My parents started going to Denny's about 5 years ago for breakfast after they exercised. They enjoyed the food, great customer service, and a special waitress Marleny. I would join them occasionally. The coffee, food and service was better than any other Denny's I had been too! The staffed always made my parents feel special. My Dad passed 2 1/2 years ago and my Mom still likes to go there to eat. It became a special place for them when my Dad was alive. There is a special waitress, Marleny, that has waited on us all those years. She is beautiful, thoughtful, and will give you the best service ever! Denny's is going all out with their curbside service! They already gave generous portions, but now they're offering these great family deals that really will feed the whole family and then some. Service is horrible here. I went there at 12 or 1 am and there was 4 of us. It's been a while but I remember that i was really not happy bc there was like 2 people there drinking and we didn't get our order until later and she kept talking to those people and didn't really care about us. Okay. It's fine to talk and do whatever. But when you have customers. Do you're job. It shouldn't be that hard to just glance at out table sometimes to see if we need anything. Very disappointed today.. first upon entering the restaurant, the hostess skipped me and let a huge party in front of me even after I pointed out the mistake. Wait wasn't too long though but then upon placing my order they refused to substitute meat with anything else; my request was for grits instead of the bacon or sausage as I do not eat meat and they would not accommodate, obviously grits do not cost more than bacon so not sure what that's about! My drink had debris in it and so I just didn't bother. Food was just okay. Also they apparently don't accept there own coupons as I witnessed with the customer in front of me. Place seems to be going downhill unfortunately, really had hope for this location as it once seemed to be one of the better Denny's locations, now it just seems to be hectic and unfriendly. read more

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL!!! ..No complaints on food at all. Their French toast is one of the best =). However, be aware and double check your bill. I went there for breakfast 2 days in a row and the 2 days, I had "small" extra items on my bill that we didn't order. I pointed it out to the register that, "we hadn't order those items". Register looks at the waitress and Manager like "damn, he noticed it". It gave me the feeling that they did this on purpose, hoping I wouldn't notice the extra items and charge me for those. I've been to dennys about 2-3 times and i'm sure i won't be returning. The waiters are lazy, dirty and have a bad attitude. Their service, is slow! I ordered something off their 2,4,5,8 dollar menu, they took about 25 minutes just to give me some hashbrowns. While i would stand for 2 minutes in a Mcdonalds line. I really hate to give them a one star since I use to come here almost every week, but after last night (3/19/2017) I do not plan on returning. Working in a highly regarded restaurant- part of the great American food chain- my standards are set high. However, the first round of drinks, which was just water, had a cockroach in it. It may just be my opinion but I think everyone would agree that the first thing they see before they even eat is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. We told our waitress and she just offered to get us another glass! Wanted to get food to pick up on my way home. I worked a 14 hour shift at my bar and it's now 5am. So I look up the number and called about 5 times in a row over a 10min period with no answer, I end up pulling into the lot and parking, walk inside and try calling again While I wait behind 3 guys and Lilly (on name tag) just ignoring the phone while she chats it up with the 3 young men. When I tell her I've been calling she just dismissed it. I get food Togo all the time and never have had this problem. So now I have to wait for it to be mAde. Worse management ever. The server made a mistake on not being clear on how many sides came with my entree, the manager, a female Latino, came to the table removed my home fries from my plate and proceeded to throw them in the trash and get me the original side I ordered. If the manager had any type of formal education in the service industry or even common sense in customer retention, the original side I ordered would have been brought out with an apology for the mistake. But rather than an apology, I had my food removed from my plate. I am a regular of this Denny's and though I feel as if the management was never that excited to be there or pleasant to their staff and customers, I always came back for the consistent food. However, today that all changes. I came in with a friend in town whom had never been to this location with our children. We were greeted by a newer waitress and asked her for minutes at a time since she kept coming back and we were still not ready to order because we were getting our children settled. We finally ordered our drinks and she came with two coffees and two cheap styrofoam cups for our children's drinks. Firstly, we placed the orders for our children's meals. I went with the "Build Your Own" and selected a grape bowl, egg whites, and turkey bacon. The waitress immediately stated that there would be an upcharge for the fruit even though it costs $0.89 like EVERY SINGLE other item under the build your own section and every single waiter/waitress I've had there has never upcharged me. Next, my friend orders a children's meal and clearly tells the waitress that her son has an allergy to eggs so she would like to get yogurt instead which the waitress quickly stated that would be an upcharge, and then my friend stated her son would like strawberries on his French toast instead of bananas which you wouldn't think would be an issue but it IS AT DENNY'S. There's always an issue at Denny's. So while we are waiting for our children's food, her son's drink starts pouring out onto him because his finger poked a hole into the cup. I don't know any other institution that has styrofoam cups for a children's drink. Every competitor has plastic cups and therefore this wouldn't had been an issue anywhere else. We tell the waitress what happens and she goes and charges us for another children's apple juice. I don't know any other establishment who would charge for a spilled drink. Only this establishment would because they Nickel and Dime and don't respect the customers. So we complete our meal and then I look over our receipt. Beyond the 0.99 apple juice charge, they charged my friend $1.19 for strawberries on her son's French toast which is 1 Slice of toast cut into half, and I was charged $0.89 for the grapes even though that was the third item for my daughter's "Build Your Own," which it states that all additional items are $0.89 and it wasn't an additional item. So instead of up charging me, I was charged a whole fruit cup. I quickly take the receipt over to management and tell them I am not paying for the grapes and we are definitely not paying for the apple juice and I explain the whole situation. The Spanish female manager starts to lash out while actually turning red in the face, telling me that when I come in with my family there's always an "issue" and how no waiter or waitress wants to take our table and that our tips aren't sufficient for the treatment their staff endures when we come and how she sent someone over to sweep the "mess" my daughter made and how I didn't say thank you. She then stated I'll take it off but your family is "no longer welcome here." I always tip 20% when I receive good service, and quite frankly half of the time I come I have to ask for another cup of coffee or I have to send something back because it isn't "well done" as I asked. She then went and talked to the Caucasian male manager who told me he would buy the grapes but then he asked me, "Did I spill the apple juice?". It's the principle of the fact THAT YOU ARE A MANAGER- your job is to oversee your staff and to provide exceptional customer service so that your customers come back over and over again. I don't need to hear your personal synopsis about how you feel about myself and my family, I don't need to hear that no other child has ever spilt their juice at your location because THAT IS A LIE, I don't need to be threatened about trespassing and not being welcome to ever come back, and don't need to be disrespected, endure rudeness, and be spoken to condescendingly as a customer. Advice to the owner since I was told today that this is a privately owned location: 1) Hire a new, pleasant, professional management team because service is the #1 priority in growing and retaining a thriving establishment. 2) Re-Train all staff so that every customer that comes in has the same consistent experience. 3) Invest in durable kiddie cups like all of your competitor's. 4) Review your menu and work on reasonable upcharge prices because as I stated earlier I shouldn't be charged for a fruit bowl when in reality I was supposed to be UPCHARGED. With that being said, I will not be coming back to this location. The disrespect, the rudeness, and the unprofessionalism of the management has completely done it for me this time around. Having been a while since I stopped by this place I convinced my family to go here, and they did a wonderful job at reminding me why I don't come back. The portions are smaller now and the prices are the same. They brought the incorrect order and forgot to bring the side order for a family member, yet they charged me extra for season fries. When I asked the two managers about it they said it's on the menu and I asked if they could show me. It took them both at the same time 4-5 minuets to find it on the menu they use everyday. Went into Denny's with my family since we go out for breakfast every Sunday. We sat down and as we were waiting for our drinks we see a cockroach on the wall. We told the owner since she was there and she just asked us if we wanted to move. So we did. I wanted to leave but my family wanted to stay. So we moved seats and then the power went off. After we were done they made us wait an hour and told us we had to go to bank to take cash out because they weren't accepting cards due to the power not being on. Then after they couldn't be courteous and give us a discount for seeing the cockroach and for the power being out. I wish I didn't had to leave a star for this place. read more

About only place on Christmas morning for breakfast. Would have been 5-stars but for the service and Pin Head Management/Servers. Not real hungry so tried to select something from the "55+" menu. One Egg with Cheddar cheese and choice of Bacon or Sausage and comes with Pancakes. Did not want the pancakes as a Diabetic so wanted to have Wheat Toast instead. Was told that there were no substitutions, PERIOD. Tried to make the case what did it matter, pancake for toast but was told "NO SUBSTITUTIONS" and that I could build my own Slam that by the way cost more than what I wanted and did not get what I wanted. Got real pissed and just ordered two eggs that cost more than what I really wanted. No Toast For You!!!! Not sure who the Pin Head is who came up with this but my god. Yes, I realize that sometimes substitutes cost more money and a business can loose money but Toast vs Pancakes???, come on, I would guess its less cost and surely did not take more time, money, etc than pancakes. Gave it two stars as what I got was good and the cooks have nothing to do with Pin Head policy. The service here was very poor. My order was wrong. I ordered a Country Fried Steak Skillet and they brought it out as a dinner plate. So when I explain I wanted the skillet they made the potatoes and put the same cold steak and eggs used from the plate in stead of recooking it the right way and bringing me fresh food. Really good service I like that I can substitute. I have not been here in at least five years seems to have changed very little . The counter used to be lower and longer . I agree with Seam K love the music just right background noise with the dinner noise . The smell of the neighboring booth is wonderful , she says she ordered the ultimate skillet ! I drive from near Vienna just to go to this Denny's. Service is usually very good, and the staff is awesome. It's one of the few places that still serves a decent amount of food. My only negative is that it's non-smoking now (as all restaurants in Virginia are as of Dec. 1, 2009). read more

Great good ol' unhealthy breakfast food.Usually, this place is a hit for me. They have seasonal themes. Not sure if that is what they are called but--when The Hobbit came out in theaters, Denny's had a dedicated menu to the movie so the food was themed after the Hobbit. Right now, they have an America theme for July 4th. I've been here three times so far and yesterday was unfortunately not a good trip for me. I love getting the Lumberjack Grand Slam that consists of 2 pancakes, Hashbrown, 2 Slices of Toast, 2 Eggs, 2 Sausages, Ham, and 2 Slices of Bacon. I take out the pancakes and add more hashbrown. The hashbrown was cooked crisp which was awesome. I always love the crunch. Gives it a nice bit to the food. The problem I had was with the eggs. I order over-medium and what I got was raw egg--the egg white wasn't even white. It was still clear! The sausages were still pink inside when I bit into the meat. I immediately spat them back out. Undercooked eggs and meat is not an ideal way to eat. This is the first time that I've had a problem with the way their food was cooked. I asked the waiter to redo the eggs because it was so runny and I hate sending back food but the eggs were sooo raw. I didn't bother with the sausage and just left those on my plate. The restaurant wasn't even that busy. They should really spend more time checking the food to make sure it is cooked. It's really hit or miss here. read more

I have had some good steak in my time but the steak I had here today takes the cake. It was seriously the best steak I've ever had, better than outback even. (It was the Garlic Peppercorn Sirloin) The customer service was great, the food came out really fast and all of it was really well done. I can honestly say that reading all of the reviews for this place blows my mind. People overreact to things and then write bad reviews, making it seem like these places aren't worth going to. EXTREMELY RUDE male manager at this location. Very unprofessional and needs to learn a thing or two about customer service and how to speak to customers. Upon reading reviews for this establishment, apparently I'm NOT the only customer who has experienced the ASSHOLE of a manager who works here. I'm VERY surprised he has a managerial position, though this is Denny's, so I suppose that explains it. He wouldn't make it at a nicer establishment. Another not so pleasant staff member was a female and perhaps an assistant manager there. The waiter, however, was very friendly, but could've been a little more attentive.
