Our server Javier was not. He took forever just to greet us, and only checked on us once, ignoring us everytime he walked by. His carver was very helpful to us. (I forget his name). Besides Coleslaw that had a good balance of creaminess and crunchiness, and nicely seasoned elongated French Fries, the battered fish on my plate consisted of three large batons of very heat-hot fish that tasted great dipped in provided Tartar Sauce after application of a little lemon juice and malt vinegar. One of my batons was a little undercooked; the other two were perfect. Diane liked her Fish N Chips as well, plus the Fried Shrimp, but wished that her shrimps had been battered rather than breaded. Our server, Chris G., did a great job of waiting on us, and quickly fulfilled our requests for ketchup, malt vinegar, and in Diane's case Coleslaw removed from her plate. Even though I was pretty full at meal's end, I knew that if we had gone to an AYCE place like Black Bear Diner across the Colorado River, I would have downed at least one more filet of fish. The Fish N Chips offering here was quite reasonably priced, so Diane and I discussed putting in another order to split, and decided to do so. Thus, I called our server over and tried to put in the order. Alas, I was told that no more fish remained--but not to worry about making a belated request, because the cook had informed him that no more fish remained right after receiving our initial order. So we couldn't have had more fish even if we had tried to add a third helping with our original order. Next time I will arrive earlier in the evening!

Although sides are hardly mentioned, I recommend the loaded baked potato. The staff is always great and one staff member always manages to help the other so that service is always top notch. The atmosphere is a perfect steakhouse atmosphere, but also with a great view of the Colorado. So if you're in Laughlin at the Golden Nugget, make a stop at Saltgrass Steakhouse.

The only color was the orange slice. The hash browns are straight from the freezer to the grill to the plate. The gravy tastes like plain canned gravy. The eggs were at least cooked correctly. Fortunately they have Tabasco sauce. But they couldn't be bothered to remove the clear plastic seal from a new bottle. One of the staff decided that they would clear an adjacent table and separate out trash, food, and silverware from the plates on the cart in front of our table. That should be a back of house operation. Take the plates as they are to the back and sort it out there.

This particular location often has long wait times, but the staff works incredibly hard to keep things running smoothly and to deliver hot, fresh meals. For a non-high-end steakhouse inside a constantly busy casino, they run a very solid operation. Credit where credit is due. I definitely recommend it. They're open until 11 PM, and it tends to get quieter and easier to get seated after about 8 PM if you want to avoid the crowds.
