I understand that many restaurants are struggling to hire the right staff. However, hiring service staff like the one we had today would be worse than having slow service. We have been tipping heavily since the pandemic began. We generally tip 50% or more just to do our part. Johnny and Kaitlyn being our favorite waite staff. But this young man whose name, I believe is Gregg was a curt demeaning droll. He served us our ice tea which I can only assume was freshly made as it melted the ice in the tea glass. I asked for a glass of ice at which point he asked snidely, "Is there anything else?" Even though is was grossly argumentative, I let it pass. After we received our food, I asked for a bottle of hot sauce for my meal; when he again, and more pronounced, asked my wife and me, "Is there anything else?!" I asked him if our requests were an inconvenience, which he responded with yes and continued with saying he doesn't want to be coming back and forth. I told him to leave and not come back. I'll not visit again until this rude troglodyte is gone and Denny's returns to proper business. The manager on duty was a lady who didn't ask if everything was ok, as by her demeanor she had been briefed by the horrible employee. I only wish the true manager had been in house. We won't be back and we live here. Oh, how I wish I could say this was a random experience. I doubt that it can be. read more

We like eating in our little town...Denny's is our breakfast place. We like the new look and the cleaner dining room and bathrooms. Our favorite waitress told us while Denny's was closed for 11 days, the staff did not get paid. Many had to quit. Shame on Denny's for not making it worth while to stay and for them to have experienced wait people. read more

Walked in and there was a sign asking customers to wait to be seated. While the restaurant was almost completely empty it took a few minutes before they acknowledged us and told us we could find a seat. Then we waited another 10 minutes and no one acknowledged our existence. We finally left and walked by the one server (who wasn't busy) and the manager who looked like he might be interviewing someone. Nether one seemed to care that we were leaving. So surprised that they don't want our business... but we will gladly spend our money elsewhere. read more

Oh boy, where do I start?! Came here on a Thursday night, waited for 10 minutes and was never acknowledged. We had to ask if we should just sit ourselves before anyone even said anything to us. We were finally seated and the manager (I'm guessing) came to take our drink orders and then our food order. It took about another 30 minutes to get our food AFTER we ordered. Nothing that came to our table was good by any means. My mom had gotten scrambled eggs which came out half fried and cut up. The waitress told her that because of the egg shortage, the kitchen is using REAL eggs instead of carton eggs and so they don't know how to scramble real eggs!!! My dad ordered a Turkey club sandwich, the toast was burnt and the turkey was cold. The fries that came with it were also undercooked and tasted awful. I had ordered hash browns, bacon and 2 biscuits. The biscuits were room temp, not warm at all, the hash browns were super crunchy and the bacon was pretty much burnt too. I also asked for a chocolate milk to come with my meal and the milk was room temp. If that milk has been sitting like that for a long time and I get sick I swear I'm calling the health department. Now for the physical appearance of the restaurant. The floors were so dirty and sticky you could feel it just walking. There were many tables that were still dirty from who knows how long. During our dining experience, someone in the kitchen broke a plate and no one bothered to sweep it up until another table mentioned it. As we were getting ready to leave there was a man with his son in his arms who was stomping at the floor, only to find that there was a COCKROACH wandering through the restaurant! The manager claims they were not understaffed by any means but the way it was going it sure seemed like they could have used some help. I will probably NEVER go back to this Denny's ever again. I decided to give them another try, it was an easy to-go order.... Eggs over medium, both yolks were broken during cooking. Bacon extra crispy, was not crispy (I microwaved it until it was crispy). Extra, extra well done hash browns, were barely done, I had to cook them until they were well done. I would love to know the secret to get extra well done hash browns here, maybe tell them that I want them burnt? Toast, barely toasted and wasn't buttered (I asked if they buttered it when I placed the order, they said yes) I guess the only way for them to get the order right is to eat there and be able to send the order back, because they really screw up to-go orders. Since there was no runny yolks to dip my toast in, I ended up putting the eggs and bacon on the toast, added a slice of cheddar cheese, a little mayo, a dash of hot sauce, salt and pepper and it turned into a decent egg sandwich, but that wasn't what I had ordered. Is it really asking too much to get a to-go order right without me having to cook it more when I get home? read more

I've eaten at Denny's restaurants for over 3 decades and this one is the worst! So sad as we just moved to Boerne! I've given them four opportunities to better themselves, but to no avail. Staff are slow to seat you, take your drink order, and serve your ordered food. The meals my husband and I ate were mediocre to say the least. The vegetable beef soup was the best. In our previous town, we patronized Denny's on a weekly basis. Looks like we'll be spending our money on local fare. read more

This Denny's is absolutely disgusting. There are fruit flies all over the place, especially if you sit at the bar. There are fruit flies all over the walls leading into the bathrooms. There are fruit flies if you sit in the back section in the very back corner booth. There are multiple cockroaches, that has been a problem for years now, that live and breed in the walls. You can see them run across walls and the floors. There are ants coming out of the window sills, and all over the table. The floor always seems to be sticky, and gross. I have seen a mouse run out of the wall, and then run back into it. If this is observable from the dining room, I can only wonder what the kitchen has going on in it. The last time I went there, I saw managers outside in their car during a busy weekend. No wonder the store is utter chaos when the manager is never even there. Maybe if the manager spent more time inside, it would run better and be cleaner. It seems to be constantly understaffed. I would not recommend you go Denny's, spend your money more wisely, and put it into a local restaurant and support the community. read more

We don't normally frequent Denny's but today due to religious fasting we couldn't eat meat so we decided stuffing our faces with pancakes sounded like a reasonable alternative. Walking in we were immediately excited about the place being almost empty. The excitement increased even further when we were sat down at a booth rather quickly and given coffee. Well that booth is apparently where all happiness goes to die because we were at that restaurant for 30 minutes patiently waiting for ANYONE to acknowledge our existence and it never happened. Not one server ever approached our table. After waiting for the half hour we were pretty much done with the place. We walked up to the register to pay for our ONE cup of coffee we were somehow magically able to acquire and the lady actually asked us about our visit. We figured this was our chance so we calmly (incredibly calmly I'd like to brag) explained that we hadn't ever actually been helped. The girl COULD NOT HAVE CARED LESS. No I'm sorry. No attempt to make us ever want to go back. She just gave us some snarky smile and told us to have a great day. I'd avoid this place like the plague if I were you. I ended up MUCH happier walking around the HEB Plus eating a bag of chocolate covered pretzels. Won't ever go back to Denny's. read more

Worst service I've ever experienced. My fiancé and I head into this particular Denny's a handful of times a month and the service is excellent with a couple of servers we've had. However, more often recently we have been subject to Andrea's service and displeased is an understatement. Nothing but empty drinks (after waiting half and hour for them to even make it to our table) and service that's sub par. Very unlikely that we will be giving Andrea our service in the future. read more

Honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had. I don't expect a lot from Denny's, but I do expect a decent level of cleanliness. There were ants in the ketchup, which the waitress explained was wood ants that they have been trying to get rid of and were due to sugary food on the tables. There was butter all over the tip of the syrup bottle, which we had to ask to be replaced. The tea was absolutely disgusting and I drinkable. Our first waitress was the general manager, who got our order wrong on multiple levels. She wouldn't write it down and kept repeating it back to us incorrectly. She then gave our order to another waitress who proceeded to make the order even worse. The other waitress was nice enough, but my family was done with their food before I even got the right order. There were tomatoes lining the floor of the booth which was clearly not cleaned before we were seated. The general manager agreed to take one meal off of our ticket due to the issues, but when we brought it up that it hadn't been updated, she got frustrated and stated she had taken it off but would just take off another meal to "make us happy". She had 0 professionalism and was incredibly rude and bothered by the fact we brought up that there were any issues. The only good thing about our visit was sweet Henry who checked us out. He had a smile on his face despite our obvious frustration and was patient while we dealt with the horrible gm. Will NOT be coming back. read more

if I could give this place zero Stars I would called in an order for lunch the other day it was a hamburger with cheese grilled onions and mushrooms on it no sides no drink no frills when I got there to pick up my food and went to pay it was $12 for a hamburger $12 unbelievable when I complain and that's why it was so much the waiter went and got the manager you have to be eating lunch at the time and as she walked up with all of her diamonds all over her wrist and fingers and neck stated that that was the price that the burger itself plus the extra mushrooms I added and the slice of cheese brought the cost up to $12 and that she was sorry she didn't set the prices, didn't expect my food for free just thought since I didn't get the side that come with it or the drink maybe they could have discounted someone said of adding 3 extra dollars ,definitely nothing at this place work that kind of money spechie not a hamburger sad how all the restaurants in Boerne seem to want to live up to the same reputation where to mouth goes a long way read more
