We were on the first leg of a cross country road trip. We stayed a couple days in Deming and decided we needed just some basic eggs and toast before heading out. There was not much going on in the town at 5am on a Saturday but the Denny's sign was lit up like Las Vegas! We walked in to a quiet reception area but got seated in the happening place of the dining room. One table full of charming cowboy hat wearing older gentlemen . With another table of presumably their wives. Everyone happily chatting away and enjoying their morning coffee. A few other tables of similar folks. Husband and I placed our order, enjoyed the coffee and proceeded to people watch. The food was pure Denny's . Decent and hot with plenty of fresh coffee offered. Just what the doctor ordered. So what. Big deal. Right!?! After all it's a restaurant that's supposed to serve meals. But this experience at this specify Denny's was different. You see we were welcomed, seated, served and coffee-ed by just one person. The same assistant night manager who was helping each and every person. All by himself. There was probably a cook back there somewhere but all we saw was him. All alone. Clearing all the tables. Serving. All the while a big smile and very efficient. Thank you Demings Denny. Whoever your assistant night manager was, he deserves a raise and a paid vacation. read more

Everything was practically closed when we pulled into Deming. We drove around looking for a restaurant and we were definitely not wanting any fast food.. What did we find? DENNYs! Growing up I was an avid Denny's customer and we were there almost every weekend... then we started drifting away and it had been a while since I stepped into a Denny's. We walked in and the there were two employees manning the front. One of them turned up being our server and he walked us to a booth. He apologized because our table was sticky and and he quickly ran to the back to grab a rag and wipe it down. We sat down, he gave us menus, and he took our drink orders. I ended up getting the 8oz steak with mashed potatoes and corn and my friend ordered the moon over my hammy with seasoned fries. (Seasoned fries are an additional 49 cents) Our food came out about 15 minutes later and our server happily brought it out. He checked up on us several times and made sure we were ok. The food was great! My steak was very juicy and flavorful! The corn was sweet and the mashed potatoes were perfect with the brown gravy they put on top! Service was great and the food was delicious! Very unclean place. The floors was littered with food scraps and trash in the eating area. But the worse part was the restroom. Look at the sign in between the mirrors. "Clean and well stocked restrooms are important to us." Well you can see where's the soap? And the towel dispenser is broken. How do their workers who handle your food was their hands. HORRIBLE. This review is for BOTH the server and the cooks. First, the Positive: Jose was our server tonight and he did an excellent job trying to solve the problem that the cooks kept making. He was attentive, courteous and an excellent server. If I had a business where I could use someone in customer service, I would steal him away immediately! Now the NEGATIVE: The cooks apparently don't read the menu, nor do they read the recipes that I'm sure come from corporate Denny's. They never could get my order correct. I wanted the nine grain pancakes with the cinnamon crumb topping as advertised on the menu for another pancake recipe. Both the picture and the description says that the cinnamon crumb is a TOPPING on each pancake, it is not cooked into the pancake. My companions had already eaten their food by the time Jose finally brought out my order, only to discover that they had not made nine grain pancakes but instead they were regular pancakes with a cinnamon/sugar mixture cooked into the batter. I went ahead and had a few bites, but they weren't what I wanted and so I had Jose take my plate away. Maybe you need to do some more training with your cooks! read more

Friendly servers. We were greeted immediately and later, while we waited for the kids to play the claw machine, were asked again if we needed help, so that was great. I immediately noticed how clean the place is. I think another recent review said it was dirty, but it was absolutely sparkling. Bathrooms were very clean too! It took forever to get our food-- probably 25-30 minutes-- the waitress told us twice "the food is almost done" and apologized for the wait. I appreciated that she kept us in the loop. She was awesome. I had steak, corn, and fries. Food was not hot but acceptable, and I was too hungry to care that much. I don't know what the hold-up was on the food but apparently something had to be redone. The waitress asked me to cut into my steak to make sure it was acceptable, and it was (I asked for medium rare). My kid had chicken strips, my other kid had eggs and pancakes, and my husband had a BBQ burger. Everyone enjoyed their food. Why do I go to Denny's?? I'm never satisfied however I always want to give them another chance. Food was bland and over buttered. I got the original grand slam. It took us at least 10 mins just to get our coffee. The staff seemed nice and the place wasn't terribly crowded so I'm not sure what the problem was. Their food needs an overhaul!! read more

I'm a be a native to Deming New Mexico button on my years, Julia, I'm not sure her last name, but the most amazing human on earth not only that as I've been going there, she was a server and made her way up to a manager boss position, but she goes above and beyond for the customers, years and years later, always smiling, and never forgets that I believe a familiar face or a hometown face judgment free zone. First off it's a Denny's so if you expect a Ruth's Chris type of meal and leave a bad review check yourself. We're traveling cross country and decided to stop by for breakfast. It was really busy but it's a holiday weekend so it's expected. Our waitress, April, was super friendly and hardworking. She was busy but provided excellent service. Santa Fe skillet with fresh avocado did not disappoint. Better than other Dennys I've been to in CA or AZ! I only ever order breakfast and would definitely stop by again on future trips. read more

I am very happy with the service this Monday evening around 7pm. Pics attached shows a tee bone and country fried steak. It took 17-minutes and 23-seconds from us ordering and it arriving to our table. Tamelyn is clearly a professional. She was frequent with our visits, quick for our drinks, smiles and is very friendly. She is the one I choose. The steak was as requested, juicy and grilled with great color. The country fried steak was crispy and covered with gravy. The best I have seen in a while. Most folks are not as generous with their gravy, which was not the case here. The garlic toast was perfectly seasoned. The broccoli was crisp and bright green. the cheesy mashed is always good. For a place as packed as it was, we got our food in good time and great quality. There are a lot of restaurants in town. This place is the right choice. We will go back tonight for dessert. Thanks guys, great job Our dessert visit was very sweet and cold. Rudest customer service....no greeting as we waited to be acknowledged to be seated.Slowest service....took long enough just to get water....coldest food....lucky anything was room temperature let alone hot as it should be in my opinion but because we were passing through and were hungry and it seemed like there wasn't many other options....we stayed here...waited for our server to come back and she never did after our food was brought and so I had to go to the front to ask for a box and our bill as we wanted to order dessert to go but decided to just leave. I've been in a few times, always super late at night during to business trips where I end up working until midnight or so. Traveling we happened to come upon this Denny's and we did not want to eat there because my wife is immune compromised and we are still worried about COVID. So we ordered to go and the took a hour and 18 minutes to give us our food while we waited outside in the heat. The employees were all young and playing around the entire time my daughter was waiting in the front. Two of them were outside flirting with each other. When I finally went inside to check on my order the food was there but no one on sight. I called out young lady came gave us our food. Our food was very cold and my daughter's loaded tatie-tots were completely burned ( black charcoal ). My food as well as my wife's food was disgusting! My niece is not picky at all said it was horrible! It was a horrible experience for us because we were hungry, tired, and my wife needed to eat to take her medication and couldn't. First the good- we had a very nice server who cleaned up my daughters spilt drink with a smile on his face. There was a sign saying sorry for the mess. They were remodeling. I hope so. The cushions were ripped and duct taped & the carpet torn at the seams. I thought they could have improved the atmosphere with a good bucket of soapy water. I can handle a warn look but I don't like seeing other patrons food in the cracks of the booths or other people's kids greasy finger prints on the windows near my face. Feel sorry for the people of deming. This is the dirtiest dennys i have ever been to and i love dennys so i usually pick dennys for breakfast. We were driving to california and deming just seemed like the halfway point of our trip so we stopped here. Unfortunately by the time we got ready for dinner it was after 9pm. Anyone familiar with deming standard practices (we werent), knows that only dennys and ihop are open at that hour as everything dies at 9. We went for dinner and the place was dirty the service terrible and our order was all wrong. But we returned the next morning for breakfast because we love dennys and we wanted to give them another chance. We know breakfast is their main meal so we gave them a mulligan but breakfast was no better. Place was still dirty and although the service was a bit better most of it was wrong. Pretty sad for the dennys franchise in regards to this place but as we were told "its deming" what do we expect. Next time a cup of coffee and keep driving another hour or so. read more

Didn't see my order until I was home (pick up only no dine in) Paid for a full meal to only receive at the most 10 pieces of fries. As I waited for my food the manager was going off about how she had got 3 calls on complaints and she didn't care what customers said to keep doing what they where doing. Worst food at any Denny;s I've ever had. Food was cold. fried egg was hard despite my asking for it to be 'basted.' Hash browns were over cooked and the rest of the meal tasted like slopbout . My sister made ann excuse for them saying maybe the regular cook wasnt there. I don't give a rat's butt about that. I should never have even paid for that awfull meal and am sick of the excuses that people put up with for such bad food. I don't expect that much from a Denny's but the food should be well cooked and hot. Period. If it i not they have no business serving it. Shame on them. To spend 20 bucks with tip on a meal like that was ridiculous and I will not do it again. read more
