Probably the worst denny's i've ever been to. The lady server is very slow. Slow to take order, slow to give order, nowhere to be found when we want to pay. We didn't even bother getting another refill on coke, couldn't find the lady! The food is very disappointing. I don't remember denny's being this bad. Burger is very dry. Sad. Fries is pale, undersalted. Got the value meal pancakes and scrambled eggs. I didn't want the bacon but they couldn't substitute so I just opted out of it. If I could give it negative stars I would. Food was disgusting the sausage tasted like vicx vapor rub, they gave us blue steak with a heart beat on it and said we asked for it medium rare. They refused to remove the steak and then said they couldn't give us the military discount because they removed an item. On top of all that they gave horrible service. they had one waiter so I guess we were unlucky to get the one that sucked his name is Alberto M. We were later told that they were under staffed because he didn't schedule anyone so he could collect the tips for the long-weekend. When they got back up with customer he called his wife another waiter who showed up with their kids. I hope they gave their kids a better breakfast than what we got. The crepes were chewy and tasted like raw dough! Save your money and your time, you're probably better off with fast food or alien jerky! Never ever coming back here and you shouldn't either! The food is standard Dennys so you won't be impressed but you know exactly what you are going to get here. Good eggs, paper thin bacon, miniature sausage links, some great coffee. The service at this location was pretty good considering there were only two servers and a decent number of tables. No silly robot delivery that just seems more gimmicky than helpful. REVIEW: This review is a little challenging. It was easily a two star experience that I'm rounding up to three stars for the hustle from our server. At the time we arrived at the Denny's it was absolutely packed: typical feel and vibe of Denny's, #amirite I only saw two employees out on the floor who were trying to manage an entire restaurant full of customers. For what it's worth they were hustling and it showed. So I needed to acknowledge that here. The food is another story entirely. My guest enjoyed their breakfast; the eggs were delicious although they were a little tiny bit runny (ordered over-medium). I ordered a side of biscuits and gravy and they were beyond terrible. It had three pieces of a chopped up sausage link within the gravy, and the biscuits were tough and old. I had no choice but to send it back. Other than that, it was a good enough experience as we were just hungry and on our way to Vegas. I would just keep an eye out on how busy it is if you're on a relative time crunch. read more

This Denny's in Baker, CA is my main pit stop whenever I'm heading to or coming back from Las Vegas. I think it's a 24/hr Denny's, (aren't they all?). The service is usually fast and friendly, but there have been some times when the service sucks only because it gets severely understaffed. That depends on the time of day. Obviously during daylight, it's great, at night is when it becomes a hit or miss. For a Denny's, the food here is actually better than other locations I've been too. It comes out quickly, tastes good (most of the time) and no complaints. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is almost always clean and never too crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That's really only because of the area that this place is in. Most people that stop in this area are doing it for a quick driving break to refuel or eat since they are on their way to Las Vegas or on their way back. Excellent my Grandson 18 yes old finally ate something other a hamburger. It was Brisket sandwich he loved it. Pathetic server. Full of attitude. There is a short guy who seems to be having tons of attitude. We ordered $100 worth of food and he wasn't refilling our coffee accusing we might be sharing it (no one was sharing). Menu said it's unlimited refill. We asked him to refill once. For every small change, he was charging for extra money. That's fine but he needs to learn manners. He lost his tip. He deserved a zero tip. And he was good to other customers so high likely he was being racist. I don't see any other reason for his entitled behavior. Denny's CEO would rather be more humble than this server. And and and as soon as you enter the restaurant, you would smell rotten meat. Whole place was filled with strong stench. Go to their restroom, you will puke. It was stenching so so bad, it was smelling like sewage. I don't know why department of sanitation hasn't closed it down yet. I have bookmarked it so I don't come here even by mistake. Food was decent but trying eating decent food in a drain. UPDATE: Dear Lenin, thanks for taking out time to respond to my review. I understand that I wrote a strong review criticizing various things, but that's how strong I felt when I left the restaurant. Offended. Thursday, January 22, 2026 around 6 a.m., my husband and I went to Denny's for breakfast in Baker, California. After we sat down, I ordered coffee and waited for the waitress to return, but it took quite a while. In the meantime, two Caucasian men came in, and the waitress went straight to their table to take their order, leaving us waiting. I'd heard about Denny's discriminatory practices but had never experienced them firsthand until then. We ended up leaving and going to Del Taco, where we were treated wonderfully. We love Denny's (It's an American Institution)! We've stopped at this Denny's in Baker on several of our trips. It's a nice, convenient location to stop and get gas and eat a meal that isn't going to break the bank. There is plenty of parking and the dining area inside of the restaurant is good sized and fairly well maintained. The food is good. Certainly not the worst Denny's food I've ever had. I would say it's very hit or miss with the staff however, sometimes they're very, very friendly. Other times not so much. They've never been downright rude, but sometimes they just... Aren't friendly? They also have large restrooms which are usually very clean (we went once where there was a really bad odor in both restrooms). For a Denny's you could certainly do worse. read more
