I wish we would have read the reviews before we went - we were seated right away ... but that was the end of service as you know it. We sat in a booth for over 15 minutes and not one person even said hello. The two waitresses walked past our table at least three times with no acknowledgment. Three other tables were sat after us - when the "servers" finally came out they went to the table seated most recently and still ignored us. As we left I mentioned to the waitress that we had been seated first but never approached, her reply was, "ok". Thank goodness the delightful Roxy's was open across the street! Loved my breakfast at Adobe Springs Cafe in Silver City! The green chile breakfast burrito was packed with flavor, perfectly spicy, and the portions were generous enough to share. Hash browns came out crispy just like I asked, coffee was hot and strong, and our server was super friendly even though it was busy. Because I travel so much. I'm always on the look for a really good breakfast venue, this fit that description. It's a Southwest classic. The food was well prepared hot and delicious. I always like to support a local venue and this is a locally owned family business i think it's been around over for over 30 years . The current ownership bought it in 2010. The husband and wife team met at the restaurant in 2004 I have been twice, the service was fast and efficient and the food came along quickly. Staff really cared and wanted you to be happy. Even though a lot of people know each other they went out of their way to make sure you felt welcome They serve breakfast and brunch. I came for breakfast, .. One time I had the breakfast burrito the small.one would be enough. Thev other time I had a classical breakfast: Bacon eggs, hash browns and biscuits. They were accommodating to my requests for crisp hash browns and bacon. It's a great fun place but it does get crowded which speaks to its food but they do a good job of trying to serve people the best way they can. First time in Silver City and first time eating here. Completely ignored at check in as multiple employees walked by. That is fine until they are not busy and a table is open, but a simple greeting is free and builds good will. Once seated we noticed they greeted locals and regulars by name as soon as they entered the door. We did not feel welcomed nor wanted as customers. No problem, lots of other places to try. Once seated service was satisfactory (neither great nor terrible). The Huevos Rancheros lacked flavor, the beans were dry and I have never seen everything glopped together in Huevos before. A cute little café in historic downtown Silver City, the Adobe Springs Café offers breakfast and lunch options. Offstreet parking is available, but it can get tight. There is indoor and outdoor seating's at this location, weather permitting. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. The interior is renovated, rustic southwest decor. Very clean, nice place to meet with friends. Both the breakfast and lunch menus are extensive with plenty of options to make it your own. The servers were super pleasant and worked as a team to make sure that we had everything we needed. Our order was out very quickly and wonderful presentation and great quality food. Recommend that you stop in for breakfast or lunch at this location next time you're in the area as it is worth checking it out. read more

Wound up in Silver City a little bit by accident on a trip to the Gila NF to get a Christmas tree. Decided to get lunch in town so I hopped on yelp and evaluated menus. With a vegetarian, vegan-leaning, and vegetarian-leaning person in our group, this place seemed like our best bet to satisfy all appetites. It met all expectations! Although it was cold out, they were fine with us sitting on their patio so that our dogs (3) could stay with us. They have racks for purses or bags that were great for hooking leashes. The staff were super friendly and attentive even though there were only 2 parties dining outdoors (due to the cold). My partner and I got coffee and split the huevos ranchers and the madam millie loaded sweet potato fries. What a delight! Both dishes were actually spicy, which was so fun. I liked the fries the best. Would happily get that again! Massive amounts of food so we took home 1/4 of the huevos and 1/2 the fries. Very good! Large portions and fairly reasonable prices. My eating companions and I enjoyed: mozzarella sticks appetizer, entrees of - Adobe burger, Adobe salad, biscuits and gravy, and breakfast combo. We enjoyed mimosas to drink. The food was delicious - everything tastes fresh even though it's a large establishment. The salsa and chili was hot. I don't normally enjoy mozzarella sticks but here they are incredible. I have seriously never had mozzarella sticks this good. We waited 20 minutes on a Saturday morning around 11:30. I would recommend and I will return! read more

While I love the great breakfast and lunch menu at the popular Adobe Springs Cafe, the chaotic service leaves room for improvement. We enjoyed a couple of salads for lunch, but somehow it took more than a half an hour for the salads to make it to the table. The portions are always ample, and the food is nicely prepared. This hole in the wall was the recommendation of Lupe at Little Toad when I asked her where she goes out for breakfast. Spot-on recommendation. Btw - Little Toad is a great choice for dinner since Adobe Springs is only breakfast/lunch. They open at 7am and one is well advised to get there early because there's a line that grows as it gets later in the morning. Indoor seating looked nice, but if the temperature is appropriate, outdoor on the spacious patio is really great. I was there for breakfast and had already noted the Southwestern fare amongst a wide selection of other universally traditional breakfast items. The setting looks to be an old school, small town car dealership on the sleepier and quieter end of Bullard Street. It's retro, Kitschy and cool, fitting perfectly into the Silver City vibe. Being in real chile country, I am also accustomed with the NM norm of smothering dishes with a delicious dousing of chile sauce - green of course, but red or green is an unwinnable Ford vs. Chevy religious debate and you'll always be asked which you want. You can go "bi" and get both. I've been known to swing both ways in that respect. I zeroed in on the breakfast burrito because I could get it with eggs and chorizo, though other meats are also available. I also saw the one could have included in the filling "real" homemade pinto beans, not that nasty wallpaper paste of questionable brown exudate from unknown orifices. No refried beans for me 'cuz they look recycled. I was properly advised that the breakfast burrito was massive, like a zeppelin on a plate, but there was a more reasonable size version and that would not leave one hungry. I asked for the poquito burrito, trusting the advice of the local sage and she was true to her word. Check the photo I attached of this simple masterpiece. It was served piping hot. The tortilla was crisp, yet pliable and immersed in a very tasty rendition of green chile sauce (everyone has their own take on it), accompanied by beautifully melted and browned cheese. The engorged burrito interior had fluffy eggs with a generous portion of incredibly lean chorizo having a distinctive spice blend that wasn't hot and then to complete the filling ensemble were those delicious whole pinto beans madejust right. No skimping on the meat and the entire portion was a complete meal without being too much. Prices were extremely reasonable and far less than we paid elsewhere in the area. I have to comment that the chile sauce was tangy, but not overpowering. You knew it was there, but it had a gentle warmth the perfectly accompanied the dish. Paired with a great cup of coffee, this lasted me until dinner even with strenuous hiking. If Adobe Springs were open on a Monday, I'd be having breakfast there again tomorrow. My first time at their new location. Great corner in old town Silver City. I chose the patio seating. It's Saturday morning not super busy. I got the 1/2 order of huevos rancheros with 1/2 red 1/2 green sauce and 1/2 beans 1/2 hash browns While the picture proves to be a beautiful presentation I have to say it was just mediocre. The base was stale cardboard blue tortilla chips and the beans were not cooked thoroughly. Huevos rancheros were satisfying. My aunt ordered a half and it was the perfect amount. She ordered it Christmas style on the side. Pro tip. Ordering on the side seems to get you more. But buyer beware the sauces both have wheat in them. Southwest was really good. Although the restaurant has no control over green chili spice it was spot on. Great flavor. Good solid meal. Went to Silver Spring NM to visit a friend. And while it was great to see my friends, I was not particularly impressed with Silver City on the whole. While we just had one afternoon to check out the town, there certainly were many buildings in need of repair. The town itself is historic as it is over 100 years old. Perhaps I would change my mind if I had more time to investigate the nooks and crannies of town. Outskirts of time offered many beautiful vistas and the University of Southern NM is in this town. Our friend recommended Adobe Springs Cafe for breakfast. It was located in what looked like an old motel (and it was). It was converted to a small strip mall. Our breakfast was outstanding and plentiful. We had a really great lunch the day before, but that's another review. We started with the Fried Avocado slices which were different and equally Amazing! They had nice light crunch on the outside and warm creamy center. Wow, well, the good news is that it was cheap. There's lots of bad news though: After standing in the entrance, where one would normally wait for a table, for 15 minutes, during which multiple waitstaff walked around me to seat multiple parties, I finally grabbed one of these people and said that I wanted to order something. She seemed annoyed and told me to wait, so I did (I shouldn't have) another 10 minutes. Finally, I ordered a burger to go. It took 45 minutes to get the food and it was highly mediocre--tasteless, dry--and french fries felt and tasted like salty styrofoam, and were not only cold but felt like logs of cardboard, like they had been sitting overnight. Best food in town along with wonderful staff members. Breakfast is very popular, as is lunch. One of my favorites is the southwest steak sandwich, but all of their sandwiches are good, as are the homemade potato chips. They make the best soup in town in the colder months. Eating on the outdoor patio is nice in the summer, but bring your heavy coat when eating indoors in the colder months. They have a very high ceiling, and heating the restaurant is a big problem. They really need to drop the ceiling by about ten or more feet to make good heating practical. read more

I was expecting it like traditional patty with gravy on top but they chopped it up and mix it with you eggs at first I wasn't a fan by the look of it but it actually was very good.
