Buffalo Boneless Chicken Wings
Savannah R.

I visited this Denny's location on Sunday, 9/17/23, around 2 a.m. It appeared to be busy, but I was able to sit down very quickly. I decided to order the Buffalo Boneless Wings, Moons Over My Hammy Omelette with Hashbrowns, and a Strawberry Banana Smoothie. The smoothie was refreshing and the food was average/tolerable. The server did forget to bring a side of toast with the omelette. When I got the check, I requested the toast to be packed in a to-go box. Denny's is convenient to go for food for a late-night bite. However, service can be hit or miss.

Went to this location this past Monday morning for breakfast. Service was good. My wife ordered an omelette with toast. When the toast came out, we thought that it had cheese on it. Overloaded with way to much butter. I use less butter than that when I cook pancakes for three of us at home. She ended up scraping off more than half the butter before eating the bread.

Unbelievable they served a so called belgian waffle so small like four inches across and frozen. I sent it back was not paying $7 for junk.

When I became a parent, I brought my kids here too and they loved the trains on the tracks hanging from the ceiling. The food is always good. Classic diner food, with some home style Greek specials as a nod to the owner's heritage. The staff are always pleasant, even in the midst of a rush. I'll keep coming here as long as they're open.

PROS: 1) Ordered the Sirloin Steak & Eggs, (#9 on the menu) & the Pancake & Eggs selection. (#31) Was delicious. Ordered the eggs over-easy, and the eggs were served exactly over easy. (I.e., all wet & yellow on the inside) Other diners nowadays don't serve over-easy eggs this way, and the egg yolk is fried & dried when served. Today's chef did these eggs right! 2) The pancakes were HUGE! Not just fluffy for show, but actually packed with volume. Was totally surprised. Plus, the syrup is served in those old-school dispensers, (see attached picture) so you can pour as much syrup as you want on your pancakes. I usually drown my pancakes in syrup. However, a lot of diners nowadays pour the syrup in tiny containers when served, (in order to cut costs) so I usually have to bug the servers for more syrup. 3) The venue is quite amazing. Most young kids nowadays have probably never seen the type of classic trains in the display cases at the restaurant. So in that sense, this place is also a train museum. Plus, the restaurant retains that nostalgic vibe of when diners were an integral part of the American family dining experience. 4) A petite Latina Lady took my order at the counter and this Gen Z Bro served the dishes. Both individuals were polite & professional. (Honestly, didn't expect to see such a well-mannered Gen Z Bro as a server. Must be local Lodi hospitality.) NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: Give these kids a raise. 5) At the time of this post, high inflation plagues America. But this restaurant provides good food, at a high volume, at an affordable price. But Management still needs to give the kids in the aforementioned a raise. CONS: The bacon served with the pancakes are a teensy bit burned. But I'm sure that there are a lot of other customers who prefer to have their bacon prepared well-done. SUMMARY: There are so many items on the menu. I NEED TO GO BACK to try some of the other entrees. In the meantime, if you're reading this, and have never been to this place, by all means give it a try!

Always a good sign. We were quickly seated in their covered patio area. The seating was quite comfortable. The staff were prompt and attentive. I ordered the Potatoe Platter. Probably not the healthiest of choices but who can deny a heaping platter of country style potatoes mixed with grilled ham, bacon, onions, and topped with melted cheese. I mean seriously. I ordered mine with eggs and ordered the pancake instead of toast, more on that later. To say this is a hearty meal would be the understatement of the year. Try as I might, I packed over half of this delicious dish for breakfast the following day. Judge me if you must, but I measure all pancakes against the gold standard of pancakes, McDonalds. The Avenue Grill offered a solid pancake, light, fluffy with a slight snap, every bit a worthy competitor to my favorite. Before I knew it, the pancake was gone. My wife ordered the French Toast. Want we loved about the Avenue Grill is sometimes you just want good, simple food and this was the case with the French Toast. Based on a light Sourdough, the french toast had good flavor and came together nicely with the syrup. All in all, we absolutely loved Avenue Grill. If you're ever in the Lodi area, Avenue Grill is worth a visit.

It's set in a nondescript strip mall & the restaurant itself is small with outdoor seating with space heaters but we three sat at the bar so we didn't have to wait at all for a table. My wife had her usual veggie omelette with no cheese but with sourdough toast. When we were served our breakfast our faces lit up literally bc of the massive amount of food. And that's an understatement! We ended up with boxes to go bc there was so much food on our plate. Crazy amount! You can be sure we would return! Can't wait!

Even though it was a half order, it was still very substantial. I always want to take a nap after eating here. Sitting at the counter is the best. Wow. SQZ Burger has been open for nearly three years in Lodi and I never noticed it. I know I've…read moredriven past it many times, but I guess their signage is too modest compared to the huge "IDOL BEER WORKS" on the other end of the building. I figured it was just another iteration of the original (now long gone) Squeeze Inn in Sacramento, and I was right. I don't think the various locations are franchises, but are more likely independently owned, and the quality varies from location to location. The one that used to be in West Sac, for instance, was terrible, which might explain why it's been gone for years. And the mid-town was also a resounding MEH, and also gone. There's nothing at any version of Squeeze Inn/Burger that I want more than just a basic Squeeze (or in this case, SQZ) with Cheese, though. I don't want a taco, nor a BLT, and especially not chicken strips. I want that which made the brand famous. A cheeseburger with all the traditional toppings and a cheese skirt just dripping cheese grease off it. SQZ Burger delivers the goods. The cheese skirt was just the right size, not too big, not too small. At one point in my life I would have said that there's no such thing as a cheese skirt that's too big, but a couple of years ago I had a cheese skirt that was so big that I felt sick afterward from all the cheese grease! In addition to the just right amount of cheese, the burger had lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and a healthy schmear of mayo and mustard. Damn near a perfect burger. The owner was running the register on my visit, and when she brought my food out, she asked if I wanted a side of ranch. I'm the kind of guy who would drink ranch dressing if I could, so of course I accepted. I didn't even ask - It was nice of her to offer! There's a throughline from the original Squeeze Inn on Power Inn Road to SQZ Burger, too. The father of the husband half of the H/W ownership team owned the original location. Brandon and Katie ran the Galt location for several years, and have now brought the goodness to a Lodi brick and mortar spot. I'll definitely be back.

I was the only waiting on food, so I wasn't expecting it to take so long. The burger was just okay. It was way too messy to eat and it tasted like it had been reheated or something. There was something about it that just didn't taste fresh. I ended up giving 3/4 of it to my husband. The fries, however, were exceptional. I got some ranch on the side for dipping and their ranch is also delicious. If I ever go back here, it will be during cooler weather and only for fries.
