Native of silver city. On vacation and ordered smother chicken burrito. It was very small especially for the price. I remember eating there before and burritos were big enough to fill you up. We stopped in for breakfast and enjoyed breakfast burritos and got two to go for later they were so good Filled with bacon, potato, cheese and egg on a flour tortilla. We are biking the great divide and enjoyed our second burritos a couple hours later on our way to Hatchito read more

Despite the name, the serve mostly Mexican food. My husband and I ordered a turkey sandwich. After waiting a few minutes, the cashier came to the table wand said they were out of turkey and offered us roast beef. My husband took that and I changed my order to a bean and cheese burrito. After several recommendations, we chose Grinder Mill. Nailed it!! Might be described as no-frills, but I guarantee there's not a friendlier place. Now the food...oh the food!! Gorditas are perfection with a beautiful soft dough with just the right amount of crisp. Tamales with a buttery soft masa and tender filling. Rellenos with just the right amount of spice and crispy tacos that make you sigh with happiness. Service is amazing and it's so evident that the secret ingredient in all of this is loving care. We were looking for a great Mexican carry out spot. This was a 4.5 actually. Knocked down only because green chile sauce was too bland. Their breakfast menu is available at night. We ordered the breakfast Christmas style (half green half red sauce). Super helpful and bubbly person took our order. I would definitely go back. read more

Very good service , fast and reasonable prices. However, the sauces aren't what they used to be. Not spicy at all. The green sauce is mostly cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup. C'mon Grinder, give us the level you used to be!!! read more

Grinder Mill is a Silver City favorite. Me and my family have been eating here since i was little and still do. Of course everyone isn't gonna like everything on the menu. I haven't been to a restaurant that i can say that everything was great so don't pay attention to some of these negative reviews. Breakfast is always quick and great and Roxanne always has her beautiful smile. For lunch, try some of the subs Turkey sub with green chili or the Hot Roast Beef. Dinner try Combo Burro with green chili on top or the reg Tacos. Whenever we have company over or from out of town we order Tamales by the dozen and their Menudo on the Sundays. I hope you give The Grinder Mill a try if haven't already. read more

Waitress was very nice, very helpful. The oatmeal was good. The green chile huevos rancheros had a yellowish sauce on top that could have passed for hollandaise. It was very... Unique. Obviously heavy on the cornstarch so if you're looking for very very mild and maybe this is for you. The Grinder is a Silver City favorite. This place was our go to for breakfast, lunch, simple and delicious things. Are you going to get something super fancy? No. Is it going to be delicious and comforting? Yes! More than likely! Whatever you get, make sure to have it smothered in an amazing red or green chile sauce (our house is divided on what's the best!) and you pretty much can't go wrong. Grinder Mill has taken turns for the worst. I have eaten here and off since the 1980's but as it is now, it's got issues. The Huevo's Ranchero's we ordered are cut with mushroom soup- you can find mushroom bits. Who does this? Yuck! The green chili was not hot, watered down with the soup. They add what felt like still slightly cold ground beer onto it, and it was not good. The eggs were fine, but they did fail to cook them over medium as requested and were runny- I like runny eggs but still, not what I asked for. The beans weren't hot and looked like they had just slid out of the can, which they did. The rice and eggs were the only winners. The empanadas were tasty. I won't be back. read more

Spent 8 dollers for a half a bowl of menudo that's sad had to buy another spent a total of 20 dollers sti hungry and I couldn't leave the water a to pl because I spent 20 dollars for a small bowl of food and a tea. read more

Taco salad was terrible and I'm not a picky eater. The hamburger was incredibly bland and they served the salad on a plate arranged like nachos with confetti shreds of lettuce. My husband said the sub was ok. read more

You don't come here for fancy food and smiling bubbly waitresses, you come hungover and enjoy the traditional resting bitch faces that silver city has to offer. I personally love this place. Trying to find a restaurant open on Sunday in Silver City is not easy. We found this one and were very disappointed. Poor service and the food was nothing to write home about. Paid $13 for a combination plate that was made ready for me in like 3 minutes (clearly not freshly made). The tamale, relleno and enchiladas were drenched in a soup load of bland sauce. Service was ok. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. As it happened, we were there for breakfast, so what could go wrong with one egg scrambled, hash browns and ham? Well the ham was the thinnest sliced I have ever seen aside from slivered lunch meat and it was cold. The egg was rubbery and cold. The hash browns were barely cooked and had absolutely no seasoning on them at all. The bottled water was just fine. Coffee was so so. Recommendation? DEFINITELY NOT! This is a great place to go eat if you are in Silver City. They have excellent food and their green chile cheese fries are to die for!
