So, I am a flexible person. It is Sunday night and my wife and I didn't want to cook, so we ordered for delivery. Denny's seemed to be a safe option. I ordered the build your own burger with the grilled chicken breast option, swiss cheese, carmelized onions, and mayo (along with whatever else comes on it which according to their website menu is lettuce, pickle, red onion, and tomato). So, apparently they ran out of grilled chicken and replaced it with a fried chicken breast. That is fine, like I said before I am flexible. Not so flexible, that they ONLY PUT A FRIED CHICKEN BREAST! There were onion rings too, which I paid extra for, but barely 5!!! We had another "build your own burger" and they didn't include lettuce, tomato, red onion, or pickles!!! The boxes on the website are click to remove those particular items, so why were they not on the burger? Also, to show how flexible I am, my daughter wanted pancakes. They were out of pancakes and gave her French toast. French toast is fine, but how can you be out of pancakes when there is a grocery store 5 minutes away walking distance round trip. I know that buying a box of pancake mix probably cuts into your profit margin, but I can guarantee you would still make money on the product. I went to pick up food and ended up with a flat tire. One of the cooks tried his best to help me change the tire to a spare and even offered to spend the $95 for a tow company to come change my tire! I do not make a habit of writing reviews of chain restaurants unless they are not consistent with what you would expect i.e. poor service or REALLY exceptional. I was in Normal for a week with work. Almost everything opened at 7am and I needed to be at work at 7:45. The only place near me was Dennys. So I ate there each day. The morning server Patty's was great. She is a "Monday through Friday kinda girl" so she helped me every day. She was attentive to my requests and once she found out I was there all week she remembered my requests like Cholula hot sauce, crispy bacon and sausage and an itemized receipt. She spent enough time at my table to make me feel welcome and I knew it mattered to her that I was there. Because of dietary restrictions I got the build your own grand slam several times and an omelet once. My food was perfect. My experience with Dennys is that they are consistently OK. The staff at this location did a great job of going above and beyond. I will eat at this Dennys as often as I am in town. read more

Absolutely incredible food and service. The food was delicious and the portions were the perfect size (I ordered the Build-your-own Grand Slam and my boyfriend ordered the All-American). Quoting my boyfriend, "my bussy was quaking by the end of the meal." Our waitress, whose name I believe was Cindy, has to be an angel sent to Earth. She provided amazing service, being quick, sweet, and efficient. If I could give her a Denny's Employee of the Year award, I would. I greatly appreciate her and the experience this Denny's provided us with. The ambiance of the Denny's was what you'd expect from a Denny's but still clean and pretty swanky. I stopped in when my flight out of the Bloomington airport was delayed for hours. Waitress was nice enough. The menu was greasy so I didn't peruse it much, just ordered biscuits and gravy and a milk. Got my food quickly but I couldn't tell what was in the gravy. I guess it was cut up sausage links, not the normal ground sausage in white gravy. It was terrible. The glass the milk came in was not clean. I barely ate any of it, paid and got out there. I'll never go back. read more

I went around 3 am w some friends cause we ordered online because we had a prior not so great experience. We get there and say we ordered online and they apparently cancelled the order cause they didnt have enough staff. Thats fine but we were starving. So i ask how im going to get a refund and they say i need to go through my bank mind you its sunday morning so i can't necessarily call my bank. So i go back the next day if dennys will give me a refund. They say i need to write my order number and ill get an email... I get an enail saying i got charged again. This is actually a very nice Denny's, compared to many others. The restaurant is relatively near the highway (three miles off) and the parking lot is accessible and roomy. The dining room and restrooms are clean, and the food is well prepared. The staff is friendly and polite. I definitely recommend this location over some others... read more

It's probably been 5+ years since I've been to this or any other Denny's and I was pleasantly surprised. For starters, they have a new coffee blend that is much better than the coffee that I've had recently, at IHOP, Bob Evans or Wildberry. Why do places that are known for breakfast not have better coffee. Good coffee is one of the things that will bring me back to a place and bad coffee will keep me from ever going there again (Shannon's 5 Star). In addition, I had the blueberry pancakes which were LOADED with plump blueberries and came with 2 eggs, hash browns and bacon. This was $5.99(or $6.99?) which is much cheaper than the other breakfast places. The only disappointment was the bacon which was so thin that you could read a newspaper through it. Our waitress, Virginia, was very efficient and pleasant. She kept the coffee refills coming and checked up on us often even though it was a Sunday morning and pretty full. To top it off, I got to use my AARP card for a discount for the first time. $1.00 coffee for everyone in your party. Woo hoo, this is livin'! read more

Ordered fruit pancakes and other food for pickup, almost all of the fruit (strawberries blueberries bananas etc) was hard or tough to chew and completely ruined the pancake. My sausage links were also dry/scaly feeling and strangely colored on the inside. But I only go here for breakfast and I give Denny's a huge kudos for perfecting breakfast... finally gave the most important meal of the day the attention it deserves! Coffee: Great coffee. Love the fresh cream but I wish they would give me a pitcher! It only happened once. I think I need to figure out the code word. Randomness: It's cold as Antarctica in there! Bring a sweater ladies and/or be "that girl" and ask not to sit near the vents! Food: Build your own slam is the greatest invention ever. Honestly I think the best value for your money considering the options you can pick from. No place in town lets you pick, choose and substitute without charging you $3 for a side of bacon! When I want breakfast but want to feel kinda sorta healthy I have to give Denny's an A+ for their choices and the remarkably good flavor. Egg whites, whole wheat pancakes, turkey bacon and chicken sausage patty (the flavor is awesome!)... I'm satisfied without being stuffed and I get my fill of pancake goodness. The nutty flavor of the pancakes is fantastic. Some of my (dare I say it) favorite pancakes in town. Plus, hard to believe, they have sugar free syrup and I like it better than regular syrup! Oh and $4 all you can eat pancakes! Yeah. Good deal.
