Very good food. I've eaten here all my adult life. I'm sad to hear that it's for sale.

Fantastic food (good portions for fair pricing) & great service, I highly recommend this place!

We stopped in for breakfast and enjoyed breakfast burritos and got two to go for later they were so good Filled with bacon, potato, cheese and egg on a flour tortilla. We are biking the great divide and enjoyed our second burritos a couple hours later on our way to Hatchito read more

I would not recommend it. Locals seem to like the place for a quick lunch. To my taste, once was enough.

Small modest diner, but not on the main drag. Their signature breakfast burrito was loaded and tasty. Even better was the friendliness and courtesy of the staff. I would give it 5 Stars, but the coffee want great that morning. I will go back as the menu looked really good . read more

Native of silver city. On vacation and ordered smother chicken burrito. It was very small especially for the price. I remember eating there before and burritos were big enough to fill you up. Sometimes not able to finish it all in one sitting. Just my two cents. The sauce was still good as always. read more

Love this place!! Has been in this location many years. Great food! Owner still comes in the restaurant every day. I visit Silver City at least once a year and only eat here!! read more

Despite the name, the serve mostly Mexican food. My husband and I ordered a turkey sandwich. After waiting a few minutes, the cashier came to the table wand said they were out of turkey and offered us roast beef. My husband took that and I changed my order to a bean and cheese burrito. Both items were good, but not what we really wanted. It's a very small place with lots of flies. Not much ambiance. read more

The worst hamburger ever anywhere on the planet is here. Grossly overcooked and plastered with mustered without asking me. The fries were close to raw and covered with green chili. It took 40 minutes to get this garbage so be forwarned!!! read more

After several recommendations, we chose Grinder Mill. Nailed it!! Might be described as no-frills, but I guarantee there's not a friendlier place. Now the food...oh the food!! Gorditas are perfection with a beautiful soft dough with just the right amount of crisp. Tamales with a buttery soft masa and tender filling. Rellenos with just the right amount of spice and crispy tacos that make you sigh with happiness. Service is amazing and it's so evident that the secret ingredient in all of this is loving care. It's like a big ol hug from your abuela ! read more

We were looking for a great Mexican carry out spot. This was a 4.5 actually. Knocked down only because green chile sauce was too bland. Their breakfast menu is available at night. We ordered the breakfast Christmas style (half green half red sauce). Super helpful and bubbly person took our order. I would definitely go back. read more

Very good service , fast and reasonable prices. However, the sauces aren't what they used to be. Not spicy at all. The green sauce is mostly cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup. C'mon Grinder, give us the level you used to be!!! read more

Excellent soup! The staff was very friendly and cordial. I'd go back again. Don't be fooled by the exterior.

My mom brought my family here because she came here as a teenager... everything was salty and it SUCKED! Do not come here! read more

Grinder Mill - That's a combination burrito... plain and uninteresting. It's very salty... same with the beans. - Mexican Near Me - Silver City, New Mexico

Grinder Mill is a Silver City favorite. Me and my family have been eating here since i was little and still do. Of course everyone isn't gonna like everything on the menu. I haven't been to a restaurant that i can say that everything was great so don't pay attention to some of these negative reviews. Breakfast is always quick and great and Roxanne always has her beautiful smile. For lunch, try some of the subs Turkey sub with green chili or the Hot Roast Beef. Dinner try Combo Burro with green chili on top or the reg Tacos. Whenever we have company over or from out of town we order Tamales by the dozen and their Menudo on the Sundays. I hope you give The Grinder Mill a try if haven't already. read more

Waitress was very nice, very helpful. The oatmeal was good. The green chile huevos rancheros had a yellowish sauce on top that could have passed for hollandaise. It was very... Unique. Obviously heavy on the cornstarch so if you're looking for very very mild and maybe this is for you. Also, not indicated on the menu, there was a mass of ground beef hidden underneath the eggs, so if you can't eat beef this isn't for you read more

The Grinder is a Silver City favorite. This place was our go to for breakfast, lunch, simple and delicious things. Are you going to get something super fancy? No. Is it going to be delicious and comforting? Yes! More than likely! Whatever you get, make sure to have it smothered in an amazing red or green chile sauce (our house is divided on what's the best!) and you pretty much can't go wrong. Personal favorites are the green chile cheese fries or a green beef combination burrito. We moved away 9 years ago and I still remember these comfort foods. read more

Grinder Mill has taken turns for the worst. I have eaten here and off since the 1980's but as it is now, it's got issues. The Huevo's Ranchero's we ordered are cut with mushroom soup- you can find mushroom bits. Who does this? Yuck! The green chili was not hot, watered down with the soup. They add what felt like still slightly cold ground beer onto it, and it was not good. The eggs were fine, but they did fail to cook them over medium as requested and were runny- I like runny eggs but still, not what I asked for. The beans weren't hot and looked like they had just slid out of the can, which they did. The rice and eggs were the only winners. The empanadas were tasty. I won't be back. read more

Good food but the place is pretty run down and the ceiling was sagging, the air Ben was glued into place. read more

Grinder Mill - two plates of food on a table - Mexican Near Me - Silver City, New Mexico

We live close by and go almost twice a week. It's no frills and authentic cooking. Very delicious food. I particularly enjoy the green chili stew. It's hearty and scrumptious. read more

Taco salad was terrible and I'm not a picky eater. The hamburger was incredibly bland and they served the salad on a plate arranged like nachos with confetti shreds of lettuce. My husband said the sub was ok. read more

Over rated at Best and very pricey!!! Food below average. Meat cold & taco salad a joke!! Would NOT recommend!! You can go to Logans Steak house & get a better meal for the $$$$!! read more

Menudo is great here. Also ordered enchilada fries later that day that were pretty good too. Might be a little overpriced and could definitely use a deep cleaning of the window areas to get bridges of dust and dead flies read more

A friend recommended this place, but I didn't think it was anything special. Thought it was overpriced for what you get and the interior was dingy. Won't go back. read more

You don't come here for fancy food and smiling bubbly waitresses, you come hungover and enjoy the traditional resting bitch faces that silver city has to offer. I personally love this place. It reminds me where I came from. If you aren't from silver, take a zantac or tums with you. You'll need it later. Get drunk before you go. It helps out a lot. read more

Trying to find a restaurant open on Sunday in Silver City is not easy. We found this one and were very disappointed. Poor service and the food was nothing to write home about. The lady took my order, 4 simple things on my sandwich, watched her write it down. Came fully loaded, sent it back, missing things. The roast beef, wasn't pieces of meat, it was thin strips of beef, like shoestring potato's Would not go back. read more

Paid $13 for a combination plate that was made ready for me in like 3 minutes (clearly not freshly made). The tamale, relleno and enchiladas were drenched in a soup load of bland sauce. The amount of sauce on the items was very unappetizing. The ladies in the kitchen were using foul language within earshot of my boys. read more

I love the red enchiladas. The tamales are delicious too. I usually call my order in and never have any problems always good food.

Great place to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I would go everyday if I could. I always make it a point to stop when I'm in town.

Not a fancy place by any standard, but is a great cafe! Some of the food is pretty good. The green chile sauce was a bit salty and tasted canned to me. Prices are a bit higher than I would pay on a regular basis. Especially with La Cocina and Subway close by. read more

Service was ok. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. As it happened, we were there for breakfast, so what could go wrong with one egg scrambled, hash browns and ham? Well the ham was the thinnest sliced I have ever seen aside from slivered lunch meat and it was cold. The egg was rubbery and cold. The hash browns were barely cooked and had absolutely no seasoning on them at all. The bottled water was just fine. Coffee was so so. Recommendation? DEFINITELY NOT! Pass this place by if you want a good small town breakfast. read more

This is a great place to go eat if you are in Silver City. They have excellent food and their green chile cheese fries are to die for!
