting for my order to be given to me I can't walk in the kitchen and just grab it I don't want to get in trouble, finally one of the waitresses sees her client look at me and comes over and I said pick up for and my name, then she said oh this is it here and points to it on the counter IN THE KITCHEN behind the counter that separate Les employee and customer so I said DO I just grab it?? Because she still didn't hand it to me she said yes and so I grabbed it and left super upset at the customer service, little did I know it always about to be so much worse, my choconana pancakes had no banana and my sausage was cold and hard my hashbrowns where almost raw and cold and they put ketchup packets and a round thing of ketchup in there but no syrup like I didn't need that much ketchup but I did need syrup and my bananas in order and no silverware. I spent 33 dollars on this meal and was SO disappointed in the establishment as a whole I'll be telling everyone to not go to that one it's absolutely terrible. read more

This place is a disaster. They only had 2 waitresses and 2 cooks on duty for a whole restaurant. We asked for egg white loaded veggie omelet. It took the waitress over 15 minutes to come back and tell us we couldn't have egg white omelet because the egg whites were frozen. It took another 35-45 minutes to get our omelet that was done incorrectly. We asked for a "loaded" veggie omelet to be served an "ultimate veggie omelet", with bits of sausage in it. She also brought us hash browns instead of fruit. Could she not see there were hash browns on our plates instead of the fruit before serving it. Needless to say we had to wait another 10 minutes while they redid our order. Also what was served as toast was only warmed up bread. It wasn't properly toasted. Obviously management is not doing their job properly if they can't hire people to do their job correctly the first time. I'm surprised this place is still open with service like this. read more

On the Denny's rating scale - this one was a 5 star! We only ever get grilled cheeses, hash browns and the occasional Impossible burger. On this occasion we got all 3 and the results were most excellent. Sadly Dennys is usually inconsistent between locations but this one was Top shelf! Great quality, hot and well cooked. This time it came without the 3 scrambled eggs w/cheese and bacon instead of the sausages that I required. I called the store 4 times. 3 times it rang until I was disconnected. Sadly Denny's isn't what it was before the pandemic. In some ways they've improved in others they've diminished. First off, this Denny's made me feel welcome and I found the service prompt. Unfortunately, Denny's has opted to stop carrying sour dough bread. I don't know if this is some nationwide thing, but in the PNW, sour dough bread is very popular. I was really looking forward to a grilled cheese on sour dough but instead got the chicken fried steak which was much better than I thought it would be. Also ordered a shake, and where before they would bring you the mixing cup with almost as much shake for a full refill, they have stopped this practice. read more

Went Back to Denny's this morning for Breakfast. Must say, everything was wonderful. Our server I think her name was Morgan, was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the Manager I believe his name was Rico impressed me for not only coming and introducing himself, but I overheard him say, he loves to be on the floor and be seen, not in the office. I am impressed with the turnaround since the last time we were there. And the ambiance was busy but quiet. One last thing the cooks were cranking out some good looking and tasting food. Have made several stops at Denney's Mount Vernon, WA restaurant for the past 6 months and have noticed an abnormal change in servers and cooks. Within the last couple months the quality of service has been ok to good, however, the food is not prepared (cooked) to normal standards. Sunny-side-up white egg yoke is burn't throughout and cannot be spread over hash-browns, the pancake dough is not adequately cooked, always out of soop at various times day/nitht, etc. Tonight, I asked the waitress for sunny-side-up eggs (4-each) to add a note to the cook to make sure he doesn't burn the yoke because I like to spread the eggs over my hash-browns. After she delivered the Order, the yoke looks like brown crispy deep-fry. After she returned with the new eggs dish...sure enought, same looking burnt eggs and under-cooked pancakes . I didn't eat that stuff, but still paid over $17.00 for the meal. You know, I've had enought of Denney's and their change-over with employees that seem to out-number the customers. I rated Mount Vernon WA Denny's five star not because it's the finest Michelin quality restaurant but because it's finest quality family restaurant. national chain yes but this one is more like local caring restaurant. I think that's because of the wait staff, Randi and Sheila and others I cannot recall their names. Randi usually serves my friend and I our breakfast couple a times per month. We're retired and enjoy the atmosphere at Mt Vernon Denny's and especially the camaraderie we have with chit chat with and among the employees. Randi is excellent at her job, always 2atching to see if our coffee cups need tipping off. Big breakfast very reasonable prices and very often a special discount or perhaps just the normal 15% discount for us old farts. I love being taken care of as if I were having breakfast at home, thanks Randi. the foods good too. read more

This restaurant is very, very slow. I ordered online and when I arrived, I still had to wait for 26 minutes !! The young waitress is nice and friendly but not the two old waitress especially the one who smokes. She doesn't know how to smile and not friendly at all. I will not go back to this place. read more

We stopped for breakfast with 4 of us, My Mom ordered all day value meal , came with One biscuit and gravy, Two eggs and her choice of bacon or sausage. The biscuit was hard, the whites of the eggs weren't cooked completely And she ordered 2 bacon medium and she got one bacon and one sausage and a water with Lemon but they had no lemons. I had the same thing except with French toast and over easy eggs and crispy bacon. My order was correct but mine was cold. My granddaughter ordered the super slam eggs were undercooked she never got her pancakes, They had 1 cook working, and only 2 waitpersons. We also overheard other patrons complaining about their orders also some was over cooked and took a while to receive the rest of their orders. Won't stop again. Absolutely disgusting! Was waiting for our food and watched a Cockroach climb up the wall next to my booth and a couple in the bathroom. The service is slow because they only have a skeleton crew and they are slow at everything. I am never coming back here again. We were catching a very early ferry in Anacortes so stopped in for breakfast at 2:30 a.m. Even though the door was unlocked, we were told the restaurant was closed for 40 minutes. My family and I walked in, a party of 8, around 10 PM. This woman, maybe in her 50's looked at us, rolled her eyes, and sighed "oh no". The man was nice and said "it'll be a minute" but she butted in and sourly said "You're the third big group to come in within ten minutes.. so it'd GOING to be a minute". All though the place needs a real good cleaning the floor in the dining area was very unkept as well as the bathroom. Well call me hard headed, but I went back to Dennys with my wife. It was interesting, the place was clean and crowded at the same time, the servers were pretty much on their game, I was feeling good, there was hope..... SOOOOOO I ordered a Supreme Skillet thing..... These are absolutely great and are my favorite thing when they get them right..... I had been back a couple times since the last skillet debacle and so far they had been doing good, making simple eggs and hashbrown stuff, So I took a chance again with the Skillet.....After a bit of a wait it arrived. MY EGGS WERE PERFECT, Over Hard, No Crunchie edges , No Sign of Liquid Chickens, STUNNINGLY PERFECT.....Then I peeled the eggs back and under them I got glop. Not normal glop mind you, it was WORLD CLASS GLOP.... It was a bland melange of oil soaked potatoes with limp ass veggies. It took imagination to screw this up so badly. Check out the picture. It was truly horrific.... MERCIFULLY, my wife tossed me parts of her belgian waffle and sausages so I was ok hunger wise..... It was 10 months between this review and my last reviewed visit, so cbeck back around New Years to see if I can finally learn that sometimes you just have to give up and accept that some places cant make Skillets or If I am a slow learner..... I was there for a party in the reserved room. I'll admit, the staff was pretty attentive, but the food really missed the mark. My fries were good (could have been hotter), but the burger fell apart when I picked it up. When they put these items on the menu, do they not try them first? The burger itself looked like it was made from scratch, not a pressed & frozen patty, so kudos on that. But the bun was totally inadequate, everything just fell off and the liquids from the toppings just soaked through. I gave up and used a fork & knife. My granddaughter's macaroni & cheese wasn't very hot either, and was kind of gelled ... she wouldn't eat it. Denny's can be a pretty good spot for a quick meal, but my impression of this particular location isn't very good. read more

Businesses that impose junk emails on you in order to get birthday rewards are ridiculous. We're bombarded with spam all day long. Small restaurants are going to win with me. Ordered food from Uber Eats. When the food arrived my husband was missing his cheesecake and I was missing my salad. We called to let them know and they informed us that they were out of salad (who runs out of salad!), and they forgot to give us the cheesecake. They never called us to inform us that they were out of salad but we were still charged for both the salad and the cheesecake. When we asked out they would rectify this issue they were unsure what to do and so they would have a manger call us back. No one ever called us back. Hey, it's Denny's, but this one was surprisingly good. The service was very friendly and attentive, the restaurant was updated and clean, and the food was delivered timely and pretty good. The coffee was delicious! I liked the red, white, and blue pancakes with fresh blueberries and strawberries. They had a sliced banana and yogurt option for our toddler. The omelette was good. The chicken fried steak was about what one would expect and the bacon was good, too. I just wish the hash browns were better. Whatever they use to fry them left them with that greasy after taste. I guess you can't have everything, but all in all, this was a pleasant experience! read more

It's Denny's so don't expect 5 star dining or service. You can order anything at any time which is a plus. Not restricted to breakfast food at 8 AM. I like that. It's clean enough and a good spot to people watch. read more
